You guys do realize that Tyrosh is totally going to pin all of this on us and use it to justify war right? When they get the news they're going to assume that we set all of this up to take over (they aren't totally wrong to be fair), sure it might take awhile to sort out the rumors but its too much of a coincidence for there to be a surge of cannibals and us just happening to be in the area.

So do we have any plans concerning the inevitable war between SD and Tyrosh?

Hopefully the same calamity will strike Tyrosh in a month or so and all the boozed up aristocracy will eat each other to death, while the slaves are relatively unscathed.

Sorry, I might not have communicated correctly, I meant do we actually want to take the city eventually, just repel its attacks or just cripple it?

Meh... chances are they will ask for help from something Stupid Evil, which will give token support to try and kill us if only because we're really pooping on their party, man, before we disrupt one portion of their plan and they turn on the nobles who 'hired' them.

And that's the major danger we are facing. After the first lost battle, or the second, our enemies are going to look for supernatural aid. And as was just mentioned, no lack of evil gods ...

While the gods have power and can influence the world in some ways, it's previous obvious that they're limited in what they can accomplish. Whatever happened to the Celestial Planes, there may still be an Ao-like overdeity enforcing a set of rules that restrict the interaction of the lesser gods with mortals. At worst, I think we might end up with another divine champion gunning for us.

Alternate theory: the lack of magic also hampered the gods; magic is back, gods are more active.
Edit: I bet DP prepared a 'nice' surprise stemming from Tiamat's emissaries. We ignored them for to long.

Well, most gods get their power from worship right?

So when magic faded, maybe most of the Gods were forced to survive off of worship and didn't have any power to spare to do an magic stuff.

An exception to this would of course be Tiamat or Bahamut, who were strong enough to cast True Ressurection without needing any worship, and the Old Gods, who were able to keep Greenseers around and keep Bloodraven alive.

Edit: The Faceless Men also get their Skinchanging through Blood Sacrifice, and the Black Goat of Qohor might be responsible for their ability to craft Valyrian Steel, and if so that would also be Blood Magic.

So it seems like the only ways that the Gods could affect the mortal plane once magic died was by being either stupidly powerful (Dragons/Old Gods) or through blood sacrifice and rituals (Black Goat/Many Faced God)

Wait, we let ships go? Like, our entire MO for this was no one gets away. We used magic to close the harbor so no ships would go away, and the fleet is supposed to be bringing our bird constructs of catch any ship attempting to flee.

Like, what?

Blame Dany. Our instructions were to make a wall to block the ships in the harbor, but not only was the wall not tall enough but she chose not to pursue the ships that got away.

On the bright side we know for a fact that Tyrosh can't touch us. We beat the magic-empowered Baratheon royal fleet on accident. There is nothing that Tyrosh can do to retaliate, unless someone starts making deals with devils out of panic.

It puts them on guard though, and increases the risk of a slave revolt we'll feel obligated to intervene in.

I'm blaming everything on Zagreus. *grumbles*

I'm actually half-tempted to fly out with our Wayfinder and finish the job. It's incredibly inconvenient for us if Tyrosh gets any kind of warning. I'd much rather whoever was behind the Dionysus plot think that their scheme worked and that the entire island was wiped out.

I was hoping for a solid object that blocked ships in, like 10-20 feet above yhe waterline, either a grid like a pataoe waffle or else a solid wall. Don't quite undefstand how any ships could get past that.

Maybe some struts to block it in. Next time illusions and or walls of sand/thorns can be inculded.

I honestly agree. I mean come on dude, I know some of us were planning in holding the normal festival a month from now anyways! And even if we weren't it's totally another thing entirely to fuck over the people who had nothing to do with this instead of the party. Dunno what to vote yet but uygghhh

She did block off the harbor but small boats are man portable. they were just dragged long the side of the anchorage until the cleared the blockage and Dany was not about to slaughter people whose only crime was fleeing from danger.

Not all of her spells are geared toward slaughter, though. For example, she had Command and Voice of the Dragon in her combat loadout. She could have stopped at least one of the ships.

I'll vote for it. In a way, it's more merciful. They don't have a good chance of making it to Tyrosh in shallow boats, or at least not all of them.

Fair. Dany is still best little sister.

Those sort of boats are pretty much incapable of making more than a river crossing, however. There's a reason they're called launches. I can get why people would have done it - better the sea than demons - but I can't see any of them making it out. Leaving aside the entire matter of navigation, skiffs of that sort have a terrible maintained speed even with oars. They should be within easy flight range even tomorrow.

Since the devil seems offline, and I don't like going the whole truth Goldfish is proposing, I'll present my outlined ideas for a speech.

[X] Plan Half-Truth's
-[X] Say that we're here because of signs and portents. We were investigating a possible magical disaster within a month (allude to the feast of Zangreus) that our sources advised us of.
-[X] We managed to subdue the instigators of the mad feast, alas we were not able to reach the leaders in time.
-[X] We blocked the harbor in the course of the investigation. We'll unblock it when we're sure the madness is over.
-[X] These things are what we defend against, that's why we built a kingdom with magic part of daily life.
-[X] We'll be happy to welcome them to our fold and instill magical protection on this port, but we don't like slavery. If they don't agree, they're free to leave once we unblock the port.

Edit: Nevermind, the devil is here.

[X] Plan New World Order
-[X] "People of Westhaven. I stand before you today for a different reason then I imagined. I came here to speak to your lords. I came here to see this city turned away from Tyrosh. I came here as a conqueror, but fate decided that this was not the role I have to play today."
-[X] "In my years on this world, I've travelled far and wide. Many people I have met. Seen the works of their gods. The societys they've built. Many times I felt revulsion at what I saw, but the madness perpetrated within these walls has eclipsed all of that."
-[X] "Brother striking brother down. Forcing themselves on each other like beasts. Feasting on the flesh of their fellow man to sate their desires. This we all witnessed this night and yet I've seen it so often before. No god was needed to plant the seed of this depravity, for it dwells in the heart of every man. When the voice of reason becomes a mere whisper, it will bloom."
-[X] "When I came to the Stepstones, I tried to fight this darkness. To bring order to the chaos. To protect those who could no longer protect themselves. To let people see where their actions led them and steer them from the dark paths they've followed. Sorcerers Deep has grown and flourished for these simple tenants. Flourished for the kindness and safety it offered to those in need. I thought that a great deed had thus been done, but here I stand today and must face the truth. It achieved nothing."
-[X] "Tyrosh still stands. A month hence, they will celebrate a feast in the name of the god who committed the atrocities of the last night. They will laugh and drink and not spare a single thought to you and those lost here while they praise the cruel creature who set you at each others throats for a perceived slight and it's own sick amusement. It is a city rotten to the core, who exalt their depravities, enabled by the countless men and woman bound in iron to serve them. Or do you want to tell me there is a difference between prying the flesh from a mans bones or having it split by a whip so that he may bring the wine faster?"
-[X] "Tell me. Is this the world we want to live in? Where we live and die for the amusement of a few lords and their mad gods? Where we are to spend our lives for empty glory and fleeting pleasures?"
-[X] "This world can be more. We can be more. Sorcerers Deep was the first step, but many lay ahead of us. Together we can bring forth a better world. A world that is at peace. A world where no man is valued as if he where a beast of burden. A world where we are free to live our lives instead of toys for those who think themselves our betters. Join me in this task people of Westhaven. Together, we can make it truth."

Thoughts? I thinkg I've got carried away a bit.

It sounds good to me.

It appeals to the slaves by talking about how all shall be equal and such, and appeals to everyone else by talking about how Tyrosh doesn't give a shit about them and paints us in a good light as their saviors.
