Repairing and refitting those ships would be a huge boon to our extraplanar navy, which at the moment consists of nine Wyvern fighters and the soon to be completed Moonchaser.

If they're powered by enslaved Elementals or some other unfortunates, perhaps we can engineer an alternative.

@DragonParadox, what do the sword ships use for a power source?

EDIT: Or we can pay the Shaitan to refit them to use the same as their ships, maybe?

I think we can keep four ships just fine, but taking all of them and not giving the Shaitan or Djinn anything to show for the blood they shed sets a bad tone for the alliance.

But yes, the Shaitan and the Djinn should be more than capable of retrofitting the Swordships for whatever power sources their ships use instead.

Yeah, I can settle for four of the Sword ships, though I want the ones with the Disintegration casters for sure.

The Shaitan bargain with and pay the elemental powering their ships. the pacts that allow them to do so are among the oldest and most sancrosanct on the plane of earth. The Djinn either use straight wind manipulation or supplement it with minor non-sapient elemntals (which they treat them well of course).
Can we get in on that action?

Let us see if we can negotiate, they fix the all the 'gull ships and contract the elementals, we get to keep four, including the flagship.
I don't want to waste time fixing them ourselves.

@DragonParadox would this be a fair deal?
We can cover the expenses if it's not.

The Peerless Empire can build you propulsion systems as long as you are fine with your engines owing fealty to a different monarch, actually becoming party to the pacts that allow them to perform those willing bindings would be a far more complex diplomatic process if it is even posibile.
It's something I would be interested in exploring.

They came here to help us, so a better deal for them seems like a good move. There benefits from this fight are largely indirect and are largely better for us than them. Sending the message " helping the dragon is good business " is worth quite a bit. If we take more ships we should give more somewhere else.

The ships would also be very helpful when we raid the City of Brass to destroy the Living Brass Forge.

@Goldfish, for now we're probably better off just bargaining with the current elementals for their fealty or something, with the intention of replacing them with whatever engines the Moonchaser uses.

I'm interested in poking at this and getting in on that action, but it's certainly not going to be a simple process.

I understood the infiltration part of the plan, but how flashy do you intend to be when we actually raid the Forge itself? Also I'm not sure teleporting/plane shifting out of the middle of the City of Brass with all the loot is going to be easy.

This is the first time they've helped us at all. We've conducted three highly successful raids on Efreeti shipping without them and I don't even think they paid us the bounty for the last one.

I'm willing to part with two of the ships, maybe even three of absolutely necessary, but no more.

Giving them two ships for their aid and co-founding a museum with the Djinn is plenty. Unlike them, our air force is tiny. @Goldfish is right in saying this is a major force multiplier for us.

I'm planning to sow absolute chaos and destruction throughout the City of Brass while we raid the Forge. We need the Efreeti in utter disarray, confused, and trying to put out dozens of fire all across the city so that they can't focus on the raiding force looting and destroying the forge.

@Duesal let's negotiate with the Shaitan so they fix the ships and contract the elementals for us in exchange for a larger share of the loot, I don't want to waste resources on fixing them ourselves.

The current elementals have been enslaved, apart from the trauma of slavery itself the bindings they are in are painful. It is unlikely they would wish to continue to serve in that function.
Of course, but I take it the Djinn and Shaitan can be hired to make less painful bindings should the elementals agree to those at least? If the answer there is still a no, I guess we try to hire elementals for the purpose.

Also @DragonParadox, can you give us the stats for the Swordships? How big are they? What enchantments, defenses, and weaponry do they have? How fast can they fly?

The Valyrian Spike may help us on our way to our own way of powering ships.

If we go the Elemental route I'd like to use Fire, Water and Steam elementals. PoB yo.

@egoo , I see the Wisps minor action.

I might be a minority here, but I personally want to pop in, solve all their problems and attempt to recruit them, if only to show how we are a better dragonman than them.

So maybe just leave the action subject to a vote about what to do about them?

One of these needs to be a barely planar worthy absolutely massive barge, fill it with undead from the Dothraki Sea and crash it into the palace.
