And I'm fairly interested in getting more planar rumors, albeit that has to wait for the end of the month to be most interesting it seems.
Anything about the other realities are always a treat to read.
Reaction to our tourney and the Tree by our fellow empires.
Well we already got this from Westeros at least from King's Landing. But, hearing from Slaver's Bay would be good to.
Djinn/Shaitan taking out the Doomship.
Efreeti 1: "I have a name for a type of vessel."
Efreeti 2: "Oh yeah? Lay it on me."
Efreeti 1: "It shall be called the DOOOOMSHIP! So, what do you think?"
Efreeti 2: Sighs and then walks away.
All the other fascinating six stuff.
I am unsure as to what you are referring.
Like that island-dropping action of Djinni mages :V
Colony drops are always delightful aren't they.
We didn't just did the biggest sacrifice in ages, and one of (if not the) biggest OGs ever saw, but also restored one of the most ancient Heart Trees in existence.
I figured as much, but I was unsure if it was a simple level up or something more.

...what gave you an idea I even consider them anywhere near worthy of being called a "fellow empire"? o_O

fixed that already. "Fascinating Ifreeti war stuff".

We have no idea IC/OOC, actually.
Something to ask Bloodraven this month when we'll visit to talk about gods, I suppose...

My apologies, I was only thinking 2 dimensionally instead of 3 dimensionally. I had also forgotten that they had people at our tourney.

Indeed, it is important to know if it is going good or bad for our allies.

Okay I did not know if I missed something.
We gave them about the equivalent of a minor God's worth of power all things considered. 2000HD worth of power. I'd say that they have quite a lot to work with.
Is 2000HD really the equivalent of a minor deity in 3.5?

I may be exaggerating but that is a good question to ask. @DragonParadox was the dawn tree sacrifice packing power comparable to a god and if so which rank?
It's not just HD. While the Old Gods reward us for HD, there's also the CR of the creature in question to take into consideration. That was a lot of metaphysical might being bestowed upon the Old Gods. A mythic sacrifice is no joke.

I'm not sure about it being the power of a god, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised.

Even one Tier-3 Weirwood Heart Tree is a big deal.
I'm not sure how much of a one, though.

basically, this.
Is sacrifice-power a linear or geometrical progression for OGs?
:/

Adding this to this month's uncle-visiting MA:
[X] Meet with your uncle again.
-[X] Gather on the lore of Green Dream and what else the Old Gods' collective can share with you on creation of deity-like systems.
--[X] Additionaly, try to gain a better understanding of just how much power do Old Gods hold, how much of an increase to them is sacrifice, and how particular effects (heart trees grown in unique circumstances like leylines or other planes) affect their pool of power.
-[X] Ask Old Gods about the artifact given to you by the Faceless Man, you have a suspicion it might be counting down to an event they, too, feel coming.
-[X] Ask him if a divine Avatar like Yss' or Bitch-Queen's can be turned into a sort of syphon, permanently seeping off power from the deity.

Interested in the Maiden champions thoughts of the big tree we made and if she'll show up to the Faith meeting. If not then what she doing that keeping her from helping how the Faith see things?

Planning to, but they haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm fairly sure they don't know where to look.
Probably a better state of affairs anyway.

He won't be able to tell them anything positive, what with OGs being far from satiated, and their little party will turn proactive in fighting OGs after such a meeting.

Speaking of sacrifices, when we sarifice the Dreadnought to the Merling King I hope he properly appears this time? Speaking to his daughters is nice, but we want the guy upstairs for a trade deal.

What are we going to ask for anyway?...

I propose asking for a tame baby kraken that we can give to Asha as a mount (It can tow her Submarine!)

Hiiighly unlikely.

I'd love to nab his avatar for SD as well, more than anything I think it needs more divine avatars, but we are unlikely to get that before sacrificing scores of illithids to him...

Or doing that ritual with ruining the Brazen Throne's entire monetary system.
And likely boosting his power a lot through freeing all those would.

while we have a more-or-less appropriate sacrifice, I think we should use it to start on Tiamat-snare.

Right now its Yss, Jazzirian and OGs who are willing to help out, but we haven't asked MK yet.

(Hopefully Weeping Lady and Silver Moon Goddess do agree too.
Timmie is enough of a hazardous waste-dump for even pacifist deities seeing a point in stopping her activities.)

Nor do we have sacrifices for Yss\OGs to empower the trinket yet, but that can wait for a bit, getting an appropriate sacrifice for them is easier.

Hopefully that Advodaza is successfully scried onto with Yss' help (was that 3 out 5 chance to succeed?) and we get to use up its pseudo-divine energy just for that.

Like we have a bar for sacrificing monsters to a tree...would that be considered toxic? Or hateful? Or racist? I am so lost about this.

There's just so much to distort (and admittedly not distort). Though I doubt anyone ever made a joke with intent to hurt, I've made plenty in bad taste. I'm actually nervous enough about the changes that I've been putting the axe to some of the ones around here I can remember, seeing as how in this entire thread's history it's always been new readers thousands upon thousands of pages back rolling across some discussion, long since lost to the ebb of time and forgotten, that has resulted in mod intervention.

With how vague the rules are, l'm pretty sure we could all be infracted or even suspended just based on a little creative interpretation of what constitutes harmful. There's also obviously the out and out explicitly explosive discussions or arguments that people involved in have already gotten over and don't care about.

Granted as far as comments from staff goes, it seems like a bit of on-the-spot judgement will be exercised (oh great, vague rules as defined by different personalities trying to mark down different criteria?)

We're probably fine though. Even new readers have to actually put the effort into trying to read over twelve thousand pages of salt. A lot of the really salty discussion can be found post Braavos, too, and I'm pretty sure most people just throw their hands up in the air by that point and switch to update only.

Or just skip to the end... ugh.

Point for fact, your fixation on numerology was actually relevant and useful in some fashion.

7, 9, 14, 24, 40 and 60 are important numbers in this quest setting, metaphysically (and on a meta level, too). Some of that's just how numbers work and the background, low-level relevance we as humans have placed upon them unconsciously, some of it is ASoIAF setting carry-over, and some of it is D&D related.

It's a good thing Chaos isn't a thing. And that memetic hazards aren't as instantly fatal (though they still exist to a small degree, our first encounter with those being the Dragon Dream).

I'll be honest the reason why I am generally inclined to trust the staff is based very much on personal experience. I have had precisely two interactions with the staff in four and a half years of posting:
  1. One 25 point infraction for talking off topic too long in a quest two years back
  2. Asking @Algalon for help with setting up the dual-GM in Strange Tides. He was very willing to help out.
I'm not really seeing the arbitrary draconian enforcement people are talking about. Maybe it happened in the quest that started all this, I would not know because did not participate but from the sample size of all the threads I have participated over those four years the moderation team seems generally very reasonable.

Fun fact, during my read through of the quest it seemed to me that there was a big salt fest every 1000 pages, almost to the page.

Was I missing something with the Carthage quote in the Mods post btw "Ceterum censeo Mecca esse delendam.", the other quote was obvious in what they were getting at but a Rome v Carthage meme in a Rome quest seemed really inoffensive.
