That's the second question, what exactly does he want from this transformation, like flesh warping knowldge. Because we can basically create what ever creature we want anyway. Like i don't think the players are better at that than us. We got the gith for psionics. What exactly do the players have that qyaburn would risk his soul for. Nothing we couldn't get in a day or two. Like if he is worried about age, can't he just reincarnate.

Sincerely i do not see what he gains from the risk.

He is chasing some sort of psionic knowledge that the Ulitharid kept ludicrously well hidden and referenced it only vaguely in his research notes. What Qyburn does know is that the Elder Brain considers it strictly Verboten and would murder entire colonies over it.

So, no. Not something the Gith can just share.

Presumably there will be tangible benefits to Qyburn's method, but more importantly, it's a driving motivation for the character. He's been a good minion, so we can give him the opportunity to transcend the limitations which haunt him.

Azel also confirmed that Qyburn has left behind extensive notes on his work thus far. If something goes wrong, his legacy will (un)live on.

Can't we just grab a ulitharid then. Theres thousands of the thing.
We have gotten pretty good at capturing enimies. Like Qyburn already fought one, they can't be that rare.

Not gonna lie , seems like a huge coincidence. A ulitharid with such important knowledge just got taken by a two bit necromancer. Shouldn't he be heavily guarded.
And even after its disappearance It would if Lya suddenly disappeared on us and we did nothing to ensure her knowledge wasn't subverted. Like you yourself said it would wipe out entire colonies for that knowledge. Should we be expecting an attack. Has the deep war gone hot. Cause I would love it if it did.
Where are the consequences of qyburns actions.

I mean all that stuff was done at the beginning of the quest when Viserys was still in Braavos. You could just as easily ask where the consequences of Viserys defeating Lileath are. Sometimes the mortals get lucky, they get wise and they win and it does not just mean Viserys.

No. You misunderstand. If the Elder Brain knew this Ulitharid existed and had that knowledge, it would have mounted a full scale assault on Oldtown to destroy every trace of the Ulitharid and anyone who ever interacted with it.

It was working there entirely solo because he worked on something that the Elder Brain thinks nobody should have access to.

Fair enough. The description of the importance of the knowledge gave the wrong impression. Can't be that powerful then.

To be fair though, the Squids were very interested in the brain of the Ulitharid that we killed, to the point of following it up a few encounters later and even making our non-agression deal dependant on getting it back.

They propably would have followed Qyburn for this, unless he killed a renegade similar to the Drowned God crowd.

Edit: Ok, just saw that the Brain didn't know him.

They would have been more interested... if they knew what was in the brain. that did not however mean the Ulitharid itself was very well guarded, quite the opposite. Lone renegades do not have many resources.

I mean, it is Qyburn...

And I think we should let him do it, not only because it makes sense and it seems like Viserys would in-character let him do it anyway (and Qyburn won't be stopped by something as pedestrian as "permission"), but also because its his driving goal narratively, it's his purpose. It's worth it to risk him for him to achieve his full character development.
 
BTW, if y'all are wondering why I'm not trying to pile a few more semi-Permanent effects on Qyburn, what I currently have in my vote totals up to 13 spell levels, which is the most he can currently hold due to being 13th level.
