Yeah, but we still need those numbers.
I am still somewhat apprehensive of adding the stuff we summoned specifically for CoS-ritual to Ymeri-kicking instead, bit since he has not killed her yet and the month drew to a close, we have about zero choice, dont we? :(

I am assuming Rhllor gains more power from fire-based and ice-based creatures?
Sounds about right. Void sacrifices and flame sacrifices are the best R'hllor food.

It depends on how much we want to invest. Even keeping the two piles totally separate we still have ~4000 HD we could give to R'hllor, so we're not exactly in a bad spot.

... Granted most of that is the crystal oozes, and we probably don't want to destroy them all.

  • 14 Infernal Third Eye of Clarity (7th caster level)
  • 14 Infernal +3 Amulet of Resistance (9th caster level)
  • 7 Infernal +3 Fullplate Armor (9th caster level)
  • 7 Infernal +3 Flaming Composite Longbow (9th caster level)
  • 1 Infernal Cloak of Displacement (7th caster level)
66 Minor Efreeti-Forged magic items (Caster Level 5)
We also have some sacrifice fodder and I'm pretty sure they resonate with Burny since its Law/Fire

edit: We also should still have that Infernal Mind Blank when Aradia got possessed by that Belier Devil.

Part MMMDCXL: Of Spells and Circles
Of Spells and Circles

Thirtieth Day of the Third Month 294 AC

The decision is easier than you thought it might be. For all the arcane dangers of the battle taking place in the realm of fire, dangers that had shattered heralds of steel and sorcery much less the very mortal sailors of the sky fleet, you trust that the Dauntless will guard them and bring them home, even from this. It is a sentiment the ship's captain agrees with when you briefly speak with him though the ship's communication brazier, though you can fear the crackle of flames behind his words as the contentions of the Powers bleed though the ether stream that binds enchanted sand together.

Perhaps some manner of enchanted shadow-speaker might not go amiss at your most sensitive installations...
You have no doubt Melisandre will be present to help you with it in the future. As you bring up the notion with Lya, as much to break up the monotony of constant calling as any other reason, you realize with a start that the fatigue you are feeling is not just mental. "When was the last time we slept?" you ask a touch reluctantly.

"Er... I forget?" It's more of a question than and answer from Lya as she leans on the stone wall of the Snare.

"You have perfect memory," you point out archly.

"Alright maybe I don't want to think about it," she admits. Constant summoning, even of such lesser fiends and with all the assistance and set up one might hope for is admittedly not the most pleasant tasks. At least she has another body with which to think and do something other than the strange dichotomy of necessary mental clarity necessary for weaving the spells and the boredom of endless repetition.

"I think we are as done as we are going to get this month, almost four thousand more demons just from our own efforts all lined up in a row...." Your mood sours slightly on the last words.

"And the Abyss always has more of them to call," Lya finishes guessing your thoughts. "You know I was sort of struggling a bit on that last call, a kind of soft pressure around my temples. Maybe it really is running out of that kind of Tanar'ri."

"Or more likely they are starting to understand that the passes into the world by our voices are lies that will breed none of the chaos they crave," you counter.

"Of course not, we only cause chaos of our own," she replies fastidiously a she takes your arm and translocates both of you back to the keep. "Speaking of sacrifices, are we planning to make any to R'hllor? It sounds like He could use some help in His battles so the Dauntless and Wisdom Melisandre can hopefully come back alive."

4488 Brimorak Demons Captured (Viserys and Lya efforts; 10 Days)

She is right of course, but you are not certain who to enlist in such a offering. Of the two high priests of the Lord of Light you trust one is fighting in the war itself and the other is busy smoothing over theological disputes in Volantis. Ones you had a hand in making granted, but that does not mean you can wait for Benero so finish.

When you point that out to Lya she shrugs: "So just do it yourself, he told you that you might have been Azor Ahai, that is enough to catch his eye fine and we have plenty of books on ritual sacrifice to the Lord of Light in the library."

"Is there anything the library doesn't have?" you ask in jest.

"Cook books," she replies dryly. "The closest thing we have is alchemy and that is nowhere near as delicious."

Jests aside you do have what amounts to an army of tanar'ri to sacrifice and while making and end of the Court of Stars would require much of that power, that does not mean all and you have no doubt the Lord of Light would find use for any blood and power you dedicate in his name.

What sacrifices do you make?

[] Write in

OOC: This came out a lot more humorous than a update about summoning demons for blood sacrifice would usually do, but I think the edge of strangeness fits Viserys and Lya. They don't quite have common expectations of these things. Not yet edited.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

Now, for the sake of thoroughness, where can we acquire a large collection of cookbooks?

I don't think we should try to mix item sacrifice with blood sacrifice. Also, it's harder to come by appropriate item sacrifices and there are some situations where blood sacrifice is either impossible or sub-optimal, so saving the items for those times would be preferable, IMO.

We voted to make more demiplanes and summon more in-between the 24th and the now, @DragonParadox.
[X] Create more Demiplanes and keep at summoning Demons until the point you are ready to start the offense at Court of Stars (approximately 3 days of summoning total, from this point in time and assuming no interruptions?)
-[X] In hindsight, there isn't anything stopping you from having had done that from the beginning, it isn't like the ritualists in the main Snare are stopping until the very end of the month either.
Considering the Ooze King stuff and the need to make a demiplane for oozes, that gets us about 2 full days of this summoning?

Also, what about the background summonjng in the main Snare, the stuff done by items?

The numbers Goldfish gave originally didn't account for any mishaps and the occasional 1-in-500 Quillpoth instead of a Demon.

What goldfish said.

Also we are about ot invade Westeros and we'll have a fuuuuuckload of trees to grow there.
Items are the easier way to do that.

Give me a few minutes y'all, I'll throw together something from the Larder. Gotta start up my PC first :/

  1. Two days of summoning added
  2. There were no further mishaps, a loss of 1 in 500 can just be factored in normally. The numbers are large enough that they even out like that.

So, this is objectively correct then?
-[X] Using the Summoner's Circle of Lesser Planar Binding, a team of mages will work to continually Summon Brimorak Demons ... Over a 30 day period, this should result in the Summoning of 3,000 Brimorak Demons (18,000 combined HD).
3,000 more Brimoraks from the main Snare already accounted for?

Just making sure.

Okay, so, we have 7482 Brimoraks total, that puts us at combined 44,892 HD pre-bonuses (if any applicable, which I doubt it'd be considering we'll be feeding three separate Gods here) to try and kill CoS with.

...Brings a tear to my eye.
Anyway!

[X] 25x Bearded Devils - 150 HD total
[X] 3x Assasin Devils - 42 HD total
[X] 2x Stony Devils - 24 HD total
[X] 9x Steel Devils - 54 HD total
[X] 3x Bone Devils - 30 HD total
[X] 1x Mighty Ghonhatine - 12 HD
[X] 4x Sand Devils - 16 HD total
[X] 1x Accomplice Devil - 6 HD
[X] 7x Maagavs - 59 HD total
[X] 18x Gaavs - 72 HD total
[X] 2x Accomplice Devils - 12 HD total
[X] 13x Imps - 39 HD total
[X] 1x Ashmede (Asmodeus) - 12 HD
[X] 5x Salicotals (Asmodeus) - 45 HD total
[X] 2x Ink Devils - 8 HD total
[X] 97x Carnivorous Crystals (Ooze) - 1552 HD total
[X] Total HD: 2133

'Aight, explanations.
We can safely throw away half of the Oozes, and still have plenty for any experiments.
I'll have us started next month with an MA, I wanna see how many we can grow forcefully and how quickly. Their ability is unclear, but could be OP.

But otherwise, they aren't really invaluable for us, unless we somehow get a super-tight and reliable way of controlling them. And get them better attacks. And better movement options.
So, unlikely. :V

The Ghonhatine I'm about 40% sure is there in Larder mistakenly, but if not, we sure as heck don't need one in Larder anymore - we used the previous Ghonhatine to get it's Mighty template in the Forge already.

Also, @Duesal, the Efreeti Wish-slaves were sent to Shaitan. And the Pridespawn Sorcerers were turned into Urak the Forgesnek.

@egoo, we don't really need more then 10 of those oozes for any research.

Also, I'd leave the CoD pile at an even 40,000 HD and put everything above that towards killing Ymeri.

Would leave us with 6,667x Brimoraks for 40,002 HD total to use against the CoS
