Bargains of Gods and Men
Twenty Second Day of the Twelfth Month 293 AC
You consider the offer, not wholly unlike the arrangement with the Old Gods, for a long moment. In the end you cannot agree wholly however. The Old Gods are aloof from the the day to day workings of the Flesh Forge in Lys and even more so in Gogossos. You had not heard even the faintest of grumbling when Qyburn had begun animating newly harvested flesh to raise his black knights and other unliving servitors. The Merling King by contrast is a god of men and those more like men than not. That he would ask for control of who may enter this creche and work within implies a level of control over a imperial military asset you are not comfortable leaving in a priesthood's hands.
It is the precedent that decides you. "The limitation on mages assigned is not a price I am willing to pay, my lady, though I welcome working with your father. I offer a herald, the peer of the one wrought for Yss, forged of flesh and anointed by a sacrifice of my own making instead and lesser heralds also to serve as its attendants."
Galaneia nods gracefully. "It has been many years since my sisters and I have had such a cousin in our Father's eye. For myself I would welcome it, if only to see what your sorcerers concoct. I shall carry this word to my Father's halls."
With that she leaves your study, only the faint echo of sea song to mark her passage.

Twenty Third Day of the Twelfth Month 293 AC
The next morning finds you considering a more earthly bargain as you stand besides Ser Richard, Dany and at your sister's request Rina, looking out over Ashford and the sparkling waters of the Cockleswent from the neat treeline, four more well-off travelers heading towards a busy market town. There's no sign of fey magic from here, either in the town or the woods behind you, though according to rumor the lord of these lands favors the fey of the Court of Stars.
"I don't really know that much these fey you know," Rina says a touch awkwardly. "The ones I know most about
don't attend tourneys."
"I would not be so certain of that," Dany says, doubtlessly thinking of the assassination she had narrowly averted in Sunspear. "Moreover, it's good for you to see more of this side of companion-ing."
"I am quite certain that isn't a word in any of the languages you speak, save perhaps that of the tanar'ri. They do enjoy torturing things," you quip drawing a startled laugh from Rina.
"Sure it is, in all of them because I'm a princess and I say so," Dany sniffs dramatically.
"I am always happy to be of help, Highness, Your Grace," Rina interjects with good cheer, nodding to each of you in turn. It seems your sister had guessed aright about her needing to ground herself in matters of this world after all the otherworldly wars and battles she has been a part of. Besides, she does have a unique perspective on the fey and their works.
"You know..." Dany trails off looking at the simple tourney ground marked in the middle of the green, the spark of mischief in her eye, one Glyra would be proud of. "They say Lord Ashford loves to joust. What say we leave off our usual faux-mercantile introduction for something more
mysterious?"
"A mystery knight?" you prompt. Waymar had used the guise in the Reach before and amusingly so had Tyene. It would certainly get the young lord's attention.
"We did miss the chance in Dorne, to keep from ruffling any feathers," she points out. "Here in the Reach... well maybe some feathers need ruffling."
Under what guise do you represent yourself to Lord Owen Ashford?
[] A mystery knight as Dany suggested

[] A merchant as you usually do, sending a letter up to the keep

OOC: Going around the Reach to diplomance difficult cases was literally the last action assigned for Viserys for this month so there wasn't much point in doing a vote. Here is the link for the Reach background post. The break-down of Houses by difficulty used in the turn plan is here.
