Yronwood has no choice but to be loyal. They can't survive without House Martell and us by extension.
You can probably add the same to Gargalen. Their revenue stream is drying up in favour of SD and Sunspear and their best shot at fixing that is having Red Scales Holding spin up a company to invest in Salt Shore.

Good point, adding. And that will be on the docket for next month.

@DragonParadox, for the Fungus Forge, what would it cost to produce saplings of rare and exotic trees? We could have quite the woodworks industry up and running.
Dorne is going to be growing a lot of tropical type of woods. It could probably produce rubber, if we ever discovered its properties. Don't quote me on that, it might not actually have the right environmental factors for it--though we could always artificially induce them.

We already used copious amounts of magic to grow valuable forests in the Stepstones. There's an entire logging company.

I just can't seem to find the old RSH overview...

Not sure if older information was erased from this or not, but I have been sending updates to it over to @DragonParadox with mixed results.

Rubber trees need high temperatures and high humidity, so if we do some heavy duty irrigation it might work.

We already used copious amounts of magic to grow valuable forests in the Stepstones. There's an entire logging company.

I just can't seem to find the old RSH overview...
Yeah, we did the big one when we grew the Tree of the Dawn Age. Entire copses of Ironwood, Goldenwood, Waterwood, and something else. Also that godswood of weirwoods.

Anyway, in regards to Dorne, it's completely natural that it turned into an "all or nothing" type Kingdom compared to the other ones.

Dorne has exactly two choices taking into account that geography is their greatest defense against their other enemies, two natural advantages that we erase with our own positioning and assets. If they wanted to resist us, first they would need to ensure that no one sold out to us. This is important because the locals will look to their Lords in terms of providing guidance to backwards parts of the region that they would traditionally hide in if they engaged in guerrilla warfare. And the smarter and more up-to-date Lords are aware of how divination works and how it is dead impossible for them to hide their forces from our radar anyway without extensive preparations. Costly preparations, too. Dorne isn't the super richest place for large-scale magical warfare investments. They have to be conservative with what they do invest in.

Secondly, House Martell is basically our extended family, and we didn't do anything to make them appear as our puppet in anything but the most cynical and unobservant Lord or Lady's mind. We were fairly hands off about each of our diplomatic overtures across Westeros, in terms of issuing orders except in the cases where saying nothing would likely result in some Riverlander or Crownlander going off their rocker and kicking off the war early.

And I'm pretty sure most people believe Doran has his own loyal mages due in part to our assistance (not entirely false, but he did all of the heavy lifting) and didn't care that he claimed all credit for it. With all of our magic and warbeasts and dragons and soldiers it becomes pretty obvious why. Gotta make our brother-in-law look more impressive for his vassals, not that he was having trouble with that to begin with.

Both.

Ironwood, Goldenwood, Oak, Yew, Waterwood, Darkwood, etc.

Just saplings, mind you, but definitely mass-produced to be spread across the Imperium where it makes sense for the climates.

So you guys want to grow existing tree types to replant? I'm honestly not sure what the mechanics from that would out, maybe some kind of modifier on tree-based businesses. Definitely not keeping track of trees like creatures.

Golden Desert Trees.

aren't we alreaddy growing these? or is it just to get a boost in our numbers without us having to wait for a long tome for more saplings/seeds

Yeah, this is an investment that would normally take years to reap the benefits of, but with Druid Creature Lotus Leshys and Plant Growth we can see a harvest within months of replanting. Since it's nothing more than mass-producing saplings of existing species I was hoping we could do it relatively cheaply.

Feeling better after some tea and reading, let's see about giving you guys a more interesting overnight vote.

Interlude DCCLVII: Cracks Great and Small
Cracks Great and Small

Twenty Sixth Day of the Twelfth Month 293 AC

Enchanted Outfitters, Bazaar of a Thousand Sins, City of Brass

As with all those Fallen to the tides of the First War Sarell of the Black Scales had little patience for accommodating the frailties of mortals, all the more so in this instance because she suspected the boy Maelor was at least partially motivated by some misplaced sense of guilt over the girl's fate at the hands of the kyton. But her counsel had been set aside in favor of soft promises for uncertain gain. So it was that Sarell allowed herself a small measure of satisfaction when she observed the young sorcerer return from his interview with the former captive pale and wide-eyed.

The first words he spoke were not, however, regretful. "She has the pattern for a ward-breaking passage in her head. It's been degraded by the transition to her mind. Still not sure how Agha did that, he did not seem that subtle a mage to me..."

"A ward break upon what?" Sarell interjected before the conversation could veer too far off the straight path.

"The walls of the Upper City, bypassing the Bab Al Baquarra, a smuggler's dream, for those that wouldn't balk at peril to life and soul. It probably won't stay for very long, the Wallmakers will see to that with their inspections, but while it does we can move through the Upper City without having to pass under the eye of the gate guards."

"So what has you worried as a horse thief at high noon?" Bronn asked blunt as ever.

"The only way such a thing could have been made was with knowledge of the Wallmakers, Silas' own order, either a traitor or a prisoner tortured into unveiling his secrets," Sarell explained, careful to keep her tone at least neutral. Such considerations were not something the sellsword had to consider often in the past. "Our ally would be at the very least conflicted in discovering a subversion of his order's charge and while he is unlikely to know where it is, or the correct words of opening, the kyton corpses would be enough to reveal what they were seeking."

"We only recovered the corpses of lesser fiends," the young sorcerer interjected hopefully, a far cry from his reaction when the master of the cabal had managed to withdraw in good order from the fight. "Maybe they won't know what their leader was looking for, or maybe he'll think the secret died with Agha."

"Why leave it to that?" Bronn asked after only a moment's thought. "Just pay his price, whatever it is, and hire him off. I bet the magical hole in the wall would be a lot easier to hide if we had one of these Wallmakers to do it for us."

"That's..." Maelor drew out the word into a thoughtful hiss. "It's a gamble. Silas would be helpful in making use of this, and making sure it's still there when we move on to the Forge, but if we tell him about it and he won't be bought we've lost an ally."

What do you do about the hidden passage into the Upper City?

[] Reveal it to Silas, try to hire him

[] Keep it secret for now

[] Try to bring in other ward-smiths to study it

[] Write in

OOC: I'll have the loot and XP for the fight up tomorrow. It's really late for me to be doing that right now.
