So I have a system question. A researcher is better at research actions but a non researcher can also do research...is that correct? It would just be less dice?
You need to be able to do the Research action type in the first place.
Argo the Cunning Bull can't, so he can't take Research actions at all.

If you can take a Research action, you make 2d6 of progress each month. If you also have the trait Researcher, you are instead making 4d6 of progress.

So someone with skills related to a certain field like, say arcana, can work on making magical inventions but someone without said skill can't. Am I getting that right?

You can ignore the swamps and bogs of Draconys at 8th though and doesn't he have CL 9 and could boost his CL in some fashion?
Only 8 normally.

He can, by killing a creaure with half or more of his HD (and also absorbing enough life/magic to make it useless for crafting in the process) raise his CL by 2.
Not sure if that's worth it for travelling. Better git gud and get Teleport next level.

Also, @DragonParadox, unless we land Aemon in the eastern parts of the province, reaching Mantarys and Volantis is roughly equally difficult. From most areas it's even simpler to reach Volantis, as you can ride the Shadow Stead over the ocean.

Hmm, you are right. He would definitely try to take lands closer to the blasted hellscape of Valyria because that is where all the monsters and loot are.

How many? I want a breeding population.

He can spare up to 16 if you have a good enough exchange for it.

It would be smarter for him to get Boots of the Wide Earth, since that leaves his spell known available for something else.

Did I ever mention how much I love this chap?

@Artemis1992, what will it take for him to set up a course in the Scholarium to make a lot more people like him?
I guess he might say that you don't "make" people like him, it takes generations of good breeding and decades of study to become what he is.

Edit: though he is a lot less convinced of that since seeing Lya

But if you just mean the class, that's propably something reasonably common in Valyria and can be tought as well as regular wizardry or crafting.

@DragonParadox, according to your earlier posts, Vee figured out the installation of armor mesh Varys had under his skin, but we never got any concrete numbers on it since.

It has no ASF and offers as much protection as a breastplate (+5) as natural armor.
No, nut Vee figured it out the installation as she was cutting it out of him.
How much does it cost to make, again? What's the installation process?

ASF 0% and +5 natural armor is kinda crazy good, but we have very good capabilities for growing biological and pseudo-biological things ourselves too now.

@DragonParadox any update regarding the Landwarden of Lys? Is he still sleeping within the Old God collective or has it begun to stir?

Also what about the research outpost in Lyceos? Did they make any discoveries about the affliction affecting the local survivors?

Hm...

How about we take a few stray hairs of Balerion the Destroyer, throw them in the Fungus Forge, and then make Advanced, Plant Imbued, Shadow Creature Cats for the Inquisition?

  1. It costs 40 lb of mithril and either a master craftsmen and some very hard craft checks... or fabricate and buffs
  2. Installing it is free though you need pretty good healer with access to magic

I have not rolled for it yet I'll cover it in the morning,
