[X] Plan Wrapping It Up -[X] If he hasn't already done so, Viserys secures the Soul Trapped Efreeti mage in his cloak. -[X] Ask Malarys and Lya to quickly begin coordinating with the Shaitan ship captains to bring the Efreeti vessels under control, performing what damage control they can and readying them to Plane Shift. If they have a secure berth we can temporarily transport the ships to on the Plane of Earth, ask them to Plane Shift them there so that we can sort through them more thoroughly without the threat of reinforcements arriving or the apporaching ash storm. If a location is not available, we will instead transport them to the Plane of Air for now. --[X] While the others arrange our departure, Viserys will briefly visit each ship and use a Miracle spell to free the slaves on board, first exhausting his 8th level spell slots via Versatile Spellcasting before using 9th level slots. Before he begins freeing them, he will first Blood Wish a Mage's Decree spell, telling everyone to lay down their arms and surrender once their collars are removed. --[X] Freed slaves will be given an opportunity to join us or the Shaitan after we are safely away from Valyria. Ships to damaged to travel on their own will be Plane Shifted by Viserys, should it prove necessary. --[X] Pass the word among the raiders and our allies to be on the lookout for the possessed mage. It cannot have gone far.
[X] Use miracles to free as many of the remaining crew as you can
-[X] wild arcana Mages Decree to attempt to direct survivors to the deck of the ship where we can work out what to do with them.
-[X] While Viserys does this, Dany and Lya look for the body. If they find it, they can decide if it's a manageable risk given the support available. Should Viserys finish before they do, he joins the hunt.
[X] Use miracles to free as many of the remaining crew as you can
-[X] Use an AMF where there are large numbers of them in one place in case we need miracles for something else.
To be fair, my normal reaction to having to interact with a 12 year old can best be summed up as: or or
Then again, if you're in the City of Brass and walk into a magic shop that only seems to have a 12 year old boy manning the counter, it's probably best to assume he's not your average preteen.

There's really only two major canon coastal cities in Yi Ti. Unless we plan on having them visit Asshai (seems dangerous) there's little point in sending them onto Jinqi.

Though the Asurendra is dead, you remember well its words of foresight. A storm is coming, one that would drive slaves to take their own lives. There will be more than ash upon the wind, of that you can be certain. You begin calling out commands to secure the Wheels of Far Travel and report on their state at once even as you make your way out of the ship by opening another passage through the hull. Time is lives, not only the lives of the slaves Dany asked you to save but potentially the lives of your friends and allies if the storm sweeps in over a broken and disorganized fleet.
While the others race to help the Shaitan in their tasks, as well as making sure the captains of the more distant frigates know what to do, you sweep over each ship and six times you speak the same command: "Break." Steel rusts as the magic that held them in place bleeds into the air and for a moment you could swear there was a glimmer of blue in the scorched heavens, a whisper of relief upon the furnace winds. Truth or fancy it passes in the blink of an eye, but the true weight of your deed is far more lasting. At your silent decree the vast majority of the surviving slave soldiers choose to surrender, though for some of them freedom is cut tragically short, as their officers kill them for their treason before they are in turn overwhelmed.
About a third of the crew survived the brief but vicious battle, unsurprisingly including none of the officers. Even by the standards of the Brazen Throne the degree of servitude kept in this expedition was extreme and the vengeance of the slaves in like measure. The most senior of the Shaitan captains seems quite embarrassed beneath his stoic facade by the lapse in capturing officers, but you are quick to assure him that you do not hold any of your allies to be at fault. Between securing all the former Efreeti Swordships to move out and ensuring that none of the former slaves knowingly or unknowingly carried any arcane traps, the crews of the Peerless Empire acquitted themselves with skill as much as honor.
"Interrogating the dead may be more troublesome than the living, but with patience and the aid of a skilled diviner it can be done just as well," you conclude before flying one last circle around the newly secured fleet.
By a stroke of luck all the Wheels of Far Travel had been either intact or so poorly sabotaged that a few minutes work had been enough to get them in working order, though on the other side of the coin no one had caught any sight of the possessed mage's body. Whether that meant he had left Valyria behind by magic or if he had simply managed to hide among the jagged ravines and broken peaks below no one can say for certain. The mage had a talisman to guard against divination which his treacherous familiar took along with its master's body.
"Do we look for the damn thing?" Ser Richard asks while flying besides you on his own enchanted wings. The knight is obviously torn between frustration at leaving an enemy behind and a desire not to see you and Dany face anymore unknown perils.
"Assuming the dead Asura was being exact in his foresight, we have about ten minutes until the ash-storm strikes, if of course it's going to strike here since the prediction was based on the expedition continuing on its way."
"Are you willing to wager on that, Your Grace?" the knight asks.
"Maybe if I were only wagering gold and not lives," you reply without hesitation. "These ships need to get to a safe harbor."
The Peerless Empire is more than happy to secure that safe harbor, so parting ways with Lady Samira of the Djinn you make your way besides friends and vassals to the Opaline Vault's military docks.
***
A delegation of Shaitan military officials meet you there to ensure proper docking procedures and to secure the prisoners, who are to your relief not re-enslaved, likely as a diplomatic courtesy. However, while the status of the two-score-and-three Azers and Ifrits who choose to swear to you rather than the Opal Throne is easily settled, the ships themselves present something of a conundrum. This is the first time you have captured Efreeti ships beside you allies, and while you suspect they would be willing to let you keep all the spoils as long as you share any intelligence you gather, that might not send the best message going forward.
Ships:
2 Lightly Damaged Sword Class Ships
3 Moderately Damaged Sword Class Ships
1 Heavily Damaged Sword Class Ships
Weapons:
17 Force Launchers (as previously encountered)
13 Automatic Dragon-Slaying Deck weapons
4 Disintegration Casters (difficult to remove)
Mundane Treasure:
25,000 Great Brass Seals: Ship funds and liquid wealth
38,000 Great Brass Seals: Asura's Personal Collection of art mostly damaged or warped in 'artistic' ways, includes several sculptures carved into previously petrified individuals illegal to sell in the Peerless Empire
19,500 Great Brass Seals: Furnishings and art of Efreeti officers, includes a small number of looted Valyrian valuables, but is mostly of Efreeti make. Could be used to establish a museum exhibit on life for the elite of the City of Brass for educational/propaganda purposes
16,800 Great Brass Seals: Minor enchanted items (resistance and stat boosters, PfG talismans, etc...)
How do you divide the spoils of the raid?
[] Write in
OOC: Pretty good rolls where it really mattered. The officers would have been really hard to save, and I obviously can't reveal what if any rolls were made to find the escaped Fiend.
Well, that just makes it more ominous.
Oh well, another one to chalk up with Valaena's Nemesis shadowcaster...
@everyone, all in agreement our actions from here being:
1) having a talk with Maenads that Inquisitors seem to have "freed" and learning as much as we can, while setting boundaries for their faith.
2) going to Lys and doing out best to resolve it after we have stopped progress by taking people off - and that not to mention there being an apparent 3rd party acting against us and Fey both.
?
@DragonParadox, is there a way to program them to make them ignore Viserys and his subordinate True Dragons and Valyrian Dragons? Some kind of special talisman we could carry or something? This is a hell of a tool against Tiamat and her beasts.

Okay well the GBS are useful for our ritual we're preparing for, so citing that as reasoning for taking them seems perfectly valid. In addition, I say grant every captured ship but the flag vessel to the Peerless Empire who captured them, establish a museum with that art and loot with the Djinn for propaganda purposes, and split the Asura's collection and minor items three ways symbolically.
Also take an example of the previously unencountered weapons for research purposes.
As a side next month we should try to see if we can use the soul of the guy to try and track the body through the staff. I don't like that he could still be alive. If he is dead then that is great but him being alive bothers me a lot.
Edit: In that I mean we divine him this turn and keep an eye on his movements and if he isn't heading towards the thing we can hit him next turn.
