That thing doesn't need to be suped up. 18th level Druid casting on that chassis is pretty damned beastly as it is. ☣
And we can throw enough firepower at something in one go it'd count for a CR 25-26 encounter.
Yeh, it would make sense for something here, with this much foreshadowing throughout the quest given, to be beyond CR 20.

Several very long very complex research chains just to see if it's possible at all.

In the worlds of every civilization in the ashes of it predecessors, if it has been done before it can be done again and made even better. We have the examples, both types intact, so it should make reverse engineering and replicating them a heck of a lot easier.

I would assume even with functional examples, recreating a Flesh Forge would still take quite a lot of research and development. After all, the current Forges were themselves the product of thousands of years of refinement. That's a level of complexity we can't just kitbash our way through.

The forge is probably the epicenter of this problem. The original fleshcrafters did bargain with some pretty suspicious beings to get their knowledge after all. We don't really know what the catch of the bargain was, but I expect to find out.

Gotta say I love Lovecraftian weirdness so Qohor is quickly skyrocketing up my list of favorite areas.

Also, now my paranoid senses are tingling...

What if this was a premonition, and they know of all this infiltration? What if Xor is the Blind one, a Far Realmer who purposefully decided to side with mortals and closed his eyes to the Deeper Truths, guiding those who can't even properly See those truths, the rest of the mortals?

What if our coming has just been screamed from the throath of a random guard? Mia is not under Mind Blank, they can readher thoughts, and thus know everyone who is coming here, right?

*nod nod*
Narrativium is one helluva drug, kids!

We have enough Mind Blanks in stock that we can lend them to agents on critical infiltration missions such as this.

But we didn't, ever, assign it to her beforehand.

Fishie, I draw the line at retroactive shite here.
We fuck up, we miss things, and with Mindblank that's not even the first time. There's already been precedent with Rhaella.

"the Inquisi-lady here is Mindblank-less", is the hill I'll die on for the SoD, even if it fucks up our Opsec.

Remember how we never left funds with Alinor back then?

We should have specified this!
I won't argue with ya'll over this one, though I don't think it should be an issue. Hopefully it won't be.

When you're sending seven infiltrators and four of them don't have Mind Blanks, while you have 14 Mind Blanks available, it should be automatic to assign them to those four.

I assumed you guys mind blacked everyone, if you had not I would have to ret-con the update and roll again, so I would say you get the rings.

Okay, we are saved

Forget my paranoia. This was just garden-variety eldritch insanity and not related to us at all.
