The hilarious (or Picard worthy) part of all of this is the knight probably is completely innocent of anything more than the usual run-of-the-mill HONOR BEFORE REASON that is common in Westerosi nobility.

He probably sincerely just thinks he's avenging his dead brother by putting his personal grudges before even that of his duty to his liege lord.

Updating my plan.

[X] Viserys casts Nerveskitter on himself, then uses Greater Shadow Enchantment to duplicate a Greater Command spell, ordering everyone except for Richard, Garin, Tyene, and the Renplacement to Halt. If any knights or the Dogoi resists, he casts Celerity and repeats the Command. (Use Imperious Glare if Greater Command cannot be duplicated)
-[X] Tyene casts Close Wounds on the Renplacement. She then casts Mass Inflict Light Wounds on the area where Garin is fighting, but prevents it from damaging any party members, the Renplacement, or any of the knights.
-[X] Garin casts Wraithstrike as a Swift Action then continues to engage the Dogoi in combat.
-[X] Richard activates uses his Earring to gain See Invisibility and moves to assist Garin against the Dogoi.

He's super lucky Waymar wasn't here. The man might have been dead almost immediately after calling Tyene a whore.

I'm not terribly inclined to let that sorry excuse fly.

He could have brought up the matter in a less Aurane fashion and would have been able to satisfy his honour just fine. His liege and Viserys told him to cut out the slander and just say his piece, but he just kept going on about Richards various failings. And it's news to me that honor demands you to randomly call woman whores when they don't agree with you.

There's grieving your brother and then there is being a self-righteous ass.
Good riddance.

Actually please exclude Faerenly from the Command, he's not our enemy right now, he's already down and it will be a Huge point after the fight.

We can make the argument that his Knight's "challenge" was too convenient in timing and we couldn't know who to trust except him (as the victim).

Build trust, sow doubt and the impact on the battle is the same.

I declare what that Knight did when he besmirched Richard's honor initially 1 Auranes hard.

When he INCREASED the stakes of his stupidity despite being chastised by two men of Viserys and Renplacement's prestige and power/influence, he jumped up 4 Auranes to a hard 5.

When he called Tyene a whore, he LEAPED to a 9 hard on the scale.

He was Aurane stupid when he insisted on seeking satisfaction after calling Tyene what he did, because his words were truly empty.

Good point. Plan updated to exclude the Renplacement from the Command.

Also, lesson learned. Viserys' old berserk button was people insulting his lineage/right to rule.

Now that slides off his back like water off a duck.

His NEW berserk button? Insulting his friends.

BECAUSE FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC!

The way I see this, Renly is basically the ultimate construct.

One day far, far in the future I kind of want to have him studied by Lya. Not dissected or anything like that since he's technically alive and by all accounts seems to be running things well, but studied nonetheless.

Renly didn't make a deal with the Fey, he bargained with Skynet!

It Renplaced him with a reprogrammed T-1000 Terminator! :o

"AND MAGIC BELONGS TO ME!"

"Um, which magic Viserys?"

"ALL OF IT."

I'm wondering when people will stop assuming a restricted scope than what we state.

Viserys is a fantastic speaker, it has to be incredulity that's making them assume literally the most well spoken man on the planet was unclear.

It will fade in time, perhaps to our detriment.

"Please pass the water."

"Viserys we can't! It's crop season!"

The more I know about the fey, the nore thry seems like aberrations, but with a brand of insanity that resembles more the Oompa Loompas than C'thulhu

It's the hairless ape suit, it's making people forget that we are a goddamn dragon with all that entails.

I can't wait until we finally level up enough to show them all exactly what that means.

well, since we are dealing with devils again, how certain are we that this one is alone?
IC? not at all.
OOC? Is this a CR appropriate encounter for the party? If so, it's alone, if not, it isn't.
EDIT:
Can't really make IC guesses about this sort of thing, we've crossed into a realm where Dresden levels of paranoia are entirely appropriate and logical. To quote the man himself:
"Paranoid? Probably. But just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there isn't an invisible [Fiend] about to eat your face."

Quote edited in respect for Azel's sensitivities :D.

Another pleasant surprise is this:
While assassin devils are baatezu, they cannot summon other devils for support. In the twisted, arcane laws of Hell, they never enter into pacts that allow other devils to summon each other. In return, they are given free reign to slay any devil or being without fear of official punishment.
Funnily enough, the link in the update has this incorrect and says they can summon other devils, but page 114 of the Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells says otherwise.

So yay, we don't have to worry about a summon distracting everyone long enough for the devil to get away. :D

Can't even be sure of that, it's not Us v Devils.

There's third and potentially fourth parties involved.

E.g. We are restraining the Knights and protecting Faerenly, however if the Knights are targeted we would have to protect them too as we made them unable to protect themselves etc.

What Sqweaktoy said.

Also, the Commands Viserys will be using can affect up to 14 targets. With the party and Renplacement excluded, he'll be issuing an order to every being within 30 feet, including the 8 knights and Dogoi. That means up to five more Invisible opponents could be affected.

Something else that we need to address going forward. Now that perfectly infiltrating invisible teleporting assassin Devils who somehow have access to our itinerary are on the table, we kind of always have to be planning for them, don't we? From here on out every plan where we are going somewhere not somehow protected against them has to include 'be on the lookout for PIITADWSHATOIs'
