Wow it's almost impressive that we haven't bothered with the Plane of Water yet. I'd be curious about finding exactly what mercanaries/extra planar help the Lannisters have access to.

Also, I really want a jungle kingdom... the Dornish are great at guerrilla warfare already, if we're going to take away the advantage of the desert, giving them the ability to master the jungles of Dorne will be a nice consolation!
With a rich farmland they can just reinforce the mountains at their borders and become like the Vale, they got great borders.

We can probably give them any kind of kingdom they want. They've certainly got druids to help the trees grow.

The woes of well and truly not having the time.

Fun fact, we tried to plan a trip to the Plane of Water with Relath... and then Mammon happened, and we had to spend three days forging the Serpent's Sin cloak, and after that we had to make a good showing raiding Efreeti in the Plane of Fire, etc.

I'm really happy we've finally got the time for this.

It's honestly funny how trivial it is for us to terraform Dorne at our level.

Shadow of the Doom makes tons of high quality volcanic soil, we can easily flood any lakes we dig out, etc.

Dorne will be very green after the reclamation of Westeros, and as a silver lining the Inevitables are too busy to pay attention. :p

We'll definitely want the help of Relath and Breath Taker for convincing as many as possible to come with us. They'll probably have old connections.
Relath is going to have fun during this trip isnt he? He can rub the fact that he's the ruler of a prosperous city on the POB in the noses of those other brine dragons.

He will be absolutely insufferable, but for once we will be spectators instead of being on the receiving end of it.

Oh man I'm getting flashbacks to that wonderful Walder Frey interlude now. Fun fact, I regularly try to get my ASOIAF only friends to read that chapter alone as a really funny/good character piece.

Didn't Relath also have to hide and downplay his conquest at first when we were all hush-hush about the PoB? How the tables have turned indeed.

"hey suckers, not only was my demsne bigget/richer all this time, it's in the equivalent of Mythical Avalon which is real!"

Yep, I think that the other kids Brine Dragons were pretty condescending cause the sign of an "adult" Brine dragon was to rule a region.

He did have to hide at first. He's going to have an absolute blast bragging to all the other dragons who snubbed him.

... Of course, we're probably going to see opportunists try to conquer places of their own, but they'll be dealt with if it comes to that, one way or another. Either we get vassals out of it, or the Flesh Forge has prime material ready to make a Dragon Parts machine to grow dragonbone and dragonhide.

Man we might actually run out of space in Essos soon if we want to give land to every single second or third son/distant cousin (see Freys) and a bunch of rando Dragons.

We're not short on land by any means and won't be running short any time soon. We could run the quest 1:1 for a century and we'd have undeveloped parcels to hand out for lordship or just general settlement of colonists.

What @Crake said, we won't be running out of land for a while.

And even then, there's expanding off the planet to consider. All of Prime Material is our backyard.

Terraforming the moon ain't even impractical... we can alter gravity, create an atmosphere, install a variety of biomes... all using magic.

PoW...
Honestly, in purely objective-based thinking, I recon we should put these first:
1) Find support against Illithids on PoB, mercanaries and/or knowledge an/or .ore Brine Dragons for promise of lands/shines.
2) Find out if Lannisters have been keeping to earlier mistake of theirs and buying services/items from PoW and Marid. Stopping that if yes.
3) Look for more crafters, lore, and shines in general.

That's my key interest too.

Particularly if they just had a successful offence against the Deep Ones, there must be some people who are used to fighting them and hungry for more.

The key here is, the bigger we can make our attack on them, the more the Giths will be willing to commit. Because if the Squids are under fire from all fronts they can't either use divination to ambush our attack, or use the Gith's distraction to make gains in Nirvana.

...well, if anything I've gotten out of everyone's replies to TNE's thread, is that I'm better stick to this thread only, and always be very afraid of someone finding any of many speculative posts I've made in the past.
:/

That aside, could someone direct me to info we have on PoW IC?
Is that its ruled by Brines only a supposition, or did we get that IC?
What cities had DP named (since DnD wikis are kinda weird about them Marid cities on my end) on PoW?

I'm just not sure if we are better ro focus on a single large city, or do a "tour" of sorts instead

What @Crake said, we won't be running out of land for a while.

So this question has been bugging me for a while now, and your statement here makes me think you could answer it, but how big is the prime material for this quest?

I am guessing it is not literally infinite as it is in most versions of the D&D cosmology, since if it was why would Planteos matter given there are an infinite number of versions of it out there doing the exact same thing. So the question then is of what are the limits on the prime material's size?

Hey peeps! So got news back there a few days ago, I don't have a brain tumor *Happy Dance* (That's good!)

Sad part is that I do have cluster headaches in general, so that's varying amounts of agony, at random time for the rest of my life from "words can not convey" to "anything to let out this pressure because nothing is worth this" (not hyperbole) (That's bad!)

Good part is that when they start happening as a pattern (they come in several week long bouts for some), I have been prescribed some steroids or something that ends the bout of attacks very quickly (That's good!)

That said, I've been thinking on this for a while, and I won't be coming back to aSWaH. (That's bad!)

I've started studying again, now and am trying to figure out what I want to do after this one year course (That's good!), And I just don't have the time to keep up to date with this juggernaut of a thread, what with actually spending time with people in meatspace :(. (I might catch up on the story posts in the future if I get a week or so with little on).

I would like to say this: Thank you. All of you. I was in a very bad place a few years ago and being part of this community was a bit of a touchstone to hold onto, and especially you @DragonParadox, for making this.

So, live well, be kind to one another, and thanks for all the fish ;)

Planetos itself? we are probably going with canon's "Slightly larger than earth".
As for the whole plane, it probable depends on whether you consider things like the moon and the possibility of distant stars part of the plane.
The whole "Infinite planes" does carry a lot of problems that i mentally solve by making it a similar case to planet/moon/solar system etc, we are dealing with a local part of the infinite, and sure you can keep going in any direction, but the knowledge that something is infinite does not mean its been mapped, in fact in implies the opposite.
So you keep going long enough, you can probably reach places that instead of a long history of invading and trading with Planetos, you have an entire different outsider civilization/cosmology that connects to other planets.

Well, thats my take, i'm guessing at least some of the authors of the setting have tried to find a different solution.

Also, the Red Comet is actually an Elder Evil... well, I have no proof, but that Tablet we got from the Faceless Men is rather ominous, dollars to donuts that's going to be the case, anyway.

So how many astral bodies are actually Cthullu, then? I know DP said something about the "dangers" of space travel. :V

Well, it is known that at least some celestial bodies are actually eggs...

Aww, and here I was hoping for more people returning to participate.

I'm glad to hear you are (relatively) alright, and I wish you all the best.

If a bit sad, rl does tend to take precedent over stories, no matter how entertaining.

I hope you'll get to catch up on the story soon enough, we have done lots of awesome things, and will do even more soon enough.

Honestly, I just assume that the outer space is mostly the same regular lifeless void rl-space is.

While also technically infinite as rl-space, like the planes are technically "infinite" in the ways they are described.

I.e, the edges of the expanse are just primordial soup that would take aeons to become something more then gas/energy.

Obvious eldritch exceptions aside (because of course Void Dragons are a thing, fuck), Planetos might just be the biggest focal point for extraplanar energies converging together on PoB.

I like to think that someone determined enough could go through those areas and reach other similar settings, like Faerun or The like.

... Partly because it's part of the worldbuilding for my worm crossover with the little Valyrian I wrote months ago.

Much love @BeepSmile

You'll always be part of the family, tell those headaches "Fuck You from Australia".
