That's... implying that the Abyss itself is somewhat intelligent.

:o
I didn't mean to imply that, but I do seem to recall reading some lore, I think it was from Pathfinder, which gave credence to the Abyss having a very rudimentary type of intelligence. Not sentience, but more like a simple drive toward malevolence and corruption.

Huh. And Maelor is just in no way curious about this? Or is he, like pretty much everyone, just too busy to bother digging into it?

It does not seem to be doing anyone any harm, all divinations point to it continuing to be harmless so there has been no incentive to poke it. Maeloe specifically said half seriously that he does not want to open another front with the Abyss in the middle of who knows how many wars.

Well, that's his choice...

OR Cleric of Viserys! State-sponsored Heavenly Bureaucracy doesn't discriminate wether you have Abyssal blood or not.
A Sorcerer/Cleric of Viserys Mystic Theurge wouldn't be a bad combination.

Worst case scenario, if the Abyss ever starts acting up in such a way as to endanger Maelor through his connection to it, we'll bust out an Unraveling and dissolve the link ourselves.

Is it possible that Viserys is her patron? He already got a cleric connection set up without consciously engaging in the process, and he has an in with Usizil even if she isn't bound to him in a a traditional outsider sense.

Reaching out so indirectly through a free devil could explain how Anne ended up as an internal warlock instead of a more normal cleric. It'd make more sense than most of the other options being interested enough to act here.

Also, it's going to be fun to break down this situation to lord kool aid after he wakes up. He poisons his entire family to save them, and as a result dumps most of them in the broke ass river of souls while his youngest daughter ends up getting infernal magic jacked into her soul.

Being this much of a failure isn't just a full time job, it's an art form.

Then why the fires of Phlegetos in her eyes?
If Usizil were a Something of Viserys (Cleric or so) then I could see an indirect connection, like Viserys' power being filtered through the Erinyes to produce such a result, but that is not the case.

Maybe she is something like a concept-Warlock? Warlock of Lawful-Evil, as filtered through Usizil's knowledge of it, which is still that of Hell of course, after millenia down there. We know that at least one Erinyes has become a Paladin of Tyranny, of Lawful Evil as a principle force, so maybe this is a similar connection? She is still a creature with the Lawful and Evil subtypes, a Devil in all but homeplane, so that counts maybe.

Given this complication, it would likely be best to keep all surviving Trants on the Dawnstar and under supervision.

My guess is that it's related to the Steel Fury template. A Steel Fury gains access to nine special abilities, each relating to one of the layers of the Nine Hells. One of those being the Lesson of Phlegetos, which allows the fury to make a spot check for any charisma-based skills or spells being utilized by whomever they are talking to. Usizil being Anna's patron, that translates into a Anna's eyes taking on the colors of Phlegetos when utilizing an invocation that enhances eyesight.

That's a class though, not a template. I literally wrote it.
And only Mereth has taken levels in it, not our Boarding-Trooper Erinyes here.

Bare in mind the Dawnstar is still a warship on campaign here. They should only be on it for the minimum of time it take to bring them to another secure location to be supervised without disrupting operations. But for now yes.

My current thought are the we execute daddy kinslayer and remove his house's ownership of the lands but his daughter become part of the scholarum in SD to learn how to be a proper warlock. After we tell him that his little plot has made her a warlock and so he think he has damned his daughter's soul. Maybe if he is begs enough for his mistake we can let him join the Night's watch so the Others destroy his soul for us.

The Moonchaser Type-A vessels have a few guest quarters and the infirmary is equipped to deal with long-term patients.

They will be fine staying there for a few hours until the Dawnstar reaches Kings Landing.
