Look, I say we own it. Admit it point blank: there is a power behind the wall that can raise the dead, and it will only come to those who pray before the heart tree. The Seven speak pretty words, but the Old Gods grant wished to those who fight the darkness.
We could even say that they rewarded us for our pledge to reinforce the Wall!
Maybe other people will help the Wall then :D

@Duesal - are you an overproud young mother now?

That's not really something I want to spread around any time soon. There's a good reason we hid Alyssande being brought back to life, and that same reasoning applies with hiding Rhaella for a few months or years. And that aside, now we know that the Old Gods can't hand out magic as freely as we thought. For every major action they take, the Others are allowed another.

We can say that the Old Gods help against the Long Night, even that they grant blessings in exchange for some form of sacrifice, but I don't want to spread the word that they'd be willing to bring back the dead. Not yet, at least, when the Long Night is looming in the distance.

I don't want to disguise Rhaella's gender or identity. Let someone make an issue of either. Perhaps they will enjoy some time as a turtle?

The last thing we need is everybody wanting a Resurrection out of us, specially since we'd probably have to tell many of them no. Certainly there's a whole array of people with dead babies who are going to have to be told no, many of whom won't take it well.

Therefore, Resurrection stays on the down low, at least until we're playing our cards in Westeros.

Is there any benefit for us, though? The way I see it, announcing Rhaella here and now paints a giant target on her back thanks to the Lannisters

Not to mention, the Faith and the Faceless Men.

Enough preening, we need plans!

The devil seems not around. Preliminary plans:

[X] We come in peace.
-[X] Rhaella ties her hair and hides inside a hood. Hand her a Ribbon of Disguise to take the guise of a woman with First Men ancestry. Ask her to be silent about who she is. If anyone asks, she's a sorceress.
-[X] Have Dany cast Tongues for herself and Soft Strider if she wishes to. Otherwise she's our interpreter.
-[X] Hail the Swords in the darkness, the Watchers in the Walls, the Shields that guard the realms of men, with Soft Strider by our side.
-[X] We are Viserys Targaryen, King in the Stepstones, and party. Who lately have requested passage from Eastwatch if they haven't been told by Cotter Pyke yet.
-[X] Ask for passage and to speak with Lord Commander Mormont on matter of great import with regards to the Night's Watch's cause.

Yeah, until full Resurrection in within our own power, it's a really bad idea to let the fact we have accomplished it slip out. Like, Alysandre slipping out is annoying and might cause complications with the faceless men, but we could deal, due to having Raise dead (it only works with this much diamond, and only if action is taken quickly, like days quickly). I don't want to have to be the one on the front end of dealing with that issue, but we could.

Resurrection getting out will be ten times worse, because they'll just accuse us of lying when we say we can't do it for them.

Robe and hood is the best option.

"Who's this? An old ally we met north of the wall." And leave it at that... its even true.

Point blank refuse any more questions about her.

By the way, when we speak with Aemon, I want to fetch Lya and have her set up a Mage's Private Sanctum to make sure we can talk without being overheard. Oh, and also fetch Vee so both of them can help us start to ferry Children back to Sorcerer's Deep.

@Takesis, make sure to introduce ourselves as Viserys Targaryen, King in the Stepstones.

The Night's Watch won't deny us passage--even those who don't like Targaryens--since we have seventeen Children of the Forest in our company. And I want everyone to know who we are right away, just like with Eastwatch. DP even told us we'd have a diplo bonus with the Night's Watch since quite a few of them were Targ loyalists from Robert's Rebellion who wouldn't bend the knee.

It makes me sad we just cant go and liberate them... at least some of them will live to see their homes and family again, once the Wall is obsolete.

Because why would we arbitrarily divide the Empire's North and Far North Provinces?

I think we need to declare our identity, to prove that we belong on the other side of the wall. Dany being our sister also should help them be slightly more at ease. We're not up to anything super-nefarious with our eight year old sister in tow.

Something like this?

[] We come for peaceful passage.
-[] Rhaella ties her hair and hides inside a hood. Bid her to be silent. If anyone asks, she's a sorceress.
-[] Have Dany cast Tongues for herself and Soft Strider if she wishes to.

we also don't want anyone getting any stupid ideas like praying for a resurrection especially since some things you don't want answering your prayers

Done.

"Ever wonder where the hell the kindly Children of the Forest handing out aid to the righteous are?"

Rereading the interlude. Apparently, they're with us.

Might want to hand Rhaella that ribon of disguise before they get here... a simple robe is a flimsy disguise. One simple breeze and suddenly there's an older, suspiciusly similar to Viserys woman which rocks the valyrian looks.
