I wonder how much the Efreeti would like it if we had Rina blanket the entire fortress and surrounding area in Blizzard spells? Maybe add in some Bloodsnow spells for extra fun?

Plus keep in mind we will probably blow another 5 million or so in Flesh Forging defenders for this place. Like swarms of those bladeleaf kingfishers and those Rocs too.

Basically hoards of anything nonsapient for melee and a heck of a lot of casters. I'm actually debating the idea of a 10k strong Druid Leshy fire squad here.

That's basically what a Greater Sign of Sealing is, but larger and permanent, with extra goodies attached.

Sign of Sealing, Greater – Spell – D&D Tools

Complete list of all D&D spells, rulebooks, feats, classes and more!
I know but I'm talking about the outer walls.:V

We can layer Greater Sign of Sealing spells on anything important, like the Disintegration warding structures.

And it would be a good time to make liberal use of Symbol spells.
How would you write that into the plan? Any specifics we should use? Just over the Spike structures?

Good Night guys, see you tomorrow with the list for SD contingencies and then on to law changes and social engineering.
Its less SD and more "literally every other significant coastal city we have".
SD is kinda beyond being easily threatened at this point.

Also, something I dug up some time ago, and a generally amazing spell:
Curse of Spilt Water (dragon Magazine 334, page 74)
Transmutation [Water]
Level: Drd 6, Sor/Wiz 6
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates.
Spell Resistance: Yes

The target of this spell must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw or be permanently transformed into water equal to its original volume. The water immediately splashes to the ground and spreads as normal water. If a suitable container is within 5 feet of the target, the caster can direct the water to collapse into the container. Any equipment carried by the victumalso transforms into water. While transformed into water, the victum has no consciousness and can take no actions.

If any quantity of the water is recovered, a break enchantment can restore the victim to normal.
However, if the water is allowed to evaporate (a process that requires 1 hour for a creature of Fine size, 1 day for Tiny creature, and 2 days for each cathegory size larger than Tiny) or mixed with a larger body of water, such as a lake or sea, a limited wish, miracle, or wish is required to restore the target to it's original form.

Material component: A rag doll soaked in seawater.
Question, @DragonParadox: Since this is similar to our signature Baleful Polymorph, could the Merling King empower our casting into a 'Mythic' variant, with the effect similar to that of Mythic BP?

Or would that be too far away from his tenets/Domajns?

We don't have the income to keep up with such inflated costs guys. We have been bleeding money for quite a while. So I am firmly against both artificially inflated RA costs which just waste irl time and money costs which just bleed our treasury dry faster.

RAs which used to take a single month in the previous system already take multiple months in the new system even though we have better infrastructure and people. So no need to make it even worse.

I would have them protecting the spike structures and any other weak point, but I would also set up some decoy structures. Make them look important and heavily defended, but basically be nothing more than damage sponges, along with large, hidden Alchemical bombs (Explosive Packs and Liquid Ice) that can be detonated non-magically.

That way, the Efreeti forces are likely to split up and waste their efforts on some decoys, then get blasted into chunky ice cubes for their trouble.

We can make things even more fun by putting veeeeery tiny Anti-God Mindblank-Wards of Orphne Fey in the very centres of decoy structures.

But still sizeable enough to seem important as all fuck.

The concern was infiltration not conquest and SD is still vulnerable to that
Viserys is not a cleric so he cannot really get power right from the god, mythic power generally comes from one's own legend, that said you guys can sacrifice for divine blessings like Theon and Valaena got

Will our policies relating to the economy, inheritance and eternal life come up or be voted on?

Yes that is what the action was for.

Our RAs costs are a fraction of our m onthly expenses. A tiny fraction at that.

That said, I'm also against spending frivolously. Some things are worth the investment, though, and the fortress is one of them.

We'll be robbing the Efreeti enough in the future to offset a lot of the costs.

[X] Fortress Adjustments
-[X] Tell Darleth of recently gaining access to the wards that Marid use to guard their cities and fortresses -- to be learnt, but still something you'd like to plan for -- as well as a powerful ritualistic warding used as a barrier against "tainted flame" which is still being further developed for an increased range. You would like to extend plans for the fortress to account for these new tools.
--[X] If it helps we can introduce him to Benerro so that Darleth is able to get the specifics of the ritual's abilities.
-[X] Viserys will be able to provide layered anti-teleportation wards at a very high caster level.
-[X] Try to reduce the cost of the alchemical treatment for the stone if possible, but not at the sacrifice of time spent on other components of the defenses, their effectiveness or the effectiveness of the enamel itself. Better to spend more and pay less in lives later on if necessary.
-[X] Raise possibility of cannon emplacements with more exotic effects, potentially force cannons? Potential modification for emplacements to achieve best fire for effect. Expect majority to be Steam Cannons.
-[X] Also, get Darleth's quote on the cost for runecrafting further protecting the chambers with the anti-disintegration spikes.
-[X] Have Lya's double work on the plans with Darleth and later on likely the runecarving.
-[X] Layered Greater Signs of Sealing protecting the Spike Structures and other weak points of the fortress complex.
--[X] Work in the possibility of decoy structures/redoubts, built to look important for infiltration purposes and defended enough (with fallback points that defenders can make a convincing fighting retreat through). When infiltrating assault teams make the final approach to the chamber, large amounts of Alchemical bombs (explosive packs and Liquid Ice bombs) are detonated remotely and non-magically.
-[X] Brilliant Barrier Projectors (space for and defenses worked into plans).

@Goldfish Would some kind of Anti-Magic kill zone be possible?

We're uncomfortably close to the Far North, dude. This fortress will sit on the edge of the Shivering Sea where there are canonical and persistent rumors of Ice Dragons.

It doesn't seem worth the risk that we accidentally call one of those down while fighting the Efreeti.

Viserys: Alright you lot what is it gonna take to get you to make it rain Turtles? Keep in mind I am willing to include the turtles as part of the payment.

Old Gods having too much drool coming out of their mouths to respond.

...but why though?
:(

Because these discussions always end with me writing fifty fucking paragraphs of concise arguments responding to sheer bone-headed "hey wouldn't this be a great idea" or "we need to do things this way".

And if more than half of my post is filled with quotes to people going :Citation Needed: then there's a problem with emblematic of the contents of the discussion, like lack of in-universe WoG on certain subjects that people are just taking random ass guesses and stabs in the dark at, but very strongly asserting they are correct while doing so.

What exactly are you abstaining from? The "should we spend money?" decision? Or the "what should our inheritance policies be?" decision?
