Gotta leave for work now, will refine this later, if necessary.

[X] Viserys Blood Wishes a Healer's Vision spell in order to better locate the parasite, then casts a Miracle spell to duplicate the effects of a Restoration or Baleful Teleport spell, while Vee casts a Regenerate spell timed to take effect immediately after Viserys' Miracle.

Feeling the need to involve myself.

[X] Put the boy back to sleep, then Teleport to Gorgossos and have the assembled fleshcrafters take a look at this.

Don't do hobo-spell-surgery with Illithid booby-traps unless you like being covered in the remains of a kids skull.

That works, too, though I would place him in some sort of stasis first, just in case. Smoky Confinement, Flesh to Stone, Amber Sarcophagus, etc.

So the moral of the story is, if your dad is a deadbeat who "got lost at sea" for years at a time, don't let him come near you, because he's probably just trying to lull you into a false sense of security and place brain-eating parasites into your ear steal your wallet.

Backing Azel. Putting bombs or some other kind of destructive influence in a brain parasite is something any heartless bastard would do simply because they expect anyone who learns about said parasites to try and remove them.

If I could kill my enemies by using their ingrained kindness then I wouldn't hesitate, if of course I was a heartless megalomaniac with plans for world conquest.

Also if anyone still doubts do remember the lady that we "saved" that turned out to be an Illithid spy until we did a Luigi and stole her soul from them Ghostbuster's style.

They have a predilection of trying to use our habits against us.

@Goldfish, here:

[X] Put the boy back to sleep, then put him in stasis by casting Flesh to Stone on him, then Teleport to Gorgossos and have the assembled fleshcrafters take a look at this.

Taking Flesh to Stone as that seems to have the best shot at maybe separating the parasite by pure accident. At the same time, if the parasite is booby trapped, a simple Make Whole can fix the statue before re-fleshing it.

Also, to iterate. Gorgossos has the Fleshcrafter-Snake, who has a lot of experience with shared- and remote-consciousness, Elaheh, who worked with and learned from Illithids, and lastly Qyburn, who grows mindcontrol tumors as a hobby.

The little chop-shop of horrors is well equipped to deal with this.

Brain parasite always super gross.

@Azel maybe add doing same for other children as well since it is good bet they also have them?

Mindsight can's see the thing, probably because it is too entwined with the boy and his signature is masking it.
Or it could just be a relay so that when a Illithid gets into range it can jack in. It's not like they're starved for options when it comes to variations on the same tactic of slipping in infiltrators.

If we are worried about killing/removing the parasite being a dead-man switch, it would be nice if it was sentient enough for us to turn away from its masters and task. I don't think it that smart is or could be swayed if it was though.

I know, it is a brain-eating slug parasite, but I am just listing ideas on how to avoid a brainplosion.

Another idea is to trick it into thinking it is in its host, via flesh-crafted grey matter. That way it is not a real brain being destroyed if/when it realizes something is up.

Have we considered asking "The Many" for help with this?

Aren't the other kids somewhere else? Moving there might cause just the attention you are trying to avoid.

I was thinking that the other victims be put in some sort of stasis as well. As we take the noble kid to flesh-crafters to get their expert opinion. That way whatever is happening to them is put on hold while we finagle a solution.

Best to place this matter before our specialists then.

I wish we had a convenient psionic god for this.

Our next best thing is power leveling Jeyne until she can start handling this stuff.

Her and the Many.
They have some innate knowledge and can deep-read minds naturally.

What better way to find find psionic parasites than using psionic parasites?
I'm mainly concerned about them finding something that is way over their heads and ending up getting mind controlled or lobotomized. I wouldn't put it past the Deep Ones to set this kind of trap, anticipating that we'd eventually come over to take a look.

It'd be nice if the Many could advance in psionic class levels.
