Remember, the counter is of equal power, not equal effect. So we got a dream recruitment, joined up and became the bestest OG-friend this side of the wall. The Others sent a dream recruitment to Brandon from the Westerosi adventurer team who...immediately went south. Equal power, but Bloodraven is a much better player, so he gets much more bang for his buck.

Nope - bloodraven got countered for his actions talking to Aemon, if anyone, we were the ones that reached out to bloodraven, so the others should not have had a move. But we will owe him for this information. Philosopher's tree tomorrow or the next day?

Philosopher's Tree tomorrow, along with Defense Tree. Dawn Fruit Tree needs to wait for us to get Leshys as well as picking out a good spot and digging a proper self-sustaining irrigation network.

...Philosopher's Tree is getting better with every day.

> Old Gods socialise. This is actually important.
> Scholars from all around the world come to ask their questions.
> Scholarum students get a fuckhuge multiplier to all studies, so long as they can take 10 willsave.
> We can awaken people to magic under Philosopher's Tree crone even better than before.
Which was already "as good as it gets before epic levels".
> We get to ask level-relevant information through it, without risking Others getting free shots at anyone.
It's like regular sacrifice by the tree, but better, because it's made to relay voices of the Old Gods.
> Crafters and Artisans of the Deep get, again, fuckhuge bonuses for their craft, as long as they can take the willsave.
> We get to make a dedicated R&D with Research arcanum at the head.
Our library + this tree = OTP.

I'm in love with this.
Thank you, @Azel, for designing it.
Much, muuuch more versatile than that half-assed "water of knowledge"-tree of mine could have ever been. Nor as damaging to user's sanity.

It's a pity Rohar is a monster. I like his name. Rohar.

Rohar.

Eh, he's going to a good cause :)

Edit, is wonder if there isn't a way to get a synergistic -1 dex for a day for +3 to +5 on your next will save effect we can make eventually to boost the effect of the philosopher's tree. And to feed the OG more blood. Mainly to get people to feed the OG :)

You're missing my point by being distracted by the details. Hypothetically, if Bloodraven contacts someone, who then causes something major to happen like causes a city to fall, the others do not get to cause a city to fall. They only also get to contact someone, and are dependent on how effective their contact is, just like Bloodraven was originally.

@Duesal, any chance of us having some leftover HD we wouldn't mind to spend communing with Old Gods on the matter of reviving Petrified Tree?
They of all the people should know.
And Philosopher's tree will very likely make answer very clear for us to hear.

Instead of growing a tree or communing, I wanted to use those extra sacrifices to Tree Stride to Bloodraven and back.

...Another funny mental image.
Somewhere in relatively distant future, with us being at, say, level 18 and having grown 40-50 Heart Trees.

Others take a look at how strong Old Gods have become.
At how well-manned the wall is.
At our super-legions.

Then throw up their hands, say:
"Fuck it, we can't compete with this"
and go the fuck away from Material Plane.

@Duesal, that's one we wanted to do in a month or two from now, no?
We'll need Lya for many projects soon, so no leaving her with uncle dearest to learn.
And she'd be salty about that, yes.
Neither did he, likely, write down all lore on wards we asked for yet.

Though we still have a lot of questions, true... Mayhaps even moreso than before.

Good thing is, slowly dragging out every little bit of magical knowledge Old Gods hold won't be a problem once we have Philosopher's Tree and R&D team.
1. Get buff
2. Dictate stuff to a Pendragon while doing the stuff you needed the buff for.
3. ????
4. Profit.

Oh. Yeah. That is a thing. Bloodraven got skillz. :D.

But I like to keep track of the actions taken that primarily benefit us by the OG/Greatest Uncle that the others can respond to, to keep the debts balanced (balance being: we owe them nothing, or as little as possible, the OG get, say, a pantheons' worth of fiend blood ;). ) Make it that much eiser to reach a diplomatics solution with them and the seven. We have to at least try.

that would be Viserys only (and Varys too, I suppose). Precluding the dragonpens we left with greatest uncle. Maybe we can get the staff upgraded to allow a few party members, making the tree stride useful.

It's definitely happening at some point. I'm aiming for 3 months from now.
...So, what's our timeline to Lys/Myr?
4-5 months?

Sothoryos, Visiting beyond the Wall, Tiamat Counteraction Tactical Espionage... Something something Spell to surpass Metal Gear, Plane of Air...
What other big adventures we planned to have?

Exploring the oplaibe vault with Lya to check out cool stuff and go item shopping and restock on reagants. We can buy all the Tyroshi Brandy. All of it. And a shit tonne of honey. And other things.

4-5 Months might be right. It really depends on how quickly people get through our watch program. Our legionnaires trained faster than anticipated, since a lot of them were coming from martial backgrounds originally and just retraining. So, we'll see how it goes, but on the very fast end, I'd expect 3 months at the soonest. 6 Months would be a more conservative estimate.

We might want to do an expedition to the outskirts of the Valyrian Peninsula from Mantarys or Lamentation in the lull there.

Nonono, as in, "gather sacrifices, capture dragons, do drugs, play rock'n'roll" kind of adventures.

Opaline Vault is a given, considering we don't care much for our "secret" anymore and getting a stable trade route will profit us greatly.
Also, books and lore. They'd have those in spades.
We'd get to train our own artificers at SD. Best artificers evah.

Aaand maybe we sell them mirror and Ice Heart, getting a lot of goodwill.
Kind of depends on what our research action into heart tells us.

Ooh, a minor adventure not to forget - we should go to MS to get obsidian sand.
And all the little critters for Fehu that DP described back long ago.

Damn, no wonder my nap was so crappy. I was being summoned repeatedly.

Explains the weird dreams, too.

Okay, gimme a minute, folks. Your trust in me warms the cold dead space where my heart should be.

Also, @Duesal, Xorn heart tree?
Will affect Old Gods greatly.
And I think, in a good way.
Will also greatly help our main source of iron.

This reminds me: craft Necklaces of Natural Weapons for our three iron golems, and have one guarding Rhaella. Archers are good as they can fly, normal one is good as it has see Invisibility.
