I opened this article, pressed CTRL + F and searched for "brain", and got zero results. Please explain.

It talks about divided minds, which isn't the same as brains. It seems like they're just afflicted with a bad case of the movie version of schizophrenia.
In terms of biology that's true, if we want to go on a pure biology perspective I might have been wrong, but the mind is divided enough, that they can keep secrets from each other, so I would say they are 2 people in 1 body.

Any one else think that Gremlins would corner the market on dump prank shows? Honestly expect Glyra to make one with her troupe at some point.

Hey @Azel, can you bribe devils?
They can betray their lords after all, if there's enough of a personal benefit for them involved. Could they perform smaller betrayals if they felt likely to get away with it in exchange for a bribe?

We could probably use True Names of other Devils as extremely valuable currency for Diabolic bribery.

Pretty astounding how getting initiated in this quest is like investing in 1.75 ASoIaFs or probably four or five different fantasy epics.

Actually it's probably way harder than that, since everyone knows the truly hardcore read all the discussion in between updates.

You also need to know a bunch about DnD and Asoiaf.

I mean, not really on the DnD part. Many people here learned that on the fly.

ASoIaF is a bit iffy since a lot of it is a fusion of D&D (and GRRM and D&D writers swapped a ton of references and it is clear in his world building, especially in Essos where most of the quest is set).

But yeah I'll admit, having read the first book and at least skimmed the wikipedia is probably necessary to understand the greater implications of some of our decisions.

I came at this from the D&D angle tbh. GoT looks like a frustrating read to me. A bunch of people being assholes + medieval stasis for thousands of years.

Might as well study history for that the first one tbh, and technology is cool imo.

So yeah, people talk about dividing various parts of westeros and my mind just blanks on it :p

Give me rocket tag anyday ;)

The medieval stasis is a bit of a misconception IMO. If anything they are evolving bit faster than RL. It was only around a thousand years from the advent of iron to late-medieval plate, of course said plate then stayed far more uncommon than IRL because GRRM does not understand (or does not care) how military technology works

 ah, cheers.

Still think the highest level of Brravos tech should also be available to Westeros highest classes at extreme cost, but that opinion is based on very loose osomsis "knowledge"

It kind of is, if you want a Myrish Glass you go buy one, the same for any other small portable luxuries. Of course there are things you can't very well ship off, like the methods of the Braavosi arsenal and others that depend on social/cultural conditions that are not there like wide-spread banking.

And gunpowder. Medieval stasis would be only half as annoying and stupid if they at least had gunpowder.

But no, we always get full plate mail, but never an arquebus...

I would guess it has something to do with the fact that nobody ever gave the King Arthur treatment to early ballistics infrastructure and support.

Hard to have a lone exile or escape fantasy with camp followers.

But don't you know Azel, gun-powder don't work in on Planetos, god declared that he would personally, kick any gun-powder that tried to explode into unconsciousness, and the powder is too afraid to test him.:D
