I can't tell if @DragonParadox is really a font of supervillain mastermind levels of keikaku doori, or if his players are just that intensely paranoid due to past experience, both in their own tabletop games and here.

Or a measure of careful planing by is peers. Also you might want to consider your source is not the most objective. What you are hearing is the fears of a girl who suspects her freedoms and thus her life is a lie.

Demons and Devils must be called, they're like a shitty relative, super annoying when some ass invites them to the picnic but they aren't going to pop over for a cup of sugar on their own perogative.

Deep Ones don't work well with anyone, they're busier than most of our available enemies and quite restricted in number, we can actually put a dent in their numbers which isn't true of nearly any other Planar organisation plus they will definitely not share.
 
That's the crux of it, really. The Devils have to operate by strict rules. The Demons operate by no rules, which will for sure rustle plenty of jimmies.

The Deep Ones are out for themselves, only themselves, and their long-running plans include, at a guess, nothing short of conquering... everything, so that everyone is food for them.

The genies are all organized, numerous and well equipped. We can't compete with any of them right now, whereas our main foes we might have a chance at thwarting, long enough for more Elminsters, Blackstaffs and such and so on to start popping up and taking some of the load off our backs.

If they don't try something stupid like "slay the dragon" first, that is. In which case, fuck our luck.

You forgot that a called demon that frees himself / is set free is free to do as he sees fit. That includes starting a demon cult and opening permanent gates to the Abyss. Same for devils.
Pressing deep ones will in no way cause them to look how to bolster their numbers, like, by instigating cults for example.

Deep Ones are already doing that? They're called Sahuagin, they need humanoids not humans and human cults to them would be stupid when they can just be in charge of regular non-cult society, much less objectionable.

Devils and Demons that free themselves can and will be destroyed, Gates are not easy and are quite obvious as we learned with the Mantarys quest. Even then, close it and clean up.

You can't close a Genie's ability to Planeshift.

  2. STEP TWO: Find some space in an uncontested plane of existence. (Note to self research if there's a plane of beach parties and non stop rum...)​
  3. STEP THREE: DEFENSES DEFENSES DEFENSES. NOTHING SO MUCH AS FARTS WITHOUT US KNOWING ABOUT IT, SEEING IT IN REAL TIME, AND DECIDING WHETHER OR NOT IT LIVES OR DIES.​
  4. STEP FOUR: Put a ring on Lya's finger because fuck societal norms we're in beach party land and we make the fucking rules.​
  5. STEP FIVE: Chill out and watch the world burn from a safe distance.​
  6. STEP SIX: Have festival after said world burning, Invent Margaritas to drink during so.​
