[X] Agree to have the Dauntless Deliver the Shadow Shard into the heart of Ymeri's palace.

Well, nothing says screw you more than a piece of the Void beating launch by the Imperium's newest War Machine.

Right we need to kill her is a special way. Otherwise she just comes back in a year
That's what the artifact is for. If it's lodged into her inner sanctum, that is, her palace inside her divine realm, she loses control over her divine realm and must manifest as an avatar, which renders her mortal. Think the Time of Troubles in Forgotten Realms.

There will still be options for her to be resurrected, but that won't be easy at all for and there definitely will be no auto-resurrection.

Which is why all of R'hllors top people are certain that she will throw literally everything at getting that artifact away from her.

This is not really a choice

I just hope we can twist the narrative to gain a Mythic Rank ourselves
We openly proclaimed a heretical equal alliance to a major deity, weren't struck down by said deity for that heresy, and now here we are about to be the leading spear in the final thrust of the divine war. If that doesn't deserve major progress to a Mythic Rank I don't know what does.

...Bah! Where's this story's motto???

Hubris is a coward's word

[X] Demand to wield the artifact ourself, and attack the palace claiming the mantle of Azor Ahai!

It's in the name people, let's do this!

If they share it, then they are individually still too weak to tank a few Divine Salients to the face.
Do they have to take this "push to the heart of Ymeri's Domain with a dangerous artifact in the hand of one PC" gamble?

Can't they just take ground and consecrate it and keep killing troops that will take Ymeri minor effort to restore until they reach the inner areas in traditional ways?
After that using the artifact should be less risky, after all Ymeri's power will already be contested at the point it is used. And have stuff like entire circles of clerics//outsiders ready to cushion any blows.

That's not nearly as awesome as having the Dauntless blow up the palace with it.

Trying to fight that kind of attrition fight against a goddess in her domain would cost the Red God a lot of power and this is far from the main ecent as far as he is concerned. To borrow a phrase: Winter is coming

Is this the point at which we sacrifice stuff to R'hlor?
