[X] Diomedon

As for R'hllor, I feel Crake has a point in that Viserys is likely to have many many supporters amongst the priesthood and general worshipers. We do have quite the Fire motif, one we ironically share with R'hllor, egotistical LE deity and all that jazz, and as such, the motif of Law to boot. The issue boils down to no desire on our part to play second fiddle to R'hllor, and understandably so, but that's not exactly the end all be all to our past and future interactions.

It's just good sense to wed his organization to our empire. Cuts down on fighting against each other when the real enemy is to the cold north, something both can agree upon.

It's the slavery bit that gets me. He would view Viserys as his rightful slave, and his grasping nature does make me think of "Devil Lord pretending to be a god"

We can politely and firmly send the priests back to Volantis.

If those in Lys have an issue, they can either shut up and stay out of the way. Or help*

*Yes, that is the menacing form of "help" ;)

@das_slash I don't wanna visit Brenno next turn. or the next turn after that, so between two or three of us five people currently talking it may be decided, but to assume that the thread will want such an action is perhaps premature. Maybe instead of "it's decided" go a bit more "I really want this and will present excellent arguments and a plan for what people are hoping to achieve/list of goals for this action"?

Doesn't really matter though?

Despite our rethoric about standing together, fighting each other will actually make everyone stronger for the danger from the North.
Wether we get better by killing and looting Clerics, or they get better by killing and looting us doesn't matter, the end result will be higher-leveled and better equipped PCs fighting the Nightking and minions.

That whole calculus that unity makes everyone stronger only works if fighting each other would result in losses even for the winning side, but that's not the case with healing and rezzing.
And a few high-level PCs will almost always beat more mid-levels.

We should at least keep him in mind for future Volantis political intrigue. Zherys can only influence how easy it would or wouldn't be to get the Old Blood to fall into line. Benerro would help across all of Essos.

Fuck. No.

If they want to ride our coattails they can work for it and position themselves to align with the values of the Empire. NOT the other way around.

You're all talking about IF there are waves. But it's their decision and if they make waves I'm not throwing them a life vest because they couldn't live peacefully under a Just rule.

He views all men as his rightful slaves, right? Well, that rhetoric kind of falls flat once we hit 15...

...party then. I used Viserys as an example as he is the Player Charcter, but your salient (and amusingly pithy :) ) point does not address my concerns/points/general position

Seriously, weeping lady would make a great replacement god for slaves.

I'm not getting into an in-depth argument about it atm, but I will be willing to do so later when it is more relevant.

I have strong oponions about parts of this whole thing, and I could not be bothered expanding on/sharing them, never mind convincing others of their validity, at this time.

*Shrugs, tiredly*

That said, when I do get into it, I look forward to the disagreements and consensus' we come to :)

Burny is way more of a problem than the Seven are in my opinion, and the Seven is just as entrenched as Burny is, so I don't see why the same people who campaign to wipe the Seven out want to make peace with Burny.

I don't want to work with burny, i want to work with benerro, different thing.
Also, burny wants to work with us, the seven hate us for daring to exist.

erm, @DragonParadox would you mind providing some context, if not anyhow spoilerific?
Particularly, on the matter of sacrificing stuff to gods?
Just how much more powerful on physical/metaphysical do we make Old Gods and/or Yss when force-feeding them stuff?
How soon can we expect Yss to jump up in divine levels with all worship and HD we're feeding him?
And on unrelated matter: do those rolls you mentioned you make for Scholarum students mean they have finished their education or that they were found among the populace? Does the fact we haven't had great luck with those rolls since first one means nor that there aren't any mages-in-training but that they've not finished learning yet?
  1. No one in your party has high enough ranks in knowledge religion to to know 'divine ecology' to that level
  2. The latter, many more spell-casters are currently struggling through their educations

@BeepSmile You have a habit of confusing the Weeping Lady with the Lady of Mirrors.

Who's the lady of Mirrors? The Moonsinger goddess? Now you mention it, her portfolio does include freedom, but I really did mean the weeping lady, god of wisdom and slaves and something else. Big temple in Lys. Viserys spoke to her once, she offered to free Velen

I'm not mixing them up, but I do think that we could use either one as a replacement god now that you mention it.

Oh shit. A thought.

Since Stannis will no longer be at Dragonstone by the time canon rolls around...

"When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone."

Valaena seems like she'll be the first one to wake a dragon.

VALAENA IS AZOR AHAI.

Or it could be Richard. He does seem to carry a flaming sword around. And he featured prominently in Mel's visions.

We could have a tremendous argument in thread (salt), then have Viserys cast pyrotechnics (smoke) while Richard casts an imbued stone to flesh on an egg if we want to be silly about it, he already has a rather good flaming sword.

I would totally be okay with claiming Richard is Azor Ahai. It sounds like it would be tremendously amusing, if only to prove that we can provide all the ingredients to force a prophecy onto someone in particular.

This is in no way taking shots at Mel. No sir.

  • [X] Try to reestablish some semblance of order and judge them according to their involvement in the plot
-[X] In particular, seek out the location of those apprentice wizards that were mentioned earlier, and attempt to capture them.
-[X] Those who attempt to flee or fight will be killed where they stand, but those who accept the call to surrender will be spared and judged.
-[X] After reuniting with Lya, make sure to preserve some of the remains of the mage smith scattering the rest, just in case.
-[X] Do your best to preserve one of the Abishai corpses.
-[X] Roughly every half-hour, check for Illyrio's presence with the Wayfinder.
--[X] Once gathered, explain to the sellswords what their masters had planned for them, abandoning them to die to undead unleashed in an attempt to harm us. Not even a betrayal, they were of such low esteem that they were incidental, their deaths an afterthought. Mere things to use and toss aside by she-of-many-colors, at her whims, she would reduce them to less than men. She is a poor god to follow, and an even worse employer. Her wages are death, and her reward an eternity of being one of her things.
--[X] However, despite how little she values them, they are hers. She will not let them go, and on their own she will reclaim them and use them until they are dead and ruined, and then there will be no escaping her. Their only hope is someone powerful enough to openly oppose her and defeat her mortal servants. Someone like you. They must denounce her, and never give her worship again. If they do so, and travel west to your lands, they might regain their freedom to work how they wish, for who they wish, under your protective aegis.
---[X] Take the officers aside, and cross-examine them to determine their character, who have directly contracted with demons or devils, who were the most vocal supporters of Tiamat, and who might be a true Blackfyre diehard loyalist still. Hang the men guilty of those things for their crimes, and for leading their men into the worst folly.
---[X] During the interrogations, do your best to learn of where else Illyrio has been operating, and where other detachments of the Golden Company might be.

Viserys: "I know you don't want to do this..."
Richard: "That's an understatement your grace."
Viserys: "... but think about all the good you could do ..."
Richard: "I have done plenty of that without."
Viserys: "Sure, but it's great fun. And unlike me, you can skip most of the work and directly reap the benefits."
Richard: "Your grace. I draw the line at you declaring me a messiah."
Viserys: *sigh* "Alright. I will ask Glyra instead."
Richard: *twitches* "You wouldn't."
Viserys: *grins* "You know me better then that."
