We are totally blaming Dionysus as an evil god of cannibals, and setting ourselves up as the benevolent saviors.
To be fair this likely would have happened even if we didn't speed up the date of the festival. Apparently someone had done something to get Dionysus mad so this event as unavoidable and in fact we saved more lives doing this early rather than later and us not being here.

If we dare, we could spin it like:
'We were warned of a great calamity to befall you and ventured to offer help, alas, we were not fast enough.
...
And now that I'm here, what about a change in the C-level?'

Still really curious about who and how someone did something bad enough to piss Dionysus off to the point of sending in his servants to fuck things up in the settlement.

Too bad we didn't grill enemy about it but suppose doesn't matter now since those that likely caused it have died.

Considering the amount of evil gods around, I'm surprised how Planetos is not even more fucked up than what it already is.

I mean, DP managed to make us face enough evil gods that R'hllor looks decent.

[X] Plan Bitterness and Roughspun Half-Truths
"People of Westhaven. Heed me well. What happened this night defies rational explanation-- or such a farce the God responsible would have you believe, the trick played upon all of us, with blood shed by Man's own hand and the broken blade of magic, directed away from any Just or constructive cause. The truth is, petty revenge stole away order and safety from you, the whims and umbrage taken in turn by the God these festivities would have honored, had they not instead made bloody work of it. The truth is, I came here this night to converse with your leaders, not to offer my hand in friendship, but to demand their fealty. What horrors I have witnessed this eve I could scarcely have imagined... but what I have seen has not steered me from the less well-trod path of the ruler's conviction. Perhaps you know me by reputation, maybe fame, likely infamy. It matters not. This I promise you. The one responsible for this will grant restitution... this I swear."

In case it wasn't obvious, this plan is basically Viserys talking around his part in all of this. The people will think he's pinning it on the God, but he knows in his heart he's promising to make this right for the part he played in it. He just knows that'll be easier if they don't think he's the cause of their dire straits.

I don't like speechifying, but here's what I've got so far. Huh, "speechifying" is actually a word, and I apparently spelled it correctly on the first try. Go figure...

[X] Plan "The truth will set your free, but first you must bend the knee."
-[X] "My companions and I came to conquer Westhaven, for the practice of slavery and the many barbarities practiced by Tyrosh are no longer acceptable among the Stepstones. If the plan had not been interrupted, even now I would be announcing that Westhaven had been peacefully taken under the aegis of Sorcerer's Deep. Those who wished to return to Tyrosh would have been allowed to depart, as I have no interest in making slaves of men. Alas, the foul god Zagreus, Lord of the Harvest, but also of Madness and Debauchery, saw fit to cast Westhaven low. The wine meant to celebrate him was instead used to spread an unholy madness, then inflamed beyond all reason by the Handmaidens of Excess, Zagreus' Chosen."
-[X] "Know that the Handmaidens are no more and Zagreus' ill deeds will not go unpunished, but there is much work to be done before we rest. All those slain in the night's madness must be purified by flame, else they will rise once more as flesh-eating monsters."
-[X] Once the cleanup is finished, welcome the survivors of Westhaven into our domain.

Like said earlier all he did was speed up the event cause the festival and likely same thing would have still happened later. His actions have at least limited the damage it would have caused had we decided to hold things off.

Well, there are places like Braavos where you can't own someone's life and blood magic is banned.
Honeypots. If there's no hope around, the game is no longer funny - how do you crush and grind hope if there isn't any?

I've noticed that a lot of Gods aren't listed in the section of worshiped gods on the front page, like that one the vampire dude worshipped or Yss or the Weeping Lady.
It might be that Yss isn't finalized yet; he's a god of dead and rebirth, and if DP goes with 'rebirth is the old in new clothes, not an exact copy', Yss character might still be malleable.

So MTB, what you're saying is, Hope is just another magical reagent being carefully cultivated by our evil overlords?

You guys do realize that Tyrosh is totally going to pin all of this on us and use it to justify war right? When they get the news they're going to assume that we set all of this up to take over (they aren't totally wrong to be fair), sure it might take awhile to sort out the rumors but its too much of a coincidence for there to be a surge of cannibals and us just happening to be in the area.

So do we have any plans concerning the inevitable war between SD and Tyrosh?

Now, look at it - what makes evil god thrive? And as our resident archdevil explained so eloquently - Valyria was a long-term project that brought a delicious soul harvest into Baator.
Now, how do you optimize that process?

How would they reach us to wage war?

Actually dispelling enough manaeds and do public sacrifice in Westhaven would be a good PR move. Thats my take from the survivors moof anyway.

Also cant we put our B or C team on investigating this mess further? It is a total time waste for the A teams.

Yeah. Terrify the shit out of them until they stop trying.

What more could we do? Unless they have mages who could counter us, which I'm fairly sure they don't, we can just sink whatever ships they send our way--or preferably, capture them, the slaves aboard, diplomance freemen into turning their cloaks. Eventually our navy will be able to do the job of "countering Tyroshi incursions" in our waters to the point that we don't even have to sortie out there anymore to lob another dozen fireballs at their ships on approach.

I mean, they're greedy slaving assholes... not stupid.
