No, they would start screaming.

"Look at you funny" is the reaction someone who kills apocalypse-causing beasts for reagents in their own "I'LL SHOW THEM ALL!" projects might have.

The average mage, which is to say anyone not Companion Tier, would at best suffer an existential crisis. Or completely cease higher brain function for a spell as they flee in panic for the next continent over.

That comes after you persuade them that you are being serious. The first reaction would be 'look at you funny' at which point Viserys would stop. He does not really like making people scream... well most people.

So Viserys does have a sadistic streak buried in there somewhere. Not that we didn't already know that. :V

Really, the biggest takeaway from that episode is that now Randyll Tarly understands why it is better for Viserys to be busy with Kingly stuff and not stymied and distracted by obstructing nobles.

Because he will find something to entertain him.

Usually the nobles.

We could share our lore for making sane undead.

That is in itself not valuable military technology, but if they do have the means of creating undead, it would help them utilize those.
"Sane Undead" is an extension of the Soulforging process, so something we very much do not want in other people's hands.

Basically, any research that enables you to field an army of mid-level monsters by throwing money at the problem is something we shouldn't trade away. Those techs are precisely why we are so powerful and there is no good reason to push our neighbours to becoming peer powers of ours.

And sharing Crafters Pride would cut into our profits from Everflame Ironworks. Also something I see no reason to do.

I would not exactly call Yi-Ti "neighbours" while they are half the world away.
We dont exactly share the same markets for the most part.

And for the Soulforging, I did not want to sell them that part (which allows cheap mass-production of mooks and elite-mooks), but particularly the "sane higher undead" part, which is useful on an individual scale.

The world is shrinking. Yi-Ti pretty much already is our neighbour and the effective distance will keep shrinking.

And yes, I got that, but the research is an expansion of the Soulforging process and you could reverse engineer Soulforging from what you want to give them. Which I'm heavily against.

@Azel, I'm throwing together a forge order, and it's kinda ridiculous.
Still, need some halp.
How much additionally for all these Lead-clade things? The infothreadmark has just base variants, I have no idea how much their price changes with +1CR here.
[] 10x Roving Aquatic Patrols -- Narrow Sea
1*10x Lead-clad Greater Bloodshark - each
1*10x Lead-clad Black Brute - each
5*10x Lead-clad Bloodshark - each
20*10x Lead-clad Advanced Skeletal Narwhale - each
50*10x Lead-clad [something based on a Seal chassis] - each
76*10x Necrotic Mold - each
1*10x Greater Bloodclot Mold - each
Also, that [something based on seal chassis] would be helpful in price right about now if not abilities.
Also also, are we sending these patrols anywhere else other than Narrow Sea? Makign a second batch to patrol 'round Westeros?

Also also, look at those dead animal bodies we make in the background every month plz, and tell me whether we want to utilize them all. Can make that happen.

ahkay, here we go.
Basic idea, is that we have next to zero Undead unassigned despite how many we made and making some new every time we need someone guarded is awkward. So it's mostly "free forces" of Undead this month.
Also, preparing beforehand to get the main Westerosi cities some aquatic defenses, since we may not have the time to grow these when we start our glorious conflict.

Forge Order proposal, 3rd month:

[] Soulforged Undead to assign at need (until further note and assignment, guarding Gogossos)
2000x Spitter Swarms - 60 IM each = 120,000 IM
500x Black Knights with Mobility Upgrade - 560 IM each = 280,000 IM
50x Black Champions - 5,360 IM each = 268,000 IM
25x Black Brutes - 4,700 IM each = 117,500 IM
20x Necro-Crakens - 4,880 IM each = 97,600 IM
500x Necrotic Molds - 450 IM each = 225,000 IM
25x Greater Bloodclot Molds - 28,800 IM each = 720,000 IM
100x Blood Clot Molds - 4,800 each = 480,000 IM

[] Inquisition Forces

30x Watchmoles - 1,320 IM each = 39,600 IM
10x Lindworms - 3,920 IM each = 39,200 IM

Note: 10x Greater Bloodlot Molds; 10x Lindworms are pre-assigned for the 3rd month (Operation: Woodlouse).

[] Westerosi Aquatic Defense Groups (Reconquest Support and guarding the locations afterwards)

[12x: White Harbor, Gulltown, Duskendale, King's Landing, Greyport and Oldtown, Dragonstone, Driftmark, Bear Island, the Iron Islands, Sunspear, and Storm's End]
81*12x Hunter Jellyfish - 1,800 IM each = 1,749,600 IM
81*12x Black Knights with Mobility Upgrade - 560 IM each = 544,320 IM
72*12x Necrotic Molds - 450 IM each = 388,800 IM
9*12x Blood Clot Molds - 4,800 IM each = 518,400 IM
9*12x Advanced Dire Hunter Jellyfish (CR 10) - 4,800 IM each = 518,400 IM
8*12x Black Brutes - 4,700 IM each = 451,200 IM
8*12x Necrotic Molds (Black Brute controlling units) - 450 IM each = 43,200 IM
4*12x Vigilant Kelps (CR 4, 6 HD) - 660 IM each = 31,680 IM
1*12x Black Champion - 5,360 IM = 64,320 IM

[] Iron Isles Additional Forces:
[2x Aquatic Defense Groups]

162x Hunter Jellyfish - 1,800 IM each = 291,600 IM
162x Black Knights with Mobility Upgrade - 560 IM each = 90,720 IM
144x Necrotic Molds - 450 IM each = 64,800 IM
18x Blood Clot Molds - 4,800 IM each = 86,400 IM
18x Advanced Dire Hunter Jellyfish (CR 10) - 4,800 IM each = 86,400 IM
16x Black Brutes - 4,700 IM each = 75,200 IM
16x Necrotic Molds (Black Brute controlling units) - 450 IM each = 7,200 IM
8x Vigilant Kelps (CR 4, 6 HD) - 660 IM each = 5,280 IM
2x Black Champion - 5,360 IM = 10,720 IM
2x Greater Bloodclot Mold (Black Champion controlling unit) - 28,800 IM = 57,600 IM

Total of 7,260,340 IM
Also note that it's likely to increase by 1-2kk with the ocean patrols included.
Calm yourself though @Crake, this is the last ridiculous order of the magnitude for a whiiile. With it we'll have pretty much everything but really exotic stuff (which we decide to grow on a whim anyway, admittedly) covered.

Once we get it finalized, I'll go through and work out what we can pay for with corpse HD, which should lower the price quite a bit.

Thinking about this, @Azel might have had a good idea about having everything be "units" when we order stuff.
Post-reconquest, I think we should move fully to that instead.
Just order "Aquatic Defense Group" with a set price, a "bodyguard group" a "patrol group", a "heart tree group" etc.

My list of assignments will need some serious re-doing, but it already kinda is structured that way anyway, just written out in far too much detail.

...And gotta make it simpler by giving a group set "hp" that it'd possibly lose in combat and we'd 'restore' by paying a proportional amount of group's total price.
Counting IMs for every lost knight and spitter will get deathly quite quick.

Part MMMDCLV: Rumors and Reports of the Reach
Rumors and Reports of the Reach

Twenty Ninth Day of the Second Month 294 AC

The Osgrey Marriage: Lord Orys Osgrey of Standfast has wed a fey nymph ostensibly under the Light of the Seven. As to why a even a pious lord might choose to bind his fate to one who is an expression of beauty's beauty you can well guess, what is more curious is how one even persuades a noble lady of the Court of Stars to place herself under the power of gods and swear oaths to them. Every fey you have asked on the matter claims they would not do it no matter what their liege commanded and indeed Moonsong went further, claiming than any who would ask her such a thing would be her liege no longer... in terms appropriate to dockside discussion. You might have learned a few new curse words in the tongue of the Summer Islands, and you think Ibbish at least.

No Wall High Enough: Lord Talbert Serry of Southshield has, to the surprise of his neighbors left, his keep for the first time in years to head to Highgarden, rumor has it to demand of Mace Tyrell what is being done to ward against the peril from the sea. The lord seems ill and had been traveling slowly in a closed carriage before he was met by a party of fey of the Azure Key who healed him of some ailment and invited him to visit the Feywild and 'be at peace under their rooftree' while he had been staying at a roadside inn of little repute. One might wonder why the fey had not approached him sooner, though it might be as simple as Southshiled not being a fair enough plum to pick until other more important Houses have chosen a side.

Bright Flames: Following many of the Florents, including the current lord, seeking protection from the diabolic corruption that almost laid low their House worship of the Lord of Light has grown within Brightwater Keep, not only among the family proper but the servants and eventually knights seeking favor. The newly arrived septon dispatched from Oldtown did not take well to Ser Erren Florent's desire to build a 'chapel to the Lord of Light' besides the castle sept and the young lord took the his sharp words about as well as might be anticipated. That is to say the septon was unceremoniously removed from the keep with instructions to send 'someone who is less of a cretin' next time.

Unfortunately the an anointed and thoroughly enraged septon found far more of an audience in the town beneath the castle gates, leading one Inquisition agent traveling through the area in the guise of a trader to remark 'they might siege the keep if they had ladders long enough and balls heavy enough'.

Where Sparks Fly: Lord Tybalt Blackbar of Bandallon has not been doing as well as you might have hoped with an Inquisition presence to help him manage the existence of fey, Deep Ones and otherworldly beings. As the mission was not considered either dangerous or urgent the agents dispatched were not the most well versed in Westerosi diplomacy, leading to a strained relationship and rather impolitic letters to the head office in Sorcerer's Deep. The agents resent having to 'coddle' the lord with regards to the reality of the world and unfortunately the old lord is knowledgeable enough in the ways of people to know his 'foreign guests' do not respect him. Still, you have not received a letter of protest yet at least.

OOC: And here we are, moving once more away from the realm of random rumors on the street and onto reports. I'm rolling for source quality for all of these in the background, keeping in mind what you guys have covered in the area. Hopefully the format works. Previous vote still open since there isn't much point to ask which rumors you want next with just two left.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP. I also highlighted a couple places that need some attention.

The Osgrey Marriage: Lord Orys Osgrey of Standfast has wed a fey nymph ostensibly under the Light of the Seven. As to why a even a pious lord might choose to bind his fate to one who is and expression of beauty's beauty you can well guess, what is more curious is how one even persuades a noble lady of the Court of Stars to place herself under the power of gods and swear oaths to them. Oh good god. I don't even know what to say to this disaster.
No Wall High Enough: Lord Lord Talbert Serry of Southshield has to the surprise of his neighbors left his keep fro the first time in years to head to Highgarden, rumor has it to demand of Mace Tyrell what is being done to ward against the peril from the sea.
Either he's running from Deep Ones or the Fey tricked him into running right into their stronghold.
Bright Flames: Following many of the Florents including the current lord seeking protection from the diabolic corruption that almost laid low their House worship of the Lord of Light has grown within Brightwater Keep, not only among the family proper, but the servants and eventually knights seeking favor. The newly arrived septon dispatched from Oldtown did not take well to Ser Erren Florent's desire to build a 'chapel to the Lord of Light' besides the castle sept and the young lord took the his sharp words about as well as might be anticipated. The Florents are brave, I'll give them that. I'm really warming up to them, though. This is weird. I never thought I'd be so fond of R'hllorists in this quest. He basically bent the knee since he's one of the Viserys-is-Azor-Ahai faction, so we'll help him if he actually needs help.
Where Sparks Fly: Lord Tybalt Blackbar of Bandallon ahs not been doing as well as you might have hoped with an inquisition presence to help him manage the existence of fey, Deep Ones and otherworldly beings. As the mission was not considered either dangerous or urgent the agents dispatched where not the most well versed in Westerosi diplomacy leading to a strained relationship and rather impolitic letters to the head office in Sorcerer's Deep. Inquisition agent I know it's difficult but please do not make the lord angry enough to go to the Court of Stars.

That could be an opportunity to further pull on the thread that unravels that whole tangled Fey mess. Even if it doesn't, investigating it would serve as an additional smokescreen to pull attention away from our plans for the Court of Stars.

Yeah, investigating it would be an excellent smokescreen at least.
