I'm very suspicious it's Burny. Even with Melisandre with us Selyse still gets converted by a Red Priest that was conveniently in Dragonstone?
Could just be a odd happenstance. Dragonstone is not exactly a trading port, but a center of power in Blackwater Bay and between our status as potential messiah and the closeness to Essos, it's likely to draw an enterprising priest or two to preach there.

Rumours of Us work in Dragonstone's favour too, there has to have been local whispers of our less than murderous relationship with Stannis so I imagine they are seen as significantly more East-friendly than KL etc due to trader talk.

For the right kind of Rhllorite like he seems to be that same non-murderous relationship with their Messiah makes it a beachhead to the West, which makes it attractive in certain ways SD is not, it's too secure.

Huh, Selyse and friends still converted to Rhllorism despite Melisandre not being present. Looks like Shireen is having the Dragon dreams, probably stirred on by living on Dragonstone.

@DragonParadox - how widespread is the Red Faith on the island? Has Tygett Lannister done anything about it? I'd have trouble believing he'd be fine with a bunch of people worshiping us as Crystal Dragon Jesus, although I can totally see the population taking that up.

There are a lot of Lannisters with sense, maybe he's one of them and realises just how difficult prohibition is to get right and not have it backfire into the opposite effect.

We can bump Viserys' caster level up to 23 using the Harmonic Chorus + Moment of Greatness combo.

Added our collection of Roberts bastards to the questioning.

On the matter of Targ blood thinning, I would also like to point out that Duncan the Small, son of Aegon V and Betha Blackwood, had black hair, while Rhaenys Targaryen looks just as Dornish as her mother Elia.
So something is definitely happening there.

Perhaps a sympathetic relationship with Dragons, more than servile beasts they were our anchor to our own nature and that would explain the Citdal (hiss ) 's conspiracy to murder them.

So we are going to check on Shireen at a later time? She's like one of if not the most innocent person on the planet.

  1. It seems to be steadily gaining ground
  2. He sent a letter to the High Septon asking for more septons and donated quite a bit of gold to showing apostates the light but he has stopped short of persecution.

Maybe there is some magical effect that keeps Targ blood stronger then it has any right to be and in the days of waning magic, the spellwork instinctively leeched some power from the dragons.

Might also explain why Maegors kids were malformed mutants. He might have meddled with something to strengthen his own blood and failed.

The implied cause for Maegor's mutant stillborn babies is that his Sorceress lover was sabotaging them.

Though given DP likes mixing things up, it could be that both are true, except they were both planning on making his blood stronger, but she bungled it intentionally.

Though I doubt it, if he tasked her to do something and it didn't work he'd had killed her much sooner.

1. Well. Duh. The people of Dragonstone used to revere the Targs as demi-gods, so of course the preacher proclaiming the last mainline Targ king the messiah has it easy.
2. And this is why I like Stannis. He is so practical and not prone to overreactions.

Speaking of Dragons, @DragonParadox, we handed out a bunch of eggs months ago. Any progress by any of the recipients?

I've been looking into your notes about that and I'd like to raise two points.

A, the Targaryens are the last of the dragonlords. That kind of potency isn't something that's easily diluted and is probably as symbolic as genetic. B, they've been marrying into houses like the Blackwoods, the Daynes, and the Martells, which clearly have magical power of their own in their blood, so the 'dilution' of the blood is questionable. The Targs weren't just marrying random muggles.

Also, the Baratheons probably have a special status, much more than I'd exact out the Martells. They have a much closer symbolic and genetic relation to the Targaryens, I'm not at all surprised living on Dragonstone caused the Dragon Dreams to spark within Shireen.

Speaking of dragons, we have the bones of prior Targaryen dragons that have yet to be raised. We need to find time for that.

A) I'm not saying that the blood is diluted into uselessness. I'm just saying common wisdom dictates it should. That the Targs still show predominantly a Valyrian phenotype despite their genotype making them more Andal-Dornish does not imply my charts are wrong, just that there is more going on. The chart is clear evidence of a magical component to it all.

B) The Blackwoods have likely Fey or Plant as the source of their power and the Martells either Water elemental or Fey from their Rhoynish side. No idea on the Daynes. So yes, their blood is magically potent, but the Dragon ancestry was diluted none the less.

The Baratheons are indeed an odd case, though there remains the question of Orrys Baratheons lineage. He is the only Targ bastard without Valyrian phenotype in that era, so it's kinda... weird...

There's a really odd pattern I've seen when looking at Targaryens.

If a full Valyrian-looking Targaryen marries a non-Targaryen, the firstborn gets the coloring of the non-Targaryen parent, and after that they produce Valyrian-looking children.

EDIT: If Jon Snow had a younger brother or sister, I imagine they would have had Valyrian coloring. Same for if Elia ever had any more children with Rhaegar.
