Been thinking, and how did tiamat get her claws on so many high level casters? Being able to throw 4th circle spells around is nothing to sneeze at, and is more than just about anyone else has.

Reminder that a big problem for the Vale recently has been the mountain clans watering weirwood trees with blood, so even bringing up sanctifying the tree with the Day of Change ritual might now be a bit touchier than it would be normally.

We could have Danny do it if we weren't more interested in training our own.

Just so you know the Night's Watch has way more than 3 castles, most of them are just currently closed due to manpower needs, when we exile a whole bunch of enemies there after taking over Westeros, they will probably be reopening some of them.
The three occcupied castles of the Night's Watch. I'm fully aware there are other castles, but counting them seemed a bit premature. Maybe later when we hear about them getting more recruits.

@Goldfish, this just occurred to me. The Heart Tree just Beyond the Wall past Castle Black is old as hell, yeah? Like thousands of years old. We could just put a Magic Circle Against Evil there and basically give the Night's Watch a massive safe spot against the horrors of the Long Night. Of course, won't protect them from wildlings or animals, but it's still something.

EDIT: Magic Circle Against Evil should become standard practice when enhancing ancient weirwoods. We get a massive range and a permanent CL 20 Magic Circle Against Evil.

... actually, then again, maybe we should be picky. That's a drain on the Old Gods' power. We're definitely having it for the petrified weirwood. Maybe Sorcerer's Deep, Winterfell, Runestone, and Beyond the Wall?

Unfortunately, the spell doesn't actually function the way you think it does.

Unless the Others are using a lot of Summoned creatures, at best those within the effect would gain immunity to mind control and possession, and a +2 Resistance bonus to saves and a +2 Deflection bonus to AC. Neat and useful effects, but hardly an anti-Evil force field.

At the very least they wouldn't have to worry about being possessed by ghosts.

They explicitly are. The last time Benjen ranged Beyond the Wall his entire party was possessed and he had to kill them all. Ghosts and possession and a pretty severe problem for them.
Then they need amulets, not a magic circle that can't possibly be moved. And everybody needs PfE amulets, there's literally never enough of them.
