Hm, ways to protect outsiders from true death?

We should eventually connect the demiplane to the dreamscape, like the Green gift of Tiamat but Daenerys power.

Immortal Dragon Emperor.

His immortal Outsider sister.

Are we starting a mortal pantheon?

Richard can be the God of 'Fuck the Gods'.

Ironically his worshipers will be the most theological and devout as they study the contradiction and preach of it's symbolism and insight into the contradictions of existence itself.

There was talk of Dany anchoring her soul coin in her own personalized dream demesne. She'd be literally unkillable at that point.

  • [X] Keep them in the tower (greater safety; no chance of incidents with the locals)
[X] Offer 3 full days of healing from all our healers: healing in mind, body and spirit alike.
-[X] When we have our magic school up and running within the next several month, offer to take no more than one student from each of the clans of He'nekar to train as mages with the chance to return home and not remain in our direct service as soon as their training is complete -- provided of course that they swear never to work against us.
-[X] They do not have the means to make full use of the mundane enchantment for weapons and armor, but we do. Offer them a discount (but not so much that we don't still profit) when we get that industry up and running for the first 5 weapons that each family commissions from your blacksmiths.
-[X] You've saved their town once before, and you went on to rid the world of the darkness in Mantarys. You do not work in half measures. Promise to defend them if needed. For now, Dany will make a Sending once every two weeks. Later we switch to better communication.
-[X] A huge part of your many generous offers is dependent on the fact that you expect to have extended contact with this town, rather than teleporting away and never setting foot here ever again. Explain that you would like to make this your own personal harbor to the east for trade with Mantarys, Tolos, and cities even further away. Wealth would once again come to He'nekar. Be clear, you're making an offer to explicitly own most of the harbor. It is a reasonable demand considering what you're offering in return -- a chance to truly prosper in relative safety. As owners of the harbor we'd charge the docking fees, but as the locals they would be able to charge taxes on all trade.
-[X] While here, have Vee extensively use Lay of the Land and Locate Object for Valyrian Steel.
    [X] TotallyNotEvil
[X] Give them the choice (encourages initiative; helps break up herd mentality; chance of appearing weak)

-[X] Trade between us and Mantarys will go through this town and they'll get a docking fee for all that lands here.
-[X] The first two weapons succesfully created with this will go to them

Made for arcane casters, not divine ones.

She will become an outsider from her own PrC, so she won't age. I just want her to have the chance to save up her soul somewhere in case she ides.
When Viserys hits level 16 what do you guys think about taking Dreamweaver too? It does sound like a good class and I don't remember it need divine casting ability. Plus it would really be a fitting class for a Dragon what with their whole sleeping for years at a time thing. If a dragon levels in that class he could adventure and grow stronger perpetually. Scary though a Dragon as dangerous and active on it's sleep as it is awake. Maybe even more so as it would be even less bound by the restrictions of the mortal plane. :turian:As strong as it believes it self to be and as resilient as it's pride.:turian:

@DragonParadox - don't think the leading vote will change.

Oh shit.

DP doppleganger.

Can't decide if RL doppleganger or meta warning of in game doppleganger is the worse outcome.

I'm just gonna go to sleep and hope it works itself out, absolute worst case scenario this is an even broader issue and I'm replaced too, jokes on him though, I have work.

Your move possibly existent doppleganger.
Don't worry, that was just a minor overlap from one of the mirror-universes.

Also, @DragonParadox, heads up that before we teleport relay to Mantarys then to TD, we wanted to have Vee and Dany ready to spam Alter Fortune to make sure the dracolich doesn't escape.

@Duesal, the split of taxes and fees ensures that both sides profit.

We provide and maintain a harbor and profit from every ship that docks, thus giving us incentive to attract as many as possible.
Lamentation provides the location and is paid in taxes for their acceptance of our business here.

Both sides only profit if there is trade and the more the better.
Both sides can kill the trade by raising the costs on their side too much.

This ensures that we work together or fall together, thus promoting honesty and cooperation.

That sounds like 'foresighted pragmatic', not 'lawful evil'. Are you sure you didn't don a Cap of Common Sense?

Just so you guys know, I've been awake for 26 hours now, and hope to collapse for like 10, if the gods allow it.

It'd be cool if any level up vote were to happen on the last update of the day.

Part MXCIV: Tenth Kindred
Tenth Kindred

Twenty-Fourth Day of the Third Month 292 AC

While Ser Richard, Waymar and Garin take on the thankless task of keeping the bull-men in order, Xor and Lya struggle to study the tower with the rowdy guests in residence Tyene and Vee offer up healing of mind body and soul to all who need it. As you had expected curing the aches and pains of a life lived in full do much to sweeten the emissaries tempers, yet to their credit the men and woman of the Nine Kindreds do not dishonor the trust they have been given by their people... all the better truly for you have no interest in cheating them. That has its place but not in what you hope to be a profitable long term relationship.

The offer of a discount for enchanted armor and weapons gets a mixed reception. While some of the elders rightly point out that a slightly sharper sword (be it even over the limits of mundane craftsmanship) would make little difference to a tribe of hundreds. "Better to send two warriors instead of one carrying such a dearly bought treasure," they said. Others recalled tales of specters and haunts (no mere children's fables in these still sorrowing lands) and how they could only be driven back with relic and ritual.

Finally to sweeten the deal on the third day you offer to train one mage from each of the clans asking no oaths of allegiance to you and yours. By then of course the merest dullard would have realized you sought something more than the tablet before you to offset such generosity. One does not come to power as an elder in He'nekar (nor indeed live long enough to have the chance) by being dull yet they do not probe, waiting for your offer.

When you finally make it, couched in the most diplomatic manner your silvered tongue can muster the discussion turns... spirited. The offer of protection for dominion strikes squarely in the heart of the crux of the existence of these insular, stubborn folk who had clung to the ruins of their ancestors through the very ruin of the land and sky and all the hardships of a world gone bad.

They ask for time to consider your offer and bring word back to their people... One day turns to two then three as only the children come to gawk, no more young men and women looking for adventure. You are tempted to stop the healing sot that they will not profit from procrastination, but Dany speaks against it for kindness' sake and Tyene from practicality of putting pressure on the tribal gatherings.

Twenty-Eight Day of the Third Month 292 AC

At last on the fourth day since you had made your offer the delegates return. "The Raft-Folk are no more," the spokeswoman says, with the slow measured candies of deep formality. "Where once there were Ten only Nine remain for the dangers that stalked the ancients come again into the world, but we are not them. We will not bend our heads in true supplication to any lord for his power for that is not our way... but it is also the way of the city to welcome those who come in peace to make a place among us in unclaimed places. The water is unclaimed and the shore also. We would be honored for you and yours to be counted the Tenth Kindred, dragonlord."

Choose one:

[] Ask Glyra about her changed nature

[] Talk to Azema of what she would prefer to do in your service

[] Speak to Aebys about his interests and plans

OOC: That deal was touch and go, even VoD since it was not you trying to convince the tribes themselves, but the delegates with their merely human skills.
