    [X] Plan People Loot, Again
-[X] Briefly exit the Pendulum of Fate to prepare.
--[X] After renewing his social spells (Voice of the Dragon & Air of Nobility), if necessary, Viserys casts Ancestral Awakening to learn the Aura Sight and Dragoneye Rune spells, then uses Blood Wish to cast Greater Magic Aura on himself to hide the aura of all spells affecting him. He then uses his Greater Ribbon of Disguise to hide his glowing eyes caused by the Greater Magic Aura spell.
-[X] Once prepared, return to the Pendulum and seek out those willing to enter into a service contract of at least three years with an employer who cannot tell them where they will be living and working during that time until further arrangements have been made, though doing so should take no more than three to four weeks. Although we cannot reveal the location to them quite yet, we can promise that it will be an interesting change from their normal environments and that there will be plenty of opportunity for them to make the most of their skills, whether that means enchanting gear or slaying monsters.
--[X] Use Aura Sight to determine the Alignment of all prospective hires. Those with Neutral Evil, Chaotic Evil, or Chaotic Neutral Alignments will not be approached or offered a position, nor will any qualifying Efreeti, Marid, or other enemy species of Outsider.
--[X] While priority is placed on mages capable of crafting enchanted items, any willing mage, or even skilled non-spellcasters will be considered for employment. Comfortable accommodations for those who might wish to bring their families can easily be arranged.
--[X] Anyone who accepts the term of employment will be asked to allow us to place a Dragoneye Rune on them so that when the time comes to retrieve them we can easily and painlessly verify their identity. The rune will be removed once they have been settled into their new homes.
--[X] Ask Embra, using the full weight of her family name of the feels it appropriate, to vouch for our sincerity and trustworthiness should any potential hires prove concerned about our motives or the secrecy we are maintaining.

-[X] Viserys should take care to explain our blood sacrifice policies to those that accept
-[X] It should be clear that all of them will be expected to follow the laws of the Imperium while within our borders, whether or not the contract between us persists.
-[X] the level 8 NG Sylph Witch with Brew Potions and Craft Wondrous Item
--[X] Starting bonus of 700 IM, with a yearly salary of 600 IM.
--[X] In exchange we want her to lead the charge for a potions industry, and to teach budding witches in the Scholarum, and spend time crafting/brewing for us.
-[X] The two level 6 LN Raptoran Oracles with the Battle and Bones Mysteries (twins) one of which has craft Weapons and Armor
--[X] Starting bonus of 400 IM, with a yearly salary of 500 IM.

--[X] Services requested: Teaching at the Scholarum, training with the Legion.
-[X] All contracts are offered in perpetuity, with a minimum signing time of 3 years. Make it clear that initial salaries will have ample room to grow in the future.
-[X] All contracts include the following as standard:
--[X] A full Imperium Adventurer Standard, if required (Healing Belt, PfE Amulet, whatever else this might have on it)
--[X] Food, lodging and other basic living expenses provided by the Imperium
--[X] Magical healing and other supernatural aid (cursebreaking, etc.) if harm that harm is suffered in our service.
--[X] Preferential rates on item commissions, and materials for those with Item Creation feats.
--[X] Opportunity for renegotiation of terms every year.
--[X] We will raise them from the dead if necessary, though they'd be obligated to work off the cost of the diamond.

@Duesal @Snowfire @Everyone Thanks for taking over the plan for me. I thought we had settled everything before I left. Didn't see DP's post with the potential hires on it until I was fighting my way through the hospital parking garage.

Part MMCXCVI: Long Held Secrets
Long Held Secrets

Sixteenth Day of the Fourth Month 293 AC

Your company of seven makes quite the stir when once the patrons of the Pendulum turn their eyes from the latest scuffle and onto the newcomers, obviously armed and armored in fine magics for all you have taken great care to hide your own corona of magic. It would after all ill behoove you to become tangled in some tavern brawl over the mistaken impression that you are trying to bespell anyone.

Somewhere to your left Embra giggles, dealing a solid blow to whatever impression of mystery or menace you may have been causing, though not quite enough to shake the attention of all present. A genie-kin sitting with his legs under him on a listing bench, ready to spring forth in the most literal sense of the word, watches you with a confused expression, the telltale glint of mage sight in his eyes, while a pair of hawk-winged spear-men sneak glances in your direction with less subtlety than they imagine, necklaces of bones clinking at their throats as they shift in place. The pale-skinned giant makes use of no such subtlety, stomping over to Waymar and looming over him in challenge.

The valeman looks up with a cheerful smile that sits easily on his boyish face save for a chill edge you doubt the giant can guess at. "There's plenty of room to go 'round, no need to push."

"Take the girl and go," the giant rumbles, his trade tongue so close to the local speech that you can barely guess at a touch of the dragons' tongue to it. "This ain't no place for High-Born to have their fun." He must have mistaken Waymar's instinctive gallantry towards Embra for a sworn sword's protectiveness. Judging from the look on Tyene's face there will be quite a bit of teasing to be had on that subject later.

"Friend," you reply before Waymar has a chance answer, your tone affable without being soft. "We aren't here for fun, but on business, and the lady is our companion and guide." After a full twenty heartbeats of holding his gaze, just as you are about to get a crick in your neck, he looks away and he strides away with a huff.

"Not the safest way to handle Fyrn, but you can't argue with success," a soft voice calls from up ahead. A feyblood bearing arms and armor much like you had seen among the town guard though without any of their insignia motions you to her table. Even up close you find yourself unable to guess her age beyond 'old enough to have earned her scars'.

"I suspect people will be doing plenty of arguing with me before my task here is done..." you answer with a smile, going over how you want to sell this in your head: Sate your wanderlust and keep your pockets full...

Several hours and enough tankards of ale and goblets of wine that you had to clear your head twice by magic you had gained the services of everyone who interested you among the patrons of the Pendulum: the nervous genie-kin mage, the two winged brothers blessed and cursed by the powers of war, and the former scout master in the armies of the Sultan. True at least half of them are probably expecting betrayal even after you paid them up front, but you are reasonably sure none of them are planning it. Trust will come in time.

Seventeenth Day of the Fourth Month 293 AC

From the dizzying heights of the Wind Homes you cross by sorcery the boundary into the familiar resplendent halls of the Shaitan, quickly cutting a deal for two more sets of stone shaping tools to be delivered at once, for in spite of their prodigious cost they are used often enough by earth genie architects that it pays to keep them to hand.

Gained 2x Titan's Tools

Lost 80,000 Gold

Wincing sightly at the price though still content with the final result, you give a brief visit to House Adjar where you mention the potential meeting in Sorcerer's Deep in strictest confidence as well as finally revealing your origins much to Alyneah's relief. It is clear she chose her calling well, for though she might understand intrigue and secrecy she dislikes both. Upon hearing you have a meeting with the Grand Vizier she smiles faintly and even unbends enough to 'offer her condolences' in jest.

How do you address Mahuroos Tepani in light of changed circumstances?

OOC: I went intentionally light on the adventurers so as not to bloat the story by just tossing the backstories at your guys. Rather than do that you will learn more of their powers and past as and if they will become relevant in the future.

Just kill the fucker in the most humiliating and public way possible, no torture, no curses, just use him as an example and run him naked, or close to it through the streets under guard so people can pelt him with shits, and rotting fruit. Maybe the noose isn't long enough so he spends a minute or two dying ugly.

I'm interested in them as characters. For example, dude that wanted to bolt when he saw us :).

What's his story and jazz :)

They don't really, rates vary wildly by the level of danger as well as the time employed. Adventurers live of sudden windfalls of fat jobs followed by dry spots. That said goods and services (a night at an inn, a meal etc...) are approximately ten times more expensive here than in most places on the prime material so that might serve as a rough indicator of expectations.

We need to get ahold of eccentric researchers, give them time, grants and space, reap cool shit, let them ignore the outside world.

I don't want to just drop his full backstory OOC but I will say he h enough sense motive to know you had some kind of unnatural social presence yet you did not have an aura which could only man you were hiding, possibly hiding a lot.

Well, yes. But isn't that standard procedure for established mages? :D

You know, the hilarious thing here is that we can now literally pull the most terrifying thing that can happen to a Shadowrun Mage on adventurers in a bar.

Because the most terrifying thing that you can have happen as a Mage in Shadowrun? You use Astral Sight on the Johnson and suddenly realise they're a dragon.

Wow, this is certainly interesting.
Spider-Gremlins, Assemble!
@Azel, would you mind too much if I borrowed one of these to finish the Imperial Stables next month to get ready for the influx of hippogriffs?
That's a waste, IMO. Every day they aren't being used, that's 26 kilometers of road or 1 kilometer of bridge not being built. Muggle laborers, with some Lyre assistance, can handle the stables.

You know, this brings up a funny idea for an Omake.

Quest!Viserys (maybe with company) inserted into Shadowrun.

Hey @Goldfish, found another location for the good ship Glory :p
That was its name, right?

So, it's Potter-verse, NWN2: Mask of Betrayer, and Shadowrun now?
...pleae, someone.
Do these. I'm begging you.
