A bird from Sothyros is just a bird. We know that many (though not all) of those get eventually used to be held in captivity.

For a bird from the Endless Sky we have no idea, since those have never been outside of the Endless Sky.
I mean, unless we buy one in the Opaline Vault so we have proof that it fares well under ceilings and such, but that seems needlessly complicated.
Were you expecting Viserys to magically summon one? Of course he'll go somewhere and buy one. He can just ask the seller how it'll handle captivity. Worst case he can just Divine it before buying.

Since we can't "give" Phoenixes to people that propably doesn't work as an opening present.
We have, iirc, over 600 phoenixes in our employ.

Surely there must be at least a few who wouldn't mind staying around a Westerosi Lords, giving advice as needed, and looking fabulous the rest of the time?

[X] TalonofAnathrax

I like the idea of getting Westerosi lord's interested in the lands beyond the Terminus.

[] A flesh-forged bird of extraordinary song and plumage
If we can make it intelligent and act like a guard for him even better.

It's one thing to give a bird, it's another to give a companion who can watch your back in troubling times.

(Added irony points if we can somehow make it a bard to boot.)

[X] A bird from the Endless sky itself such as the world has never know

This fosters cultural exchange/trade. I will always go for that.

[X] A bird from the Endless sky itself such as the world has never know

I like this, seems appropriately meaningful too, given the alliance with the Djinn.

Stealing @egoo 's notion. This is too good of an opportunity to squander.
[X] You have hundreds of lesser phoenixes right now; Look for one delighted to educate, to advise, to sing and be pampered at a distant land. Not only can it passed off as a symbol of R'hloor instead of the Dread Emperor's overt hand, but is also able to whisper propaganda constantly, prevent any.. unreasonable activities and serve as a unbiased point of contact.
-[X] Should no willing phoenix be found, instead offer: A bird from the Endless sky itself such as the world has never know.

@DragonParadox would the above work?

Sure, that could work, though it is known that Phoenixes congregate in SD they are also common in Dorne so it would not be a sure sign of Viserys influence.

[X] A bird from the Plane of Air, subtly enhanced in the Flesh Forge (Advanced Temple, NA +2, all attributs except Int +4; Magebred, gaining Excellent Learner, Alertness, +4 Dex, +2 Str, +2 Con).

"Greatest songbird you ever saw. Can sing a beautiful tune day and night. Really good learner. Can tear a grown means head off with ease."

If we had known about this upcoming visit week's ago, this would be a great option, but since we didn't, I think we should just settle on what we can find in an Armun Kelisk animal market.
