@DragonParadox what does an Other taste like? Now I'm really curious.

What? Don't look at me like that you all thought it too. I just said it first. We're a dragon we can eat anything. With the right feats we can gain their powers and abilities in doing so.

I feel like I'm the only person on thread not interested in shipping shenanigans that sees Richard as a person fully capable of finding his Best Waifu(TM) on his own.

Saaame goes for lycanthropy. Frankly, getting our troops infected with this kind of shit, even if research proves it controllable and curable is something I draw the line before.
Using as an asset already created malformed and suffering people? Okay, sure, why not.
Making more of them? Ehhh, this line of decision-making feels like it veers into chaotic-stupid territory.

That's why I've been saying kill it with thermobaric effects. I want the crazy cannibals dead

Innately magical beings have conceptual qualities that would be more dangerous to ingest without, as you said, special requisite feats. Part of the reason we did not try to eat that ulitharid's brain.

With its juicy, juicy knowledge.

Just went back and checked. Recitation is +2 Luck to AC, Saving Throws, and Attack Rolls, or +3 if those affected worship the same deity as the caster.

So, Dany and Viserys are losing out on +3 to AC, saves, and attacks, while everyone else is losing the +2.

I really want to put it back into the Persistomancy rotation.
By reciting a sacred passage or declaration, you invoke your deity's blessing upon yourself and your allies while causing confusion and weakness among your enemies. The spell affects all allies and foes within the spell's area at the moment you cast it. Your allies gain a +2 luck bonus on attack rolls and saving throws, or a +3 luck bonus if they worship the same patron deity as you. Enemies suffer a -2 luck penalty on attack rolls and saving throws. After casting the spell, you are free to take further actions during the spell's duration as you see fit.

Frozen Ouzo is clearly the superior White Walker drink.

Speaking of drinks, we or some of our allies have a spell that freezes stuff, right? But not the populace. We may own cliffs of salt, but the Night's Watch has a "mountain range" of ice. What's a few blocks off it?

I propose we do business with the Night's Watch so that they'll have income and so will we. We could build some ice storage for our trading ships and ship ice from Eastwatch to SD for the populace to consume, or sell it further south.

It will make a killing surely! Authentic The Wall™ Ice! Taste the sword in the darkness!

I still think that we would be better served with making a Control Temperature item and producing ice locally. Weeks worth of travel by ship would make it difficult to get the stuff anywhere.

A facility in SD could supply at least Tyrosh and maybe Sunspear and the Selkies would definitely love it.

The Ice might have some kind of repel evil or undead affects inherent to it's making we could use or it will backfire horribly in our face if we try to take parts of the Wall off even if it is just the Ice.

Frostburn Excerpt

We could make a frigde from that.
I'm sure they'll have that for sale on the Plane of Air.

Bu-bu-but the Marketing!

But yeah, I get it. Much more economical doing something else and all. Do we have any plans for an ice based Arcanum? She could be corporate Lya.

Anyway, in other stuff, I just finished watching Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. It was unexpectedly fun, and got me all hyped up for the eventual Sothorys quest. Could we have a mineral based Arcanum? She could be explorer Lya.

Viserys could do a pretty good Indiana Jones impression with his fondness or shall we say natural tendency to subconsciously seek out the most dangerous places possible getting involved in massive evil scheme's and conspiracies and his love of dangerous possibly evil woman.

Let's not try to dissasemble ancient magical artefacts and sell them for parts, right?
We'd just be setting someone up for a fetchquest in the future :D

We have already bitten a Shadelich and it tasted less bad than the Ulitharid, so I guess Undead/Icefey will be bad but not terrible?
These are not Show Others. @DragonParadox said earlier these Others are more in keeping with the dark tales of Sidhe of Celtic myths than the show. So I'm pretty much expecting them to be the non-Christian definition of Demon. Powerful, immortal beings not of this earth, with capital 'A,' Alien morals and motivations.

DP mentioned early in the thread that he uses Winter Court Fey for them.

Celtic Winter Court or Dresden Files Winter Court. The Celtic ones are more terrifying.
How terrifying we talking?
And speaking of the Fair Folk with how deeply involved Bravo's is becoming with one of thier Courts they may try to boost thier Water Dancers by empowering them with Fey magics. With traditions like the First Sword I expect them to start churning out spell blade type classes.

On the werebears: these are not raving lunatics. No saints, but not Stupid Evil by a long shot.

"The Long Night is coming and all the weak ones are just fodder for the enemy, thus should be killed off and properly disposed now" is actually logical reasoning. Immoral or not, it's logical.

Werebear fluff is that they are Lawful Good. Emphasis here should be at the lawful bit. They spend their days fighting evil in the forests and occasionally pass down their abilities if they grow old and fear the line might die.

By all accounts, it's a tremendously good deal.

As long as he doesn't do his impression near Yss.
While I'm sure he could pull it off I'm sure we'd rather he didn't take artillery potshots at KL with his own bursting heart.

  • [X] Visery assumes HHD form, then casts Shield, Haste, Searing & Agonizing Mass FireShield, and Mirror Image and Freezing Glance. Dany casts Sign, Righteous Wrath of the Faithful, uses Greater Magic Fang on Viserys, and uses her Holy Aura SLA.
-[X] Demand the werebears leave the cave, implying they are too cowardly to face the consequences of their actions.
-[X] Try to keep them alive, use Imperious Glare to cower them.
[X] Turn into LHD, activate Greater Blink, Mirror Image, Haste, Freezing Glance and Mass Fireshield
-[X] Go into the cave where the Wayfinder shows the bears to be

Yeah. Because a bunch of warriors without any logistics or supply behind them is so obviously going to work out.

It's not logical. It's stupid.
This is why the INT 6 Barbarian isn't allowed to make plans.
