One more teleport to go - all of the party except for Viserys is in the tower?

@Duesal, if we own the harbour, they get the taxes but we get the docking fees.
Which is a reasonable compromise for both sides.

[X] Duesal

I'd rather a percentage split. Too much chance of disparate gains by categorising like that.

If they make a lot more than us we'll be a bit annoyed and I'd like to make a good return.

If we make a lot more than them they'll feel cheated and then we have to deal with that dilemma.

We provide infrastructure, the trade that actually makes it useful and protection. In return we get a majority holding and therefore majority earnings, if they agree to 30% and get 30% they can't complain.

I am going to be pushing hard to just sacrifice this thing to the Old Gods the second we go back home. Well, maybe the following day so we have a chance to recover all our spells. I hate sitting on a time bomb like this.

Yeah, that seems our safest bet. Our party waits in the tower with Dany and Vee ready to cast Alter Fortune on the dracolich if it's ever in danger of actually escaping. Unfortunately we have two teleports to get through, and it looks like its chances of escaping just get better and better with each teleport. God dammit.

@Azel, I'll defer to you on this. What do you want to do regarding how taxes and docking fees are split?

I'll probably vote to sacrifice too, if we talk to it I wouldn't mind terribly giving it the option to be headmaster and guardian of our magic school within the plane if we go down that route. Dominion (of a sort) and a task to flex it's mental muscles might appeal, scholarly Dracolich isn't too much a stretch and if it disagrees, well then we eat it's soul for power.

Ehhhh... We'd be giving a potentially malevolent and very dangerous creature access to our fledgling (and in some cases, stupid) mages. We'd probably end up with one of them convinced by the dracolich that its release would please Prince Viserys and that they should do it right away. It might work out if the only ones with access to it are PCs, but I'd much rather play it safe and just sacrifice it.

Nobody wants Dany to actually study the phylactery?

You know, there are nonevil liches, those are called Archliches. Just to keep that in mind once we go epic.

Hell, depending on it's alignment I'd also offer a resurrection - if Dany can win it over to her 'draconic draconicness' religion. Compared to demons running around, Aboleths waking up (I bet), mindflayers looking for desserts and world-ending undead rearing, one young adult red dragon isn't something to worry overmuch about.
We could always offer to resurrect in Molten Skies ...

For life extension, change your race and go reincarnate (or a version thereof). Loosing so much by going Lich, and it's unnecessary.

The implication is it remains bound by magic and word. Sorry I wasn't clear.

Also obviously the mechanism for release, that we will not install if at all possible, will be neither accessible nor within the knowledge base of students.

... Okay, I'm slightly tempted now. How about we have her carefully study it, and then we play it safe and sacrifice the dracolich.

A regular CR 13 young adult dragon has 19 HD. I'm not quite sure how many HD a CR 15 dracolich would have, but we're bound to get something fantastic from the Old Gods for sacrificing it to them.

In my case, I want her to study it so she can figure out how to avoid completely losing herself like that. There are other paths to immortality.

Yeah I'm pretty much never ever gonna vote to bring back intelligent Dragons not directly bound to us, none of this alliance shit, straight out enforceable subservience. Valyrian dragons serve their purpose and I see none in creating powerful, intelligent rivals.

Forced subservience == slavery, and go ask Dany and Viserys what they think about that. And powerful intelligent rivals? It's a world out there, and we also got access to planar travel. Even if we manage to fully conquer this world, and Viserys makes it a full time job to travel the world, there will also be more humans around that haven't seen him than have. So, what does it matter if one continent away a dragon flies?

Enforceable =/= Forced nor is it slavery.

Literally every employee ever is under enforceable subservience.

And it's for a very simple reason, the continent exists, therefore it's ours.

I do expect to own this material plane in totality, as our scope increases our rule becomes more macro but it will still be our rule.

My main problem with contacting it is that it being awake = freedom, and no matter its alignment I don't trust it not to attack everything in sight immediately upon release.

That, and I have the selfish incentive of getting proper goodies from the Old Gods for its soul. We even get a +40% undead boost for the HD. :D

My main goal to study ths phylactery so that we actually understand what Dany's coin is. We can decide the path to Archlichdom afterwards if we desire (I would aim to have Dany with at least 15 years of age before that, because she won't grow any more, but will conserve her body), or at elast see if we can craft a dream version of Lichdom.

I'll be aiming for some type of convergent development.

Bind Draconic nature to the phylactery or something so she becomes a Dragon like us.

I want to keep our sister with us and I don't want her to lose the joys of life or deal with the sorrows of old age.

I really don't understand this obsession with lichdom. I mean just have Danny take the special class Viserys is taking if you want her to live forever. It's not like anything that could kill an adult red dragon sorceror would have trouble killing a lich. Or is there some reason she can't take it?

Studying the dracolich is mainly so we get a better understanding of Dany's soul coin. It can help us avoid lichdom if we don't want her to go down that path.

I'll certainly vote to talk to the Lich, with studying the gem as a second option and just sacrificing it as a distant third.

We could learn so much from an ancient dragon that has been bound to that Tower since the earliest days of Old Valyria.
