The Fungus Forge can produce people who can cast reincarnate, and we can make more Fungus Forges, so getting the spell slots is no problem.

The reagents can be grown, so while it would be hard to set up, considering a large part of our population are farmers, growing the plants to extract the rare oils required from should be doable, and as the workforce expand as much as the demand, the supply should be able to keep up with the demand, as long as we have space to grow the reagents on, and with Underdark plants making it so we can grow things underground, our available space is pretty much infinite.

Food is the same, with Underdark plants, space travel and the Plane of Earth, we have a limitless amount of places that can be turned into farmland, so we aren't likely to run out of food.

There's lots of ways to solve the food problem, we already have space travel, and we have access to the plane of Earth, we could set up portals in space and literally build planets if we wanted, we of course wouldn't as a planet is a terribly inefficient use of resources, but building asteroid farms aren't so inefficient, and there's space for a near endless amount of them around the sun, and if we ever fill up the space around our sun, well there's plenty more suns where that one came from.

The asteroid farms would need massive glass domes to keep the air in of course, and we would probably have to research how to tint the domes to keep radiation from getting in, but once that research was done, we could literally build endless domed asteroid farms, they don't need to be small either, although it's probably better to have each individual dome be smallish, with just lots of connected domes with doors between, so you don't need to just break 1 dome to destroy a whole country worth of domes.

And yes I know it will be quite some time before we can mass produce that kind of thing, but Planetos at the moment have a quite low population, and there's still plenty of easier colonization targets, so even if we mass introduce reincarnation, we have centuries, before we need to begin building domed cities around the sun.

The Forge can also make beings that can cast reincarnate, a Druid creature with the spell is below CR10, so as long as we can build more Fungus Forges, we should be able to make any amount of reincarnators needed.

DragonParadox just outright said this statement is false, the Old gods can reincarnate any number of people, sure they wont take payment in money, but if instead of it being them directly doing it, it's Fungus Forge creatures doing it, then the Fungus Forge creatures will probably take payment in reagents, so they can create more of themselves.

All evidence is that while yes reincarnation would result in exponential growth, seeing as we can build more Fungus Forges, we can equally cause our amount of Reincarnators to exponentially grow.
Dude, when you start talking about the need to build planets to make your idea even slightly feasible, that's a sign to take a step back and reevaluate things.

This will be my last post on the subject.

It would be, if it wasn't for the fact that with how this quest is going, and with how this multiverse is set up, I don't even think building planets would be particularly hard.

If we focused on it, I think without gaining more assets than we already have, we could build a kingdom sized dome city within at most a few decades if we focused on it, and that's without us developing big new technology, or finding new allies to learn new magic from.

We are awesome enough, that we can build the starting infrastructure for such things, so I believe we could have our space colonization problem going, long before population explosions would make having it mandatory.

That's racist.

Also, pointing out again that Lya's class feature would allow her to target this spell against any arbitrary alignment modifier, so you could dispel quite a few spells that way.
I'm still looking for simultaneous auto dispell effects for other spell descriptors, but no luck yet. Good to know Lya can just modify the base version though.

@tarrangar, stop. Now. This is no longer a request.

I am well and truly sick of the regular complaints I get from people annoyed with your behaviour.
Okay I will drop it at least for now, if we do end up making space colonies within the next few in story decades though, I'm totally going to point out that this mean we now have effectively infinite living space, but until that time come, I will give mass reincarnation a rest.

Move along, nothing to see here. Just me making a post so I can link this to the Armory since the forum's insistence on ruining the formating of the page was driving me insane.

The Shadowblade (Sentient +2 Adamantine Dagger)

Appearance: Forever wrapped in shifting shadows the weapon does not contain the soul of its long dead maker, it is shrouded in it, striking as much with his unerring purpose as it does Adamantine's sharpness. Inscribed upon the black jade in the tongue of Heaven there is no more than a single line, a promise: By shadow's edge from darkness warded.
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Stats: Intelligence: 10 (+0), Wisdom: 17 (+3), Charisma: 17 (+0)
  • Saving Throws: Fortitude: 8, Reflex: 8, Will: 11
  • Senses: Vision and Hearing in a 120 foot radius, Darkvision, Blindsense
  • Communication: Telepathy
  • Minor Artifact: 16th Caster Level
  • Conflict Triggers: Bearer knowingly allies with servants of the Bloodstone Emperor or other Servants of the Void, or breaks an oath of fealty
  • Powers: +2 Adamantine Dagger: 1d4+2 (19-20/x2)
    • Eyes of Shadow: The wielder gains Darkvision 30 feet while grasping the hilt of the dagger, even if it is not drawn.
    • Veil of Shadow: +2 Circumstantial bonus to Hide and Move Silently whenever the dagger is drawn as its faint flickering shadows envelop him
    • Sudden Strike: +2d6 Precision damage to any foe caught Flat-Footed
    • Unseen Weapon: As a Swift Action one can activate one of the following powers (5/day);
      • Unerring Strike: Your next melee attack ignores any miss chance because of Concealment or Total Concealment.
      • Unexpected Strike: Your opponent is denied its Dexterity bonus against your next melee attack.
      • Ephemeral Weapon: Your next melee attack deals an extra 2d6 points of damage, as extraplanar darkness momentarily replaces portions of your opponent's body.

I do want to make a domed space habitat though, it shouldn't be that expensive, and it would be interesting, to see what growing with no gravity would do to our various magical plants.

I also want moon domes, these are ever so alien environments, raising magical plants and beasts in them, should get us something interesting.

But after we have conquered Planetos of course, but once all of the planet is ours, I think we should begin to aim for all of the solar system.

Thanks again, @Trek, for pointing out the stuff I'd missed adding to the Armory. It's up to date once again.

@Everyone, Trek reminded me of these:
Swords of the Ruin Lord x6

Description: Once the whirling weapons of an Asurendra, these Valyrian Steel blades seem now invested of a will and spirit that moves and slays at the command of whoever bears them with as much skill as they themselves possess. Seals of primordial law warped and twisted endlessly swallow each other over the face of the blade.

Ability: +2 Obedient Weapon, counts as Evil and Lawful for overcoming damage reduction.

Caster Level: 15
The Obedient enchantment isn't one I would put on any of our people's main weapons due to its effective +5 Enhancement bonus, but since we have six of the swords, we should consider how to best use them. For characters with a high BAB (Viserys, Richard, Bronn, etc), it could be useful to have one of these as a backup weapon.

What are ya'll's thoughts on assigning them to some of our people for that purpose?

  • [X] Yes, of course
-[X] This month, you had yet to visit Armun Kelisk and Opaline Vault.
--[X] Gather the crafting orders, set up new ones.
    ---[X] Buy Staves, @Goldfish.
--[X] Meet with Djinn and Shaitan spymasters.
---[X] Ask when would be the preferable time for us to visit Vialesk and other Marid states with their delegations, in an attempt to draw Marid into war with Efreeti.
---[X] Offer the Djinn and the Shaitan the services of the Fleshforge and Plantforge for war and peace alike, at a fair price.
---[X] With Asmodeus himself starting to act on Plane of Balance, a lot is at stake. Request whatever lore or knowledge on Hells and those serving Asmodeus they can share, anything that can help in rooting out his influence.
---[X] You are planning to strike at the Bitch-Queen in short amount of time. Still, far it be from you not to plan for the worst. Ask whether the Empires have anything that may serve as the last-ditch measure in event all out plans come to ruin and we require something to stop Divine influence imposing onto reality, if only for a short while.
---[X] Ask whether they are aware of any especially hidden, or not well-known forces/groups that may be of help to us breaking the illithids upon the Plane of Balance - groups that we would be able to rely on not to become a problem later on if we use them (unlike most Brines, for example).
----[X] We aren't asking for their help, what with war on Efreeti being just as important- but any aquatic forces we haven't heard of ourselves with the limited exposure to the Planes we had yet.
--[X] Take a quick look round the markets of Opaline Vault for exotic creatures, specifically borrowers and ambush predators.

Part MMMCLXIV: Wind over Stone Whistling
Wind over Stone Whistling

Nineteenth Day of the Eleventh Month 293 AC

"She is yours then," you proclaim, smiling in pride as you close the deal. Asha has come a long way indeed from the girl you had found sitting on a stump in the Wolfswood planning to walk all the way to sea, though she has just as long a walk before she is ready to take up her duties in Pyke you suspect.

Somewhat to your surprise Asha's payment does not come in the form of a gold and gems stowed away in a sea-chest, but a note in a hurried looping hand addressed to the Iron Bank authorizing a withdrawal from her account. Noticing your surprise she shrugs: "I've claimed a lot of gold off corpses, I don't fancy it happening to me if some bastard gets lucky enough to make me one. I'm also planning to leave a standing account to buy a diamond from the shaitan and have me raised if it does happen."

Gained 2,500 IM

"Good to see you are not worrying about what coin you pay in these days," you chuckle taking the note.

"Best way to raid, if they die they stay dead as the drowned, if I die I'm down a thousand marks and I can carve them out of their hide when I come back," she says cheerfully, though not all the shadow is dispelled from her gaze. Likely you are not the only one considering the kinds of decisions she may have to take as Lady of the Iron Isles.

"There are foes that can do much worse than kill you," you caution in response to thoughts spoken and unspoken alike.

"I know," she nods gravely. Then with a determined shake of her head she moves to the plain wooden desk in the corner of the room and takes out another piece of paper, this one a letter. "Could you hand this to Horas when you get back to the Deep?"

"Horas, is it?" you tease. "You know you could travel back to see him for a few hours if you like."

Alas, the first question bounces off Asha like a stone skipping on water. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder," she replies with a grin. "Well, either that or it makes the loins wander, but if that's the case I'd like to know sooner rather than later."

Speaking of the djinn and shaitan you dispatch one of the erinyes on call in Sorcerer's Deep to recover last month's commissions in enchantments from Armun Kelisk and the Opaline Vault, while also making a note of what you would like forged over the following month while you, Dany and Lya head out to do some more delicate negotiations.

Last Month's Commission recovered

Dany makes arrangements with the captain of the Windbows for the scrolls and books that might help in training mortals along that particular path of martial and arcane tradition, and Lya speaks to the Cryomancers regarding holding guest lectures in the Deep, no doubt among many other questions asked and answered, and at least one spell exchanged.

For yourself you seek an audience with the the two among geniekind who had most aided in forging the Pact of Wind and Stone, Hajar Rebys, Vizier of the Whispering Shades, and Mahuroos Tepani, Grand Vizier of the Peerless Empire. Having arranged the meeting in advance you manage to have them both in the same room for once, a quiet little tavern in the Opaline Vault's Lower Ward, one might almost mistake it for being common place were it not for the vast echoing weight of wards and protections you can sense just out of sight as soon as you pass between the two carved sphinxes that guard the door.

As rare as this meeting is it cannot last for long and so the greetings are brief and quickly turned to business. "I have heard that you have made many waves, Your Grace," the Grand Vizier said, sounding more comfortable with the Westerosi styling than the aquatic word-play.

"Are my deeds known so soon?" you ask feigning surprise for a moment.

"Were it subtlety you were hoping to achieve then dealing in millions of wind notes might not have been the best way to achieve that," the djinn lord interjects.

"Speaking of stirring the marid into action, I was wondering..."

"Why we have not already called on them to aid us against the Brazen Throne," the shaitan interjects. "The answer is quite simple, they have little more love of us than they do of the Brazen Throne, though with our djinn kindred drawn into the battle perhaps things may change for the better."

"I intend to attempt my own diplomatic efforts, perhaps we could collaborate on the matter," you offer, not the least surprised that they already had plans in place. It is quite pleasant to have competent allies.

"Certainly, our envoys already in place will be instructed to provide what aid they can within their remit to your efforts," the Vizier of the Whispering Shades agrees at once.

Followed shortly by his shaitan peer who adds. "You will have to discuss matters with each envoy in part, I do not know the precise details there."

You nod in understanding and in thanks. "While I was in Vialesk I also sold war-beasts to the maridar there to aid them in protecting the city. Would either the Throne of Winds or the Opal Throne be interested in a similar arrangement?"

The two officials consider the offer for a long while asking by now familiar questions about the nature of the Forge, the lore upon which it is built and finally the cost of such beasts. In the end the djinn lord declines for now while the matter is brought up with the generals of the Sultan's armies.

Mahuroos Tepani on the other hand is markedly interested. "Can you make beasts that use magics of frost, preferably over mid to long range with some protection against an enemy closing?"

You consider the Old Gods who are part of the core of both Forges, though one much more than the other. "Not at the moment, such magics are... difficult to adapt."

"A pity... then a weapon that could befuddle or incapacitate large masses of enemy slave-soldiers without killing too many of them, and something that might hunt down officers and minor mages on the field of battle."

What do you suggest?

OOC: I hope this does not feel too rushed, there is a lot of ground to cover around here so I figured we could do without things like handing over the scroll or talking with the captain of the Windbows on screen.

I think it's a good backup for all the martial Companions. Ser Richard, Waymar, and Garin as a start. Viserys could get a backup blade as well.

Keep in mind, in the update Viserys explicitly thought he wouldn't give those swords to anyone without further checks.
So there might be a minor RA blocking them?

Well, that's another reason to make the Old Gods immune to cold, acid, electricity, etc. It effectively twines their natures with the elements, and allows us to make the corresponding creatures in our Forges. Frost Warbeasts to wield against the Efreeti would be fantastic.

As we are now... @Goldfish, any idea for Fire-based Warbeasts to station at the Wall aside from some Sunwolves? Maybe a bunch of flightless drakes (probably feral so they can be led around by a ranger) with an affinity to flame?

I left one section highlighted red because I'm not sure what it was supposed to say.

@DragonParadox, with their economies on a war footing and their exchange's time limited, can you give us an idea of how much we can spend on commissions in the 1-5th, 6-10th, 11-15th, and 16th+ level range?

@Goldfish, for assassins/headhunters, later on when it's unlocked we could build a Seeker variant for this. Or we could offer Black Knight variants with flight. Flesh Forging gives us a ton of great options.
