Hmm Angel dream/healing plus telling her to fight Lucan on everything=painful conclave for everyone involved. All we need to do is keep on deepening the divide and make all this really hurt.

Can we get a list of stuff everyone gets, like the previous time?
That one was neat to read through

Sure. Not much amazing stuff this time, mostly a lot of stat upgrades and upgrading as many casters as possible with Raiment of the Four effects.

Most of the spellcasting Companions are getting the Ring of Spell-Battle effect added to their gear, though. That's a huge upgrade. We are now Team Counterspell.

If we visit her at all i feel it should be in the dream realm, since that'd distinguish us from Lucan's angels, who she's clearly not too impressed by. We can have someone else slip in physically to heal her body while Dany talks her around in the dream.

Dany can literally bring her body into the Dream, if I'm not mistaken, and heal her there.

To everyone who cares, I just wanted to let you guys know that I didn't take a break from the thread solely for the sake of being annoyed and frustrated, though that was certainly a factor.

I am in legal trouble right now.

In college I am an International Business major, and one of my classes is finance. I almost never pay attention in that class, and the teacher knows it and hates me for it. But one part of that class is if you have perfect attendance you get an extra 10% on your final score. If you miss one class, you get an extra 5%. If you miss two, zero percent extra. Three or more and you start losing points. However, so long as you show up every day and sign in on the attendance sheet you're safe.

I was eating lunch on Friday and the teacher randomly walks up to me and goes, "I don't recall seeing you in class." At first I thought it was some kind of power play so he could prove how much I hadn't been paying attention, but after a few questions it became clear he was accusing me of having my signature forged for the attendance sheet. Given the points at stake, that's tantamount to cheating, which is an expellable offense.

Let me preface this by stating that these accusations are utter bullshit.

Since I hadn't paid attention, I of course couldn't answer any questions about class that day. He then decided I must have had my signature forged, and proceeded to tell me he would "pursue it".

I went straight to my counselor, who told me to go to the teacher's supervisor, and I told her everything. She told me to gather as much evidence as possible, and when the accusation was formally made I could be ready.

I spent the entire day going to every other professor and asking for emails to say I had attended their classes that day. I went to other students asking them to vouch for me. I've just been busy. I don't even know if this will be enough. I could end up expelled right before I graduate.

So I've got to get this taken care of and make sure this son of a bitch can't get me expelled before I can consider coming back.

I would love to return to playing as normal, but at the moment I'm just too distracted.

I think I'll speak for everyone here by saying that IRL takes precedence, and I'm not sure if anyone can even blame you for not playing.
I, for one, really wish you luck with this bullshit.

I hope you resolve this successfully, and come back, still.

Jesus. Best of luck man.

Just a question, but does your college have security cameras in the classrooms? I know it probably doesn't, but it's always a possibility and, if they do, video evidence is pretty much impossible to counter.

Unfortunately not. That was one of the first things I checked.

And my professor outright didn't care that my signature was consistent for the entire semester, or that the people who have sat next to me for the entire time would be ready and willing to vouch for me. I'm really not sure how much evidence would have helped here.

Jeez, that sentence scared the crap out of me. In a "We might never see our adorable magpie again" kind of sense.

Still, that problem is... complicated. Generally, part of being a good student is to pretend that you are paying attention, even if you aren't, if only so that the professor thinks you are better than you are (thus setting that idea in his mind and making finals easier).

Now, how to go back from that? I think that the best thing you can do is start studying, asking classmates, and talking with that professor to show up that you do in fact care about that subject and that you want to graduate. It might actually be worth more than the evidence that said that you did assist at this point, because if that guy is persuing you like that, it is because he felt personally offended at the notion that you were skipping his classes (or not paying attention).

I wish you the best of luck in that regard.

Oh, there is no doubt he has a personal vendetta against me. However, even if I wanted to it's far too late to even attempt to fix things between us. Monday will be the last class of the entire semester, with the Finals on Wednesday. I'm more or less at his mercy now, and he doesn't seem to be in a merciful mood.

Damn, that's tough Duesal. Best of luck!
Honestly things aren't looking good for me. Even if I don't get expelled, the fact that this happened right before finals makes me believe I'm not going to pass that class no matter what.
Wait, your finals don't have an anonymous written part? Damn.

Still, were you really going to pass if you hadn't been listening in class? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There should be a college code of conduct or something like it involving formal accusations, and the form they take. Any form of formal complaint of this type should (I can't say it will) take into account witness testimony and the like. Basically, I can't see this being something that your professor will be able to just flat up throw at you and have the person making the decisions go "Yeah, ok.", especially not if you dispute it and there almost has to be means for that. I mean, you wouldn't have been advised to gather evidence and supporting statements if you were unable to dispute something like this.

Bluntly, your teacher sounds like the sort of person who may be doing this to try and rattle you so you fail, but if this does go further I'd very seriously consider seeking legal advice on the matter if you have access to it. Because, um...this is the sort of power abuse shit that ethics boards and good character clauses eat raw and without salt. It's also a direct attack on your ability to go forward with your life, which could (armchair lawyering here, seek legal advice instead of trusting any of the following) leave them or even the college liable if you're expelled via an accusation which proves false.

I hope to god it doesn't go that far, but if it looks like it might, have backups ready and make sure to have looked into your options in as much as you possibly can.

I was actually doing fine in the class before this. The homework has all the types of problems that show up on the test, so I just drill those in my head and I've been doing well that way. It's just in class this professor was one of the worst lecturers I've ever had to sit through, so I inevitably drift off.

I will definitely do my research there. This is at a dangerous time for me since it's right before graduation, so I definitely need to be careful. Thanks for the advice, Snowfire.

Well this got away from me just a bit. Thoughts and suggestions?

The goal is to set Septa Maer up as the leader of a staunchly anti-magic faction, but one which does not preach violence against those who use magic.

Updated version posted further into the thread.

[X] Plan Touched by an Angel
-[X] Dany will assume her Half-Celestial form garbed in silver robes, adjusting her appearance to resemble that of an idealized version of the street urchin Septa Maer aided, then visit Septa Maer via the Dreaming. Viserys will tag along, but remain hidden from Maer's sight.
--[X] She will be buffed using Air of Nobility, Voice of the Dragon, Divine Insight, Grand Destiny, Greater Heroism, Moment of Greatness, and Greater Angelic Aspect, along with her Holy Aura spell-like ability, to sell the illusion. Viserys will provide spells as necessary.

--[X] In addition to the Heal and Regenerate spells she prepares regularly, Dany will also prepare a Restoration spell in place of Dimensional Anchor.
-[X] Upon reaching Maer, Dany will bring her into the Dreaming and "wake" her in a chamber identical to the one she is sleeping within.
--[X] "Greetings, Child," Dany speaks. "Be not afraid, for the Seven watch over their faithful and I am their messenger." She will converse with the Septa, answering what questions she can without giving away too much, using the excuse of any she cannot answer as mysteries not yet meant to be revealed.
---[X] Eventually, she will get to the purpose of her visit. "You are dying, Septa Maer. Without intervention, you shall soon fall into a slumber from which you will not wake, and then your soul will slip its moorings to return to the loving embrace of the Seven Who Are One."
----[X] "Loath though they are to tamper with the fate of their children, the Seven ask that you remain among the living, for they have a mission of great importance for you to fulfill." At this point, if she hasn't used them already, Dany will expend Divine Insight, Moment of Greatness, and a Grand Destiny charge to convince Maer to accept this mission, if she seems reluctant. Once Maer is convinced, Dany will cast Heal, Restoration, and Regenerate on her.
-----[X] "The force you call magic is not inherently evil," Dany explains,"but it is not meant to be wielded by mortal hands, for such forces are a corrupting influence upon the soul. Each soul is a marvelous creation, beautiful beyond description for one who has eyes to see it. Mortal magic injures the soul, more for the worker of magic than the recipient of their spells, but none escape its use unscathed. Small harms inflicted upon the soul can heal given time, just as a wounded body might recover, but rare are the practitioners who give their souls the opportunity to recover before inflicting permanent harm to themselves which not even the Seven can fully repair."

------[X] "This is the message the Seven ask you to share with your fellows. Do not persecute those who work magic, nor hold them in contempt. They are ignorant of the harm they inflict upon themselves and others. It is within your power to alleviate their ignorance, Septa Maer. You must educate them, for they are children who know no better."
-------[X] "Beware violence or coercion in the name of the Seven, for they weep to see their children turn one upon the other. Do not attempt to force magic wielding Faithful to set aside their spells, for your duty is merely to spread the message, not to enforce their doctrine."
--------[X] "Farewell, Septa. We will meet again, when the time is right."

Hmmm. How much of an apology did you give him?

I mean, the guy is going to fail you a couple of times probably, but showing at least a good predisposition at getting on better terms might help on later attempts.

I seriously doubt that this will go far. That's not the problem at all as I see it. See, this guy really hates Duesal, because he is willing to put energy and effort to make him suffer, but he wouldn't put such much effort as to lose his own prestige because of that (that's a whole other level of hate). I mean, that guy would have lost his job way before, as not paying attention at class is hardly the worse offense he had received until now I guess.

So here our little magpie friend has to find a way to either make ammends, or have another teacher evaluate his exams.

Holy Shit. Does your college have a legal aid department? Because if expulsion is being seriously threatened, this teacher is essentially trying to shitcan a hundred-thousand dollar plus investment on your part. That's definitely time to talk with a lawyer. It sounds like the proffesor's supervisor isn't against you, so thats good at least. Have you been able to contact your deparment head to? Generally they don't like people getting expelled, tends to look bad on their part too. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, but definitely get witnesses (are they willing to sign/notarize statements for you?) and 100% get legal aid.
