Then at least let's continue the story with taking over SD and admit to Relath's existance.

The issue with not talking about dragons is that we just turned into a big-ass dragon to fight another dragon, all while speaking draconic.
You see why distracting from that would look incredibly, stupidly obvious in a way no bluff in the world can cover?

No. We've walked that ground twice now. I'm not going over it a third. When we speak of visiting Relath's city (can't remember the name) we 'come clean' on the matter. Not a moment sooner.

The story was interrupted before we came to the part about confronting Damphair and actually taking control of the town.
We should pick up there.

Even without Relath, at least the sacrifice to the OGs has to come by now.

Continuing with the "clean" version of the story would just leave larger and larger holes to be filled with whatever bad things she can imagine.

Given how swiftly (and unrealistically, but I'm not complaining)

Hmm... I guess Viserys or Daenerys would be able to see or guess the following so it's not really spoilers to say so (not to mention all the interludes):

Rhaella has lived much of her life for and through her children, not very healthy but there you have it. She had a frankly heart-breaking number of miscarriages and she was married to Aerys. Were it anyone else in the whole wide world besides her last two living children telling her all this insane stuff there would not even be a prayer of her reacting so well.

Be open to her questions, however, and make it clear at the beginning that if she would rather talk of other things you are entirely willing to do so. Something along the lines of "Would you like me to continue the story of my journey? Or would you prefer to talk of something else? You must have questions." The intent here is to give her an opening to ask things of us with her in control. Given what she just witnessed, this is probably more needed than even she's aware of. If she'd prefer to simply listen, however, that is also her choice. Give it to her.

No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

When mention had been made of this Damphair having made pacts with sinister powers and driven his followers to do likewise even the stoic knight had shifted slightly in his saddle.

DP, could you confirm yay or nay that we covered the full conquest of TD, if not its refounding as SD?

Like, I get that. But this is still vastly faster than I'd call realistic, regardless of source. Adapting to worldview changes of this order takes...ye gods...weeks and months. It's not even how she's reacting to them, it's....how she's internalising everything so smoothly given that (as you say) she hasn't had that healthy a mental and emotional life before now. Again, I'm not complaining; this isn't TherapyQuest, and liberties with the complexities of the mind need to be taken here otherwise it'll drag on longer than our questions to Bloodraven did. Thank you for the confirmation on her mental structure, however :p

Holy! I feel for her. Look at all these siblings we never had:

Edit: Link to Rhaella's page. Also, the bolded part. Daeron exists!

  1. The conquest has been spoken of, no Relath.
  2. She isn't really internalizing yet. It's half 'I'm living in a fairy tale, might as well go with it' and half 'thank gods my children are safe'." That said the fact that she is managing to put on a good facade through all this... call it magical dragon blood.:p

Targaryens are great at things. It's genetic.

Some are great at ruling people. Some are great at being terrible rulers.

Rhaella is great at being the epitome of a composed and dignified noblewoman, when by all rights she should be falling apart. Though that strength of character but also will would probably serve her well in learning magic. You need will like steel to go far, beyond cantrips.

And thus, no mention of Relath shall be made until we talk about our first visit to his city. And yeah, it's the honeymoon stage coupled to 'plot device'. Thought as much :V

Oooh, minor question. Can we take the mention of magical dragon blood as confirmation that she could in fact learn magic? I think we've given her enough in the way of mental trauma at this point :p I accept that she might not wish to learn for...um...a while. But it's a valid question!

BTW id not one find it even slightly noteworthy that Viserys' reaction to the breath of that can rewrite reality was: "I must become a god so I can fix it"?

She probably can yes.

Speaking of being a strong woman... If we ever get to killing Lucan, and The Father choose Bonifer Hasty next, we would have the perfect opportunity to corrupt him.

Even if he does not get chosen, Bonifer the Good is a prime candidate for corruption or elimination. He should be high up in The Seven's heirarchy.

It was the thread's first reaction to try and get around this with Salient Divine abilities too, though I doubt we'd burden ourselves with godhood just for that benefit.
Viserys, who has spend less time thinking about the issues and limitations of gods would naturally think in that direction.

She probably can yes.

It mirrors the thread's thoughts on the matter. Viserys has his own form of Targaryen madness. Dany's was "be good to the detriment of myself because the world can't be good enough on its own".

Viserys' is "be just and protective to the point that my reach extends further and more wisely dispensed than all the Gods I know of" taken to a logical extreme. Become a god himself.

Final (for now) question for you @DragonParadox

Would it be possible to ask for the next update to be a Rhaella interlude? I know we've been asking for them a lot, but I'd be really interested in seeing how she reacts to both our looting of the remains of a mythical beast and then how we continue from there. And yes, this is basically me blatantly asking for another look at her mental state from the inside. Not going to even try to deny that.

And to be honest, Rhaella interludes are great. I really like seeing outside the lens of our character during personal interactions, and this is a momentous occasion.

She probably can yes.

Could Viserys actually become a god with divine rank 0? I would imagine there would be a lot of requirements like level 10 in like like three prestige classes. hundred thousand worshippers. Maybe some divine blood. Some divine assistance. a million or more gold as a sacrifice probably more. A shit ton of regents. And like a year long ritual or something I would guess. Could that actually be possible? By the way considering the absurd amount of experience that would be needed to get this shit the quest would probably be like 6 years in minimum.

Never have you more fervently wished for a god's power before, not the gasp of stillborn light you held in Mantarys but truly power divine, you own and no others' that you might turn back even the void at need.

She probably can yes.

I had it quoted and was ready to write and then dinner came along and then I couldn't find quite the right Darth Sidious Demotivator.

We could have Dany induct her in the faith of Draconic Glory. Her loyalty is for her children first and foremost. Even just an Adept would be awesome. She does not have to go all the way of being tempted by Tiamat's power and reject it.

That said, we should get to making a Draconic Glory temple or altar for now. No, we're not getting a cult to worship us, honest :V

Sure, I can manage one more interlude.
