    --[X] Ships
---[X] Give all the ships to the Shaitan, but with the understanding that we would pay for their repairs and elemental rebinding so the elementals aren't continuously tortured (or finding new oath-bound elementals if the current ones refuse the deal). Ask that the Shaitan lease all six ships to us for a suitable length of time (a decade would be ideal), along with helping us crew them. They would still technically be in service to the Opal Throne, but under our nominal control.
----[X] We ask that our own shipwrights and budding enchanters from the Imperium help out with rebuilding to get trained in the higher techniques so we can start doing this ourselves (especially learning how the ships function in dead gravity zones), and we ask for books the Shaitan might have on ship-building techniques. //OOC: Given that ownership of all six ships is being given to the Shaitan, getting knowledge of how they work isn't a big request.
    --[X] Weapons
---[X] Claim all the Automatic Dragonslaying weapons due to the use you could have for them soon
---[X] Ask for one example of the Force-Launchers and the Disintegration Throwers for your researchers to study
    --[X] Mundane Loot
---[X] Claim the Great Brass Seals for the planned ritual in the future
---[X] Establish a museum in collusion with the Djinn using the art seized from the Efreeti and the Asura to educate people of both foes
---[X] Split the rest of the Asura's collection three ways
---[X] Make it clear we intend to share every piece of tactically relevant intel we recover from the Efreeti Mage book and the Asuras (this will mainly be troop movements, plans for future expeditions throughout the Spheres, the plots of the Grand Sultan and the Grand Vizier, etc.)
-[X] Use Scribe's Binding on the soul of the Efreeti Mage and use the usual spells to quickly read the book and get the following:
--[X] Get a list of the Efreeti Mage's spells that can potentially be learned from the book
--[X] What was the Efreeti's goal in Valyria?
---[X] And how did they even find out about it?
--[X] What treasures do they know the locations of in Valyria and how did they plan to reach them? More to the point, what stops the Grand Vizier from simply teleporting there and running off with whatever they were after?
---[X] Learn what contingencies where in place for that particular expedition (immediate retaliation force, the Grand Vizier himself showing up, etc) and whether or not we need to be gearing up for round two.

--[X] What research projects are the Grand Vizier and his apprentices working on?
--[X] Where is the Grand Sultan at in his quest for godhood, and what different methods has he tried so far and which ones is he currently pursuing or considering pursuing?

---[X] In particular get the name of the familiar that managed to escape -- also ask if it has any means available to have its nature changed and render its true name useless
--[X] Before the Asurendra was slain he said, "Strike me down and you shall draw the eye of He whom you most fear, little idol." Does the Efreeti Mage know the details of this statement?

    --[X] Get her name
--[X] Get what true names she knows
--[X] See what she knows about the various plots woven among the Asuras, Efreetis, and Devils
--[X] See what she can tell us of her former master in particular
--[X] See how viable she could be as a potential recruit

Also the collars. Dont think I missed that blue smoke and relieved sigh they made when broken. What did the Asura use angel spines or something to make slave collars? Would fit. If so loot.

Did anything come out of those holy rose thorns? Or is it in the pile of pending research? If so outsource it to the Djinn in return for a promise of a garden of em! Also put up a 100 barrels of Dawn Mead and a absurd reward in the Djinn equivalent of a Adventurers Tavern for any flower, fruit or assorted plant from the Upper Planes. Heck make a standard reward for the first of any cool plant, animal or material they bring us.

It's time to outsource shiny finding to plane of blue genie dudes.

Propably the souls in Living Brass.

These Efreeti are worse than the Valyrians.
Yes, your average Valyrian will burn a sparrow's heart for a "wake me up" ritual each morning if he doesn't like the taste of coffee.
But Efreeti seem to use tortured souls for everything from decoration, to equipment to chamberpots.

Us having superior ships despite them having a few millennias lead on us doesn't mske sense to me. Like it just sounds implausible. Like if the genies wanted they could probably wish for better ships, like it should a simple matter for a powerfull mage to make similar insight that we have made into diffrent things required for a ship like the moonchaser. Why are we so much better at it????

@egoo , I see the Wisps minor action.

I might be a minority here, but I personally want to pop in, solve all their problems and attempt to recruit them, if only to show how we are a better dragonman than them.

So maybe just leave the action subject to a vote about what to do about them?
Mhm, sorry, but I'm not really seeing it IC - weren't Viserys feelings on the matter along the lines of "MAIM KILL BURN" as they were stated?
It's not really worth our time to do quests/recruitment pitches for them either :/
Taking a tiny petty revenge, on the other hand, is an hour's matter at worst with our avaliable spells and resources.

Or is it in the pile of pending research?
Yep.
And it's not really the kind of research we could hand off willy-nilly to a nation already at war.
Researching Others are one thing, but it is basically a vanity project for someone with their life-spans, and certainly not a priority.
[] A Rose, Sprout Anew: The Black Thorn Ring, desecrated as it was, is still perhaps the last remaining Heavenly Rose in existence... Or anywhere close your reach.
-[] Remove the corrupting influence, attempting to restore the plant to what it once was - and giving you yet one more tiny piece of Broken Heavens that may yet help restore it.
(Progress/Cost: Depends on the Deity used to cleanse the corruption - exact efects do as well)
Not to mention, that we basically need a Deity to do it, and Genie aren't big on Gods, Good or not.

We are approaching the topic from a different perspective I guess.

As Crake said, our ships are overengineered and overpriced, compared to taking something like a navy-ship and slapping bound elementals into it.

Besides, the Genie are all races who need these ships much less than humans do. For Djinn or Efreeti for example simply flying out from the ship and fighting the enemy is much simpler and cheaper than ship weapons.

I mean sure, but atleast some would have tried improving it over the years, the sheer probability is in their favour.

I genuinely don't want these Efreeti ships and their evil engines. ..

Anyway, we also need to make sure the Sultan didn't put a remote self-destruct in them to prevent rebellion. Doesn't that sound like something he would do?

@Duesal
What about paying the Cryomancer?

We are only talking about sharing with the Shaitan here, shouldn't we ask what the Djinni might want for her help?
The Shaitan offered boarding parties on the spot, and its them who even can retrofit the ships, so it makes sense to give the ships to them.

What would you like to give the Cyromancer? I can't think of anything beyond cash for a CR 20 encounter.

Lya also noted that she doesn't know the spell noted properly, so it'll probably take a small research action for her to figure out how to scribe scrolls via wild arcana.
Or she learns the spell from her Wild Arcana, then scribing it is trivial.

Though we already have Rings of Battlemage Perception, we could give the Archmage one of those, then she has it and can learn it at her leisure.

Having Lya learn more spells is an objective anyway. Didn't we say that Lya could scribe a few scolls in her spellbook for "free" (yay Rings of Sustenance!) each month? Or am I misremembering?

Do we have the trained crew to operate any of the captured ships, do our allies have them, and what is more efficient for the war effort (and propaganda).

If you include PF spells, there is also Fiery Tentacles, Greater Black Tentacles, and Blood Tentacles. Huh, I remember a lot of tentacle spells…
Well you are from the far realm, so I guess those spells reminds you a bit of home.
As a note I would point out that a CR 10-12 mage is not surviving in Valyria without a miracle. There are enemies in that region that eat that kind of creature casually.
It's not going to be easy, but the mage do have a decent chance, the region is dangerous, but he's at least on par with the lesser creatures in Valyria, and Efreeti don't need to eat or drink, so he can play it far more safe, than the other things on the bottom of Valyria's foodchain can, so while he's only going to thrive if he manages to unlock leveling, surviving is definitely possible, weaker and less intelligent creatures than him do it, and their survival requirements are higher than his.

So I would say he has a 50/50 chance of managing to leave, if he proves unable to level, if he manages to level, then his chance of leaving is much better, and he also have a chance of carving out a Valyrian territory.

DP recently clarified Lya's method of learning spells using the new system. For each spell she learns, one point of Progress will be subtracted from whatever research project she is working on during the month. I'm perfectly fine with that trade-off. Four or five spells per month doesn't seem excessive, IMO. We can start using this mechanic next month.

As for scrolls, Lya has a Quill of Scribing which allows her to produce one scroll per day without using her own time or her Dedicated Wrights. We've been using them for months to produce a lot of scrolls. If you check their character sheets, most of our casters now have a Spoilered single-use items section that includes their scroll inventory. Lya produces higher level scrolls, but our Quill equipped Shaitan crafters produce the vast majority.

A lot of work went in to exploring and engineering a solid use out of a relatively obscure magical mechanism to make a powerful engine. I wouldn't say it's a case of us just being flat better as it is a case of differing perspectives and opportunities. The genies developed their systems ages ago and have them down to a science. They can churn them out in massive shipyards and probably have plenty of high performance machines to fill different roles.

As I see it, IC it's more like we stumbled onto a useful trick, then leveraged all our existing magical knowledge and ability (collected from dragon dreams, the old gods, Yss, the genie, and elsewhere) to design the ship. We have plenty of boosts that turn researchers into hyper lucky geniuses with flashes of sublime insight to take advantage of the huge piles of information and resources we use for these kinds of project.

The genie could probably do the same - magic letting you divine how various tests will go, and boosting your ability to leverage those results, speeds the whole design process up. They couldn't just wish for it because that's not how wishing works; it's just a spell, as powerful as it is. It can provide int boosts, luck, divination, and all kinds of advantages. Wish can't just put together novel information for you; there isn't an "unseen engineer" spell, and it cant think for you.

However, just cause the genie can doesn't mean they will. They already have something that works, and don't have the time or inclination to seek out a new solution to a problem they've already solved. Why build hovercraft when you have perfectly functional cars?

Also, again, having something be over-engineered and overpriced isn't necessarily a good solution to a problem, not for a massive Empire who has to provide service (the military/commerce) using their transport capability to a significantly greater amount of territory, in addition to usage against an enemy similarly happy to slap together dozens of ships in the time-frame it would take to make six of the former.

We're content with it because the expenditure differentials don't exactly mean much to us but having safe and extremely efficient and effective ships does make a large qualitative and quantafiable difference on the scale we are currently using them.

If we want to keep using these design principles, we are probably going to have to work on our macro a lot more and eke out more ways to acquire material, to get more enchanter manpower, or make enchanting large contiguous objects more efficient. Or else we are going to run into the same problems that drove the Genies to utilize tried and true solutions.

tl;dr MODERN PROBLEMS REQUIRE MODERN SOLUTIONS.

It should also be noted that our Wyvern are, compared to most skyships, extremly one-note.
You can bomb with them, or use a pre-installed weapon.

They are not meant for close combat, having a mage or outsider as pilort does not enhance them at all, switching weapons is difficult (except for the payload of bombs), transport-capacity is minimal and maeuverability is not good, at least while keeping up decent speeds.

These are dedicated bombers with a minor ability as fighter-jets.

A proper skyship is a mobile base, that can be used for various purpose and roles in transport and fighting, that can hold a strong crew for boarding and that can serve as an artillery platform for almost any weapon that fits on a deck, from enchanted ballistas to 9th circle mages.

While yes he could be capable of surviving I am saying it would take a miracle because of the Ash Storm coming this way. Now if he manages to get out of that, which is unlikely considering how close it was is chances go way up. But my point focuses more on. the general inhospitability of the land as well as the devastating ash storm. I am fully betting on it doing fire damage that pierces immunities. Yes after the fire storm his chances go up...if he survives relatively unscathed anyway.
