Devils are food, not nightmare-worthy.
Silly girl.

Aside from that, it's a very good thing that the precedent of killing Septons for talking shit about Magic already exists, we can continue that proud tradition!

@DragonParadox, I'm about to edit (you caught me in the nap), but so there's no confusion in the thread her name is Lanna Lannister, not Leila. Leila Hill is our baby Archivist. Lanna Lannister is the Sha'ir who helped Gerion successfully loot Valyria.

So Leila is level 8. At long last a more or less reasonably leveled rival.

Anyway, what happened? I missed the first (and second?) write ups.

And if I get this write, breaking the glass was a trap? Laid by the armour's ghostly kin?

If we are fighting ghosts, be sure to have Greater Blink, as we can then affect them normally.

Well you see said devil was holding one of her infant daughters in its claws while she desperately played for time (pretending to bargain) and hoped her familiar could get benign transposition for her to use.
Her fault for getting pregnant while an active adventurer.

No sane person does that, even Garin is risking a lot.

Better wait until retirement, I'm sure with enough healing magic pregnancy can still be safe at high age.

The elemental planes.
I'm guessing she's much higher than level 8 or 9, then.

What is she, 10? 11? 12?

EDIT: That being said, it does make me feel better that she's so miserable. And that Mindflayers are apparently bothering them as well. It's almost poetic justice. Cersei laughed at the Narrow Sea lords when they warned of the Mindflayers, and now her father almost got taken by one.

But holy hell, if this is Aberi who's come to see Lanna and Gerion they are going to fucking die the next time we meet.

She's gonna be around the level those erstwhile mindflayer hunters are at. So probably around 10-11, because she's been busy doing non-adventurer stuff. Gerion might be 11-12 by now.

Which is... angering. But it's not like Jaime is anything less than level 12 himself. GRRM describes his skill as "Aragorn" tier, if not his level of fitness (he's not a Dunedain, for starters). In ASWaH? He's probably a good deal more capable than his canon self. So at least worth 1 (one) Richard.

They could take Tywin's gold, kill a few Devils (which is a good thing no matter on whos orders) and then laugh in his face and Shift out if he wants to send them against us.
Here's to hoping. Sher for one is utterly against having any reason for us to see her as an enemy, but Aberi seems impulsive enough to maybe ally with the Lannisters to try to kill us.

I would not be surprised at all.

Cersei could feel the palpable rage half a continent away levels of angry?

There's this one scene in the show where Tyrion is asking her about how many Stark girls they have left, and she's like "...one".

"One? We had three Starks, and you let one get his head chopped off and the other escape? Father will not be happy."

And the look on her face... was delicious. Because his next words were "How's it feel to be the disappointing child for once in your life?"

Too bad Tyrion is probably still stuck up in the Rock, or I imagine he would have gotten the opportunity to drop this line WAY earlier.

Doesn't anyone else think it's literally insane to have children as an active adventurer?
Unless you don't care about the, then it's fine.

Not only can loads of enemies divine their existance and location, but you are always just a single, unsavable Love's Pain spell away from their death.

Wait until retirement, magic can fix any issues from age.
I hope Garin is enough of a sidecharacter that nobody targets his eventual children

Just about the only way to protect Garin's kids is to keep them in our Doomfortress at court, and surrounded by our Mageslayer bodyguards.

That is a very rational position. alas the decision to have children is usually emotional, or brought about by social pressure/expectation.

Yeah, im glad things are going badly for the Witch, if one of those fanatics gets to her lets send a gift basket to his Next of kin after murdering him and everyone else we suspect shares his views.

Pretty much. Mageslayer bodyguards and personal construct guardians.

And of course Amulets of PfE for all of them when they're born. And so many other things. We really do need to brainstorm more on this.
At least that had driven him to have a spell to ward the mind carved into his flesh so that it could not be torn from him as a ring might.
@DragonParadox, is this even possible? I thought a huge part of an item of PfE was the silver and everything that went into making the amulet or ring. Can you just carve the symbols into flesh and get away with it?

You need special tools and expertise and it costs a lot more but it can be done.

I don't know if @DragonParadox is using it as a reference, but there was an official, GRRM endorsed d20 game game for Game of Thrones back in 2005. I'm not sure how far into the book setting its material is, but there are PC levels assigned that should be pretty useful to determine what named characters could reasonably reach.

Gregor Clegan, for example, is Man-At-Arms 6 / Knight 4. Drogo is Raider 10 / Commander 3. Jaime Lannister is Man-At-Arms 1 / Noble 3 / Knight 3 / Brother of the Kingsguard 7.

Given that we are several years pre-canon, actually closer to a decade, all of these I mentioned, plus most of the others in the book, should be at least a few levels lower.
