Now would be a good time to see if the Royce's would be interested in being lord paramounts of the vale. We would need to be very subtle though.

Too early. We need to achieve closer relations first.

You know while we are here... If we finish with time left. Lets scout out the Eyrie, perhaps loot their library and check on Sweetrobin?

(If we end up exploding the whole Eyrie that wont be too bad, the stonefey will be close by to make a better castle for the Warden of the Vale.)

Also too early. If we explode the Eyrie, the war is on. People will start declaring for us, and we don't have the men yet to fight a war.

Okay, we need to work towards both making it clear we're strong enough to contend for the throne, and that the current regime has failed in it's duty as liege lord (The king by basically being a puppet of the Lannisters, who are hoarding magical might to advance themselves to the detriment of the other kingdoms, and Jon Arryn by neglecting the Vale, who has been beset by problems as of late. Something something we've heard the roads are not as safe to travel, unrest, etc.).

There is no Sweetrobin.

Lysa had an earlier child then the canonical one and by rumor it seems to be staying a baby for some time now.

We suspect she dealt with Fey or Devil for a baby and got exactly what she asked for.

Hm... I think a bit of honesty is in order. Whiteharbor and our agents routing out devil cults on Tarth. Fighting Illithid in the Crownlands.

Impress upon him that we a) do the kings job, b) Bobby isn't, c) we can come and go as we please and d) we are powerful enough to make all of that work.

Come to think off...

@DragonParadox, is only the creation of a magical school so difficult as Doran implied or is it tremendously hard to obtain magic at all for Westerosi Lords, unless they do it in secret?

Seems right. He says he has trouble imagining such things so we might as well make it clear they have no issue imagining him.

We can mention supporting the Wall as well. Yohn taking Waymar to it in canon indicates he has a respect for it as an institution.

Edit: Actually, the wall might be excellent as an example. It's huge, and if we point out that it wasn't raised to protect against mere men in furs, the scope of effort needed to defend against magic should be nicely underlined, and the lack of preparation taken in Westeros so far.

The most important thing is making him realize Jon Arryn has failed the vale, Robert is a drunkard, Viserys is obviously the better king and he knows that but his loyalty is to Jon.

It shouldn't be that hard, Jon is off in kings landing while the vale is being raided. The lords are the ones fighting off the clans while Jon seems to not even care.

I know I wasnt too clear on this, but please note how I said the stonefey would be close at hand. By which I mean they'll have their promised Vale mountain after the war. The war which might have it expedient to just splode the Eyrie.

Anyway, just a quuuick scouting and to loot the maesters tower for letters and books? :ogles:

Good points.

I think we shouldn't address the matter of King or Not King at all. Just do what we always do, talk to him as if we are already King and Robert is just keeping our chair warm. His loyalty will waver all on it's own once he grasps that we are doing a finer job then the fat lout, while being so limited.

Edit: Waiting on DPs reply, then going to craft a vote.

The Eyrie doesn't seem worth exploding. Too important as a symbol of legitimacy and too easy to take by flying or teleporting.

We could give him a foreign policy primer?

i.e. why we can't allow institutionalized slavery to exist, maybe starting with Valyria/devils and then slowly shift over to illithids and the wall.

This seems to be an overnight vote.
Too late for an interlude? Kylla and her poppets, or Alinor dealing with the leshies perhaps? :p

XP gains for the brief Tor arc edited in here.

Almost time for Richard to level up, ya'll.

Malarys has really been racking up the XP, too, as it's already time for him to level up again. He'll be capping off his Church Inquistor PrC with this level. We'll need to decide on a new PrC for him soon. I'm in favor of Contemplative.
