Oh, damn, I wonder what we could do with some genuine Other bones?

How's the party that handled the tower coming along, @DragonParadox? Any level up from among their number?

Leila is still one of my favorite characters, but I don't think there's a lot to discuss regarding her level-up. She's hitting level 7, she should probably stay a single-classed Archivist (Dark Knowledge is a strong support ability and her fluff doesn't fit any of the good PrCs), and she isn't getting a bonus feat or anything.

Alright, golden Company is a mess and I have no idea how we can hit all the targets of priority with any sort of surety.

But oh well.
@DragonParadox, can we also get a write-up of details that we know on:
A) Yi-Ti spy-ring we throughly uncovered the last month
B) Shadow Fortress (how many floors, locations, places of interest, like ritual chambers and such)

Also, should we even vote to ask the Orange Emperor's sister for what they know on GC?

  1. I'll cover all of these before you guys have to make any decisions
  2. As for asking for information from Trader Town I think that was covered in a previous vote so that's automatic

Mind, why I'm not sure on how to hit all the targets is due to us kinda having to:

A) Grab either F!Aegon or an Avatar of Timmie, beat them near-death, and put Well of Souls on them. And then keep them safe untill we drain Timmie.

B) Attack the main force, take out 8+ Mindblanked targets, F!Aegon, and his companions.

C) Attack and completely root out the Yi-Ti spy-ring together with the Azure emps, for PR and greater surety Timmie's cult won't spring up again.

D) Attack the Shadow Fortress, with all its bullshit encounters.

E) keep a sizable enough force in Slavers' Bay throughout the attack to ensure Asmy's play at least doesn't succeed, and I doubt there isn't one.

And that all is already isn't possible simultaneously, it seems.

> SF will get hella dug in if we wait on it.
> Spy-ring will go into hiding.
> Main force's Mindblanked targets will scatter if we attack SF first.
> Asmy will do... whatever freely if we take away the people we assigned to keeping the SB "stable" this month.

Considering that you have not yet found Asmodeous' opperations in Slaver's Bay Malarys judges IC that is is unlikely that drawing the force back for the span of one battle will have a meaningful effect. The counterespionage opperations there are not at the level of requiring constant minding. For that matter it's not like the devils can divine where the mink blanked imperial agents are so they can take advantage of the absence

At best this is four simultaneous ambushes/assaults. We have a lot more firepower than we used to these days, if we pull all hands together, which we can, since everyone gets a free combat action every month besides their main action.

The important part is delegating each task to the appropriate amount of danger and PC with the right tool set to take advantage of the element of surprise. The conceit of the whole operation is that we only get one shot, and after that point it's rocket tag. Before then though it's all information advantage. If we know what the enemy is rocking and what they're capable of, we can arrange the encounters as best as we can in advance, and we do have the whole month to try to make such positioning optimal/gather intel.

Btw, we should probably check the Orange's mages, those preparing the "Firestorm"-spell in particular.

If GC managed to infiltrate Azure's court, they are definitely in Orange's somewhere.

I don't want to have that spell thrown on our heads once we move in.

I'm still in favor of kidnapping and suplanting mindblanked targets, so that we set the field further in our favor before starting.

I could see the kidnapping part, but replacing them, even for a few hours, is just begging for something to go wrong. Better to just make them disappear one by one throughout the day rather than try to replace them and risk someone getting suspicious when the replacement makes a mistake of some sort.

We can mindrape them for info and use all the buffs necessary.

But the idea would be to have this happen when they wouldn't need to impersonate the kidnapped one, like for example when they are meditating on their own, sleeping, etc.

We do this for as many mindblanked targets as we can, so that when shit happens, we can easily go for the other ones.

This seems like a bad idea and more likely to result in them rabbiting. I figure they have protocols for check-ins and the like. If they're smart, no one trusts anyone for shit since everyone is thinking about when to betray whoever else all the time. And by "they" I mean Aegon, and by smart I mean mostly having a roster and schedule. If someone deviates from the schedule, they better have a damn good reason and an alibi.

Pretty much. I don't want to try for kidnapping, either, but I was just saying it would be more practical than kidnapping + replacement.

Adding a level up plan for Leila to my vote. Like @TalonofAnathrax said, there isn't much happening for her this level up, at least that has much in the way of options. She does, however, gain access to 4th level spells, which is really nice. The two spells here are just those she learns automatically. We'll have her learn some others from scrolls during the month, too, since she doesn't have anything else major scheduled.

[X] Continue with scouting. If possible, attempt to discern how often members of the Golden Company leave the camp via translocation magic, especially Plane Shift; when, how, and where they are going? Is there a portal or other device being used to accomplish this, or are mages casting spells each time?

[X] Leila Level Up
-[X] Class: +1 Archivist
-[X] Skills (7 points): +1 Concentration, +1 Knowledge (Arcana), +1 Knowledge (Religion), +1 Knowledge (The Planes), +3 Spellcraft
-[X] New Spells:
