From what we know of Darleth and his fondness for fortifications, I think erring on the side of specificity is warranted here when mentioning our desire to protect our citizens.

Given the possibility of our ancestors having a poor reputation across the Planes, especially among Dragons, do not mention that we are descendants of Valyria unless hiding it would seem likely to prove damaging to future interaction with Darleth the Delver.

@Deliste, @Goldfish, I'm against mentioning Valyria by name or hinting that we're descended from it. Valyria probably has a poor reputation among the Planes, and I'm sure a Dragon would at least have dreamed about it.
I strongly suggest that we say something like "I'm done with relying on the Bitch Queen and want to fortify my Empire, without resorting to Valyria's arts"

I will specify in mine that we don't mention it unless Viserys determines it counterproductive to try to hide it.

The thing is that if we mention Plane of Balance/Garden, anyone with a notion of Valyria knows that it was a Dragon related Empire that dominated said Garden.

Well that's just unavoidable. Darleth, or one of his representatives, would only need to ask pretty much any Shaitan official to be able to get that much information about us. We haven't exactly made a point of hiding that facet of our ancestry.

He's level 15:, I just had him as straight sorcerer with a metamagic focus in my last sheet. I might rebuild him into something more interesting.
