I'm starting to think that the Royce bloodline has some sort of supernatural element in it that, with the return of magic, is turning them all into Shounen protagonists.

"Not today", DP, seriously?

OOC: For all Waymar was very concerned about accepting the Erinyes' pledges at the time he is not one for second guessing himself. He trusts them and values their aid. Also here is a bit of a peek into Waymar's fears for the future and for his family. Though he may not have much else in common with the Sealord he too fears what would happen in Viserys were to die. Since I know you guys will ask but I did not want to break up the flow of the story with it, you captured 1 Advanced Gilded Devil (12 HD) Cleric Creature and 3 Bearded Devils. A further 5 bearded devils were killed. You got Lamentation and some loot I have not rolled for (I'm tempted to just go with gold you guys do not really need more minor magic items).

And with that we have all the Caster class templates. Oh I am so happy. We are going to have a cleric template and soon we will also have the martial templates next.

Hot damn, that was a good interlude. Badassery flows in the Royce blood, it seems, like ale and medieval cheese wiz flows through Robert Baratheon's.

you might have noticed we the winged figures held without fear in the hands of children,
I wonder if the Erinyes are weirded out by this.

Being figures of awe and heroism for mortals again.

"You are doomed all of you doomed, the Pact will not be undone by petty trickery!"
"Petty trickery must defeat petty trickery :V."

(Also I'm offended, that was some pretty decent trickery if I do say so myself.)

This only provides further evidence to my hypothesis!!

"Heroism has been passed down the Royce family line for generations!"

I expect it's something that will end up referred to in passing in one of the final assembly chapters. Charity is certainly not pleased in the slightest, but she can also understand the stakes here. With so much on the line she'll hate that her husband has to go, but will also know that he has to. It's what makes him the man she loves.
Does the curse only affect first born? I think some of the carpenter children are in the age bracket for it, aren't they?

I wouldn't call it trickery.
We took a fair challenge.

I wonder what possessed Mammon to offer a remotly fair challenge?
Pride, I think. Or the desire to get one of the party in hell as a lure for the rest, even if it cost him an Avatar?

I grieve. I grieve that we did not run divination beforehand to find out that Mammon would show up and make such an offer.

I grieve that we did not get every single freaking god we don't have problems with to hide a tiny bit of themselves in the snare while we fought Mammon.

Imagine, the MK, the OG, Yss, the Weeping Lady, the Moonsinger Goddess.. all of them, released from the parts of the First Pact that Mammon had dominion over. That would have been fucking amazing. Ah, hindsight.

Also, is everyone who was released from the Pact now immune to the "do not attack me" SU of harvester devils that belong to Mammon?

I've yet to hear anything over the years that would make me want to watch GoT.

After ASWAH, especially, it just doesn't seem interesting.
The first four seasons are pretty loyal to the books, IIRC.

As I really liked the books, I really liked the show.

This latest is essentially running on immediate gratification. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of scenes that are immediately cool, and the soundtrack is on fucking point, but if you stop and think about it, it's almost as dumb as it is cool.

I would watch the shit out of a ASWAH series. Just putting that out there.
If anyone here is or suddenly becomes filthy rich, they should fund at least an animated series. Even the very best stuff should be orders of magnitude cheaper than GoT-quality CGI. Dem dragons.
To quote a random Youtube Comment:

Its almost impossible to defeat an army that has no sense of self preservation and a critical lack of brains...

But the Night King almost did it.
Fooking hilarious.

Oh, so that's what my friend meant by this:

and then the king, who has no reason to come out whatsoever, gets killed by some completely to his plotline unrelated character, that only LEARNED of the undead one episode ago

What even is storytelling?
It is explained that he was personally going for the Three Eyed Raven, as that was his biggest goal: destroy the living repository of knowledge and history. He had a bone to pick.

And to be fair, the scene when the Night King begins advancing on Winterfell are amazing to watch. The silence, the haunting, Hans Zimmer-worthy soundtrack, the desperate battle all-around while he implacably advanced. It was fantastic.

Him not dying to Dragonfire but dying to VS is a complete violation of the lore, yeah. His smug smirk after walking out of the fire was a perfect 10/10, tho. Mad props to the actor for that.

And holy shit, I just realized Bloodraven is ASOIAF's Archive.
