@Takesis @Diomedon :
Bid her to be silent.

That sounds crazy rude. Like I get the intent, but why is it always so... Bullish, like advise, or ask will do just as well imo.[/B]

You're not wrong. I was more focused on fixing the typo where we "bide her to be silent" to miss if we should use that language at all.

"Advise her to be silent" might be a better way to put it.

With the ribbon of disguise, I'm mildly worried that they have some low level ability to detect magic (or are suspicious and have enough will saves to see through the glamor), and if we try to use a magical disguise it'll attract more attention than if we stick to mundane misdirection.

English may be my third language, but I'm quite verbose with it.
"Bide" is another word for remain, or stay somewhere.
"Bid", means offer.

We should all just talk in our native language and let Overlord google translate if need be!

Feels like half of the creative writing forum would learn romanian right quick. :p

Oh and

But Ill be watching you fish of many blue hues.

That talk about how much of a useless shit Robert has been made me think. Here and now with the magic and grumpkins rising would have been just about perfect for him a decade ago.

Now he is too busy fighting the wife and wallowing/drowning his depression to go out and be that vigorous warlord of his youth.

Bide is almost always used idiomatically, like "bide you to be silent" doesn't work, but "bide your tongue" does (and means "I command you to be silent, or else" in connotation).

Edit: Other uses include "Bide my time." Bide is an archaic word, and so really only remains in English in certain phrases.

"Command" is what comes to mind in this context; Do you "offer someone to be quiet" or "command someone to be silent"?

We can't offer her to remain silent because it would be a suggestion. We can command her to be silent because aside from being crowned by her king, we are more in command of the situation in this new world.

In any case, the point is moot since I've edited it again.

Or just ask her not to draw attention to herself? Rhaella's not stupid, and she'll trust us for having good reasons for hiding her.

I actually made the point that "Bid" is rude, and suggested a not-dickhead alternative such as "ask" or "suggest".

The post you quoted is me sharing my understanding of the word "Bid" (which is/was in the original vote) with the person I was replying to so as to explain why I felt it was a bad idea to use "Bid", with the assumption on my part that to "command" Rhaella is a bad thing.

It's more of an interpersonal relations kind of thing, I'm assuming Viserys has authority, this is about how he interacts with his re-alive mother

In a surprising twist, the mighty Sorcerer with a golden tongue, who made himself a kingdom and can turn at will into a 12m tall draconic beast, is in charge of the situation.

Who could have guessed? :V

Let's see...

1. Introduce ourselves as Viserys Targaryen, King in the Stepstones.
2. Let the Night's Watch gawk over the Children of the Forest.
3. Tell the Night's Watch that we're well aware of the rising threats Beyond the Wall and have no intention to leave them without aid. Also confirm any fears that they might have--the Long Night is coming.
4. Dany & any other party members we teleport to the Wall hand out magical healing for free.
5. We brief the Night's Watch on everything we currently know about the Others--that the Wall can hold them back through the might of its magic, that the Others can be slain with dragonglass and dragonsteel.
6. We give the Night's Watch lots of gold.
7. We promise them aid in weapons, armor, supplies, and manpower, and that we will bury them in dragonglass.
8. We speak with Aemon, have our family reunion, copy their library as much as we can.
9. We give them a diluted version of our legendary map--geographically accurate, but without the magical ruins marked or the rewards and enemies therein.
10. We bring up the matter of the giants, the wildlings, and the bear spirit. Bottomline, the giants and wildlings need to be somewhere south of the Wall before the Long Night. We can handle the details on that end.

Mainly this. @Goldfish, can we just not?

That seems to be the way the wind is blowing, so I won't make an issue of it.

I don't really think we would have many issues with Resurrection. Someone asks and we can say sure, just give us a diamond worth 2000 IM and 1,000 IM in gold. Breaking the laws if nature is expensive, you know? Time consuming, too, so it might take us five or six months to get your order taken care if.

I just failed to see any actual benefit in not hiding it, at least for now.
@DragonParadox, do we have an extra Ribbon of Disguise with us?
We have access to all magic items in our Bag of Holding, so yes, we have the Ribbon of Disguise.
