It is only when they too are gone, and unlikely to be involved in any discussions that others could mark treasonous, that she addresses you again. "Like I said in the letter my House owes you for what you did and we don't like being in debt." Noticing Ser Richard bristle she adds. "It's got nothing to do with the color of your lord's banners Ser, or the damn chair down south. It's about our honor not to leave the scales unbalanced for aid unlooked for. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting Jorah back, but thanks make poor eating as they say. What do you need?"
[X] Plan Northern Diplomacy
-[X] "Then let us speak plainly. What I need is a bulwark against the coming Night, preferably without having to tip-toe around the idiot on said pointy chair and the pride of lions circling the carcass of a realm he 'rules'. Alas, the same honor that bides you to repay this favor makes that impossible." // No need to tip-toe around the topic. She is Jeor Mormonts sister. She is damn well aware what's going on beyond the wall. Also, actually make air-quotes.
-[X] If she asks why we don't just invade already: "The very same reason. Victory needs to come with a minimum of effort and bloodshed to preserve the strength of the realm for what is to come."
-[X] "There is however something you could do for me. At some point, a Braavosi man will come to your shores. He will speak of building an anchorage to build good ships. Whaling vessels going to the frozen waters to the north. He will speak of trade. Timber, furs and whatever else can be found on Bear Isle, traded towards Braavos and beyond. He will pay handsomely for the land and your support in all of this. When this man comes, just celebrate your good fortune and don't look too closely into his background. I can assure you that nothing he will do will be to your detriment or that of your liege lord."

How to do business in Latin America: Just Don't

(Or if you are dishonest and are not afraid to end up in jail/dead, DO)
What a shocking twist!
Yeah, it wasn't surprising, but what was surprising was how bad it turned out to be.

After doing my research I'm just baffled about how anyone gets anything done in Mexico.

Bribes are everywhere and Americans aren't allowed to bribe anyone or we get prosecuted by our government, the cartels are fucking terrifying, etc.

The frustrating thing is we were supposed to find a business opportunity, and everything we find is leading us to "DON'T GO THERE."

There are a few business opportunities:
- sell weapons to the cartels
- establish a undertaker business
- establish a undertaker business that is disposing bodies for the cartels
- establish a undertaker business that is actually a front for a organ harvesting scheme of the cartels

Frankly at this point I am very tempted to include this in my presentation.

Hehehehe.

You still haven't heard about how we work down south, right? It is like that, but with slightly less murders and slightly a fuck ton more of economic instability.

no not really its just there doesn't seem to be much story connections between updates but I think that's a problem with me
The updates follow a linear path. Is it the interludes that are confusing you? We've been having a lot of them this IC month in order to cover Festival events.

The most recent interludes have largely been used to cover the team competition before the close of the Festival.

Economic instability we could work with. It's the risk of getting shot for accidentally crossing a cartel border we're saying no to.
The opportunity is there... To convince your rivals to pursue a business opportunity in Mexico.
... That might work.
Always remember: It can't be illegal if the local law enforcement is your best customer.
I'm more than a little tempted, believe me. There really aren't a lot of options here.

Correction, you're not allowed to get caught bribing anyone.

Or you could just cut out the middle man.

Honestly at this point I'm surprised you didn't add "Selling the rest of the meat as 'low grade pork' to dog food factories."

Maybe I should start putting the wining vote before the updates again, I sort of let that fall off.

Would that help?
If you do that, could you put the spoiler in the "Update in Beta" post rather than the "Vote Closed" post please? The "vote closed" can on occasion be two pages before the chapter itself, and I view this as a "reference" thing, so closer=better imo.

I would find it handy, at least :)

That would be great. Sometimes there are updates closing on "What do you write in this letter?" or "Who do you send to this place?" and then the next update moves on to the next thing Viserys is dealing with while never actually saying what was voted to be in the letter or what minions were sent off. Then if I wasn't following the conversation closely enough the only way to figure out what's happening is to go looking for the winning vote.

YES!!!
Seriously, having the previous vote spoilered at the beginning of each update (so it's in the threadmark) would be amazing. Please do it!
Problem there -- some votes get close to exceeding the character limit for SV posts. Combine them with the updates and you have a persistent issue.

It's better to just have it posted before the update.
