ok, we are going on a smith recruiting rampage.
we need experts, tools and at least one who knows how to work valyrian steel.
and lots of pigs im guessing.
@DragonParadox would we be able to set up a system where animals sacrificed in TD are sacrificed in the name of Snek to empower it?

The idea of sacrifice is that you sacrifice something, no redirect a stream of demons from an open portal directly into a Cold Iron knife.
... why? I would think that, with a few conceptual type rituals, it wouldn't matter from where the blood flows, only that it does.

It's giving them magical juice from those HD sacrificed in exchange of a blessing. Does it matter how hard or easy it is to get said HD? Rarer types are already built in on the system.

If anything the Old Gods should reward us for finding a loophole. They'd certainly be happy with new weirwoods popping up left and right.

Is it thematic sacrifice? No. But so what? If we manage to teach this to Azema there is absolutely no reason not to abuse the hell out of this.
There is - it violates the cosmic law of Balance.

Exactly. We had this debate with our original sacrifice. The only thing that actually matters to the Old Gods is that there are enough sacrifices to satisfy them. They don't care where they came from or how we got them.

And what's the cosmic law of Balance? And how exactly does it violate it?

Of course not. There are literally infinite demons. What Law are you talking about?

The ritual already accounts for the differences between a vrock and twenty dretches.

Think of the blood like magical Gatorade. Just need to have it in sufficient quantity and quality, if you got it from the back of a truck or bought at retail is not the concern of the gods.

mmm, i want some gatorade now.
and dont particularly care where i get it from.

How about we make a ritual to fill a Hearttree with Positive Energy?

That seems way simpler than draining the Abyss of demons for feeding the Old Gods.

That's kind of already the default for our heart tree.
Primary: Grow a Heart-Tree from a sapling in the span of the ritual, which serves as the focus of a permanent CL 20 Hallow or Unhallow spell (Primary caster's choice)
A CL 20 Hallow effect is decidedly positive.

EDIT: I'm really not understanding your reluctance here beyond a sentiment of, "But we're supposed to lose something with sacrifice." If we have a way to get around that and still reap the benefits, why wouldn't we do it?

Hey @DragonParadox can we get a blueprint of the tower, maybe a list of notable facilities? Is there something that allows to Planar Bind using just appropriate level slots? A flesh forge? Something to discount crafting?

Maybe some cool pics for fun.

Sorry I didn't express correctly.

I meant to make a ritual to grow the tree using only Positive Energy, instead of using sacrifices. Also my only problem with getting around the unlimited sacrifices things is that I doubt we will ever get something like that, not a problem with it by itself.

Game Balance. It won't work for the exact same reason infinite wish loops don't work.
Well, then DP himself can put the limits on us if he chooses. We're already limited in that Vee would be getting too many evil points from this, so we have to wait and teach Azema Summon Monsters II. If DP says that we have a limit on the number of Weirwoods we can make with this, then fine.

Also, the reason the Infinite Wish loop doesn't work is because by itself a single wish doesn't have the power to duplicate multiple other wishes.

I've got no objection to the positive energy ritual, but where would we even get positive energy? Would we rely on one of Lya's Arcana constantly emitting positive energy?

As for not thinking we'll ever get it, that's fair, but we won't know until we've run it by DP and he shuts us down himself.

That could be a source yes. Maybe make a team of Arcanums dedicated to that.

We can even make money out of this charge whoever wants a new Godswood and we'll get them one :V

Next thing to do: resetting traps. Put summon monster II (eyewings) into a spelltrap, make it reset every round. Costs a pittance, the trap doesn't care about evil and it's DnD core (Dungeonmaster's Guide, for beneficial traps Dungeonscape).

I'm sure DP throws us demons, fiends and lawyers to sacrifice ...
Don't count on it. We always encounter things worthy of sacrifice in the most inconvenient places. We'd have to actively hunt for sacrifices.

Fortunately we know about that Sharkmen colony near Torturer's Deep.

For Snek we have the belt, for the OGs we need to invest downtime to bless a Weyrwood weapon (stick in enemy - sacrifice). Of course that will be time consuming and costly, but if Waymar gets such a spear (wooden shaft, bronze spearhead) ...

You are all forgetting that we are now carrying a movile tower of demon summoning and binding on our backs. We can take anything as prisoner if we manage to take it out nonlethally

Well... kind of. You cab teleport with it, but it's very inconvenient to carry.
We could always beat up potential sacrifices and teleport them to our tower where we imprison them until we're ready to use them?

On another note, we need to get started on making more Seekers. The means to imprison mages and drain their spells is simply too valuable not to duplicate.
