The cold, dark corner of Viserys' subconscious which is composed of me most certainly cares.

We can take reasonable precautions, as in equipping her with a means to fend off mind control (PfE Amulet), heal her wounds in an emergency (Healing Belt), and disguise her appearance at will (Ribbon of Disguise), along with guards with superhuman abilities (Minotaurs) to protect her. We can also make available instruction in magic, if she wishes to learn how not to be useless.

But I won't support pouring huge amounts of money down the drain.

There is another route, still a little expensive but it works and operates on similar logic to favouring Mindblank etc, don't resist, avoid entirely.

Make use of things like really conservative Contingencies "Upon >5hp damage incurred Planeshift to Shadow Tower".

For most it is not helpful to do this as adventurers you expect to be in danger and the above is a waste of time and resources, indeed more dangerous to the party than just you taking the hit and continuing to contribute to the fight.

For NPC Mother who is a combat liability it's workable.

Which is as BS as the dozen other times she's stolen credit for Viserys' genius.

I continue to be salty at people who craft votes with "have Lya come up with X".

We are Viserys' mind, and he is perfectly capable of coming up with things and telling people to do the legwork.

You know, King shit.

At the time, it hadn't happened a lot, so that was fine, but now I wish it was Viserys who came up with the idea - he did have (at that time) 14 Int. Viserys bending his cleverness to use magic to make money and the practicalities of such is the kind of thing he should have thought about a lot. The thread does. :D

But yeah, that buisness with the Stock exchange was all Viserys

Did stock exchanges exist pre telegram irl? Because if not, and the concept didn't either, then that woman representing the bank is damn clever to grasp it straight off. And see the value. Then again, that sort of thing is part of her demanding job :D

Maybe Brag Mode is best for this trade nonsense.

It's a valid concern of the regular noble but we are different, we are Viserys Targaryen.

Normal Noble = being beholden in some way to non-Noble merchants and that influence is not desirable by their Peers or their Lords. General conflicts of interest.

Viserys Trade = the opposite for us, we are no longer beholden to wealthy benefactors and future subordinates, we have our own income even without smallfolk to tax (in the beginning), our own fleet, our own army, our own land (outside the Crownlands). Also we're King, there is no conflict of interest, merely our interest.

Normal Noble = takes time away from consideration of the realm and subjects. It's not worth their time to know these things.

Viserys = More learned than any Maester in literally everything already.

Normal Noble= trade requires compromising with those below your station. At times resulting in poor bedfellows.

Viserys = First, everyone is below our station. Second we are never required compromise because we hold pretty much all the cards and it shows, our "compromises" are mostly to bring people into the fold and keep them there.

Normal Noble = Personal prosperity v Prosperity of the realm.

Viserys = Realm therefore Personal Prosperity = Prosperity of the realm.

In general this is true of anytime we break the mold. Nobles delegate to experts and avoid showing their lack of expertise.

We are more expert than just about anyone that could be delegated to.

More deadly than the entire Kingsguard.

We spin webs as well as any spider (we renegotiated the terms of loan to the Iron Throne without even sitting on it, we are regulating the finance of our Usurper, I think this was glossed over by many)

Etc.

@Snowfire

Can you show her some of the above, how it allows us to remain independent of influences we would rather avoid.

Targaryen regencies and other situations where the King was forced to take more counsel than would usually be the case has only ended in hardship for our House and the Realm as a whole.

Also we're just that good and it will also help for her to be able to justify the deviation from the norm with her son is a genius and therefore standard rules need not always apply.

The first publicly traded joint stock company is generally recognized to be the Dutch East India Company which was founded in 1602. It's not too much of a reach for the Iron Bank representative to grasp the concept seeing as it already uses a proto-stock system but with keys instead of shares.

Coming up with the idea is revolutionary, it's not nearly as difficult to realise the limitations of the business you are in, that's really all she's doing.

She knows variable X impacts profit, and then she's told directly, initiative Y will benefit variable X and therefore profit.

Mutating traditional Corn to yield exponentially more kernels per plant is revolutionary, knowing that more corn per plant means more gold per acre is not.

How are we going to tell Rhaella that the Targaryens having the blood of the dragon thing is a bit... literal?

Well, since that part has already been spoiled for you, yes, Viserys and Lya are an item. Viserys negated the arranged marriage between himself and Arianne Martel because he did not wish for Lya to be a mere mistress.
Wait does viserys plan on getting more people and making a harem? Just wondering do not particularly care if he does or not.

I am confused what does that have to do with their wedding should be fucking awesome with explosions and giant constructs and shit. and giants?
It's a joke on how a wedding like that with Minotaur jousters would not need horses because I'm a motherfucking Minotaur bitch. We need a Minotaur party member by the way preferably a Barbarian. The Minotaurs have really paid back as a investment with how awesome they have been for Sorcerers Deep. Now if only we could get Orcs, Gnolls and Bugbears for our Legion of Doom.

Eh, it'll be a spectacle if we can manage. The ideal time, I would think, would be before the whole Westeros thing is set off so nobles don't get clever ideas about political marriages, say something really insulting to Lya, and then complain that we're killing people who insult our mistress (she's only a mistress! What an unreasonable guy :V ).

I'm not sure if we can swing it, given how volatile Westeros appears to be. Still, that's what we'll likely be aiming for.

There has been a surprising amount of armed rebellion over the matter of who a Targaryen King marries, or who they didn't marry.

So I imagine we're going to have to crush at least a few in exchange for marrying Lya. Not that she isn't worth the hassle. She absolutely is.

fuck the people of westeros if they dont like Lya then what are they gonna do kill her shes a fucking powerful mage who will be able to casually decimate armies by the time they're married. Heck she could take down armies now albeit small one with mostly people consisting of levels 1-3 maybe 4.
heck even if they kill her will just kill all those involved preferably an army to sacrifice to the old gods to resurrect her.
