Hmmmm.

Honestly I could still go either way on this. Officially recognize her duties and give her the public respect and co workers?

Or keep her as a thoroughly deniable asset serving us alone...

"deniable asset beyond even the Inquisition"
On the one hand, that's just stupid.
On the other hand, it is sufficiently ominous and dystopian for Malarys to enjoy handling.

More seriously, I am totally against weakening the Inquisition by establishing an Inquisition^2
Maybe if the Inquisition was full of double agents and we didn't have the power to get shit done I would be okay with it. But now? No reason not to have her in the Inquisition. Indeed, it's a good thing to have agents suited for the more immoral work in-house.

Uhhh...Is she still chaotically aligned? While the Inquisition does offer some leeway it still does have a reasonable amount of bureaucratic restrictions.

"Deniable asset" in the sense the inquisition doesn't know about - isn't that a recipe for problems, as sooner or later inquisition agents will stumble over her handywork?

Honestly I have to agree here. While I greatly appreciate DragonParadox's ability to write the alignments and ensure people are people despite or because of it (CN Garin and Dany are definitely different), I can't help but wonder if Azema would want to deal with paperwork, a chain of command, etc. Also again please let me appreciate how this story doesn't reduce CN and CE to random lol evil monkey cheese.

It's not about creating a second inquisition, just having one agent outside it, there is also some concern about her being an alu demon, although considering the fact that you have so many full devils on your roster that is less of an issue comparatively then it once was.

An Inquisitor's job involves enough freedom to keep any chaotic person happy. It's not like she's some measly agent: she'd be a full-fledged Inquisitor, mistress of her fate and guardian of the Empire!

As a Inquisitor, the amount of paperwork isn't that bad. Mostly reports and debriefings. It's the local Inquisition Commissars who have a lot of paperwork to do by virtue of running offices with many workers. The Inquisitors are mostly responsible for their retinue and their current mission and little else.

I'd like to think most people would be more confused by her being here than anything else.

Seeing a demon demon walking around in public without being pounced on by the Inquisition or gaurd would probably pique a great any people's curiosity. Might also alarm the minotaurs, depending on wether they know she's half human or not.

[X] Plan Having Options
-[X] If she wants to remain in that line of work, you see no reason to deny her request. She has the skills for it and if there is one group who should be wholly immune to silly superstitions about her nature, it's the Inquisition.
-[X] That being said, you intend to greatly expand the university of SD in the coming months, among those courses both theoretical and practical for artists of various sorts. Azema is invited to be involved in this as much or as little as shd wants. There too she could find a steady environment and social contacts.

Ultimately, with the Terminus opening and Tieflings becoming a common sight, she isn't that hard to explain away anymore.

I see no reason not to let her join the Inquisition. They're always looking for individuals of proven loyalty and I'm sure everyone will agree that 'withstood the presence of Aedon for significant amounts of time on our orders' is as much a proof of that as anything.

Plus you know, were not at the stage where you need an Inquisition to watch the Inquisition. Not yet anyhow.

Why not both? Official persona and, well, non-official one. She could be black-ops.

That is a weapon of war isn't it? Yi-ti might not take the flying monstrosity kindly.
Actually, it's meant to be far more than that.

It's like the supreme version of the Heralds, whose name are not chosen in vain. The Harbinger is supposed to speak for House Targaryen. It's our eyes, ears and voice, away from home.

Sure, it can murder the everloving shit of a lot of things, especially if it plays smart.

But please, look at the breadth and depth of skills available to both the Heralds and the Harbinger.

This could be a very fine first test for it.

And probably "give face" to the Jade Emperor if we sent that as our envoy.
