Of Spells and Circles
Thirtieth Day of the Third Month 294 AC
The decision is easier than you thought it might be. For all the arcane dangers of the battle taking place in the realm of fire, dangers that had shattered heralds of steel and sorcery, much less the very mortal sailors of the sky fleet, you trust that the Dauntless will guard them and bring them home, even from this. It is a sentiment the ship's captain agrees with when you briefly speak with him through the ship's communication brazier, though you can hear the crackle of flames behind his words as the contentions of the Powers bleed through the ether stream that binds enchanted sand together.
Perhaps some manner of enchanted shadow-speaker might not go amiss at your most sensitive installations... You have no doubt Melisandre will be present to help you with it in the future. As you bring up the notion with Lya, as much to break up the monotony of constant calling as any other reason, you realize with a start that the fatigue you are feeling is not just mental. "When was the last time we slept?" you ask a touch reluctantly.
"Er... I forget?" It's more of a question than an answer from Lya as she leans on the stone wall of the Snare.
"You have perfect memory," you point out archly.
"Alright maybe I don't want to think about it," she admits. Constant summoning, even of such lesser fiends and with all the assistance and set up one might hope for, is admittedly not the most pleasant tasks. At least she has another body with which to think and do something other than the strange dichotomy of necessary mental clarity necessary for weaving the spells and the boredom of endless repetition.
"I think we are as done as we are going to get this month, almost four thousand more demons just from our own efforts all lined up in a row...." Your mood sours slightly on the last words.
"And the Abyss always has more of them to call," Lya finishes, guessing your thoughts. "You know I was sort of struggling a bit on that last call, a kind of soft pressure around my temples. Maybe it really is running out of that kind of Tanar'ri."
"Or more likely they are starting to understand that the passes into the world by our voices are lies that will breed none of the chaos they crave," you counter.
"Of course not, we only cause chaos of our own," Lya replies fastidiously as she takes your arm and translocates both of you back to the keep. "Speaking of sacrifices, are we planning to make any to R'hllor? It sounds like He could use some help in His battles so the Dauntless and Wisdom Melisandre can hopefully come back alive."
3740 Brimorak Demons Captured (Viserys and Lya efforts; 10 Days)
She is right, of course, but you are not certain who to enlist in such an offering. Of the two high priests of the Lord of Light you trust, one is fighting in the war itself and the other is busy smoothing over theological disputes in Volantis. Granted, they are disputes you had a hand in making, but that does not mean you can wait for Benero to finish.
When you point that out to Lya, she shrugs. "So just do it yourself. He told you that you might have been Azor Ahai. That is enough to catch his eye just fine, and we have plenty of books on ritual sacrifice to the Lord of Light in the library."
"Is there anything the library doesn't have?" you ask in jest.
"Cook books," she replies dryly. "The closest thing we have is alchemy, and that is nowhere near as delicious."
Jests aside, you do have what amounts to an army of tanar'ri to sacrifice and while making an end of the Court of Stars would require much of that power, that does not mean all and you have no doubt the Lord of Light would find use for any blood and power you dedicate in his name.
What sacrifices do you make?

OOC: This came out a lot more humorous than a update about summoning demons for blood sacrifice would usually do, but I think the edge of strangeness fits Viserys and Lya. They don't quite have common expectations of these things. Not yet edited.
