And by the way, Ferrego being an institutionalist?

My man!

Of course in D&D he's wrong. Long-term institutions are critical, but in the short and medium-term "exceptional individuals" like Viserys or his Companions are what matters. Forget geopolitics: a strike team of lv20 PCs with good gear can and will win most wars before they're even fought.
And that's why I kept pushing for Scry and Die all the time until I figured out that people were against it for both Doylist and Watsonian reasons.

I really hoped someone would try a Scorching Ray.

So shivering touch is massively broken. News at 11 I guess, but still!

Did you just ruin this whole interlude's introspective vein by making the Inquisitor lose?
I was actually just about to point the same thing.
taking place some five-hundred leagues away in Sorcerer's Deep
I thought we were much farther away?
Syrio snorted. "I'm too old to learn this shit."
@DragonParadox I think you broke character for Syrio here, he always struck me as refined, or at least verbose.

OOC: The Sealord does not much believe in messianic figures—he is an institutionalist—so seeing an Inquisitor fight so skillfully goes a long way to adding to the sense that the empire is something solid and long lasting. Also about the fight... Mia was at precisely 1 HP throughout practically all of it after taking an Empowered Acid Spit to the face (Kerad has feats that let him cast that as lvl 3) and only making her save thanks to Alter Fortune. She then tried Great Thunderclap but only managed to deafen him and had to spend another Alter Fortune to make sure he could not cast his spell. So sickened by repeated Alter Fortune uses and still at 1 HP she decided to charge and Shivering Touch. That finally won her the fight.

"Mia is unlikely to reach Level 10."

RIGHT.

How is that not protagonist material!?

What does +1 (SP) in save DC stands for? Spellcasting Prodigy? If so, then is Spellcasting Prodigy granting +1 save DC some kind of thread home rule? Because it doesn't usually do that, since it only allows you to treat your stat 2 higher for the purposes of calculating number of bonus spellslots, not for everything.

I really missread that.

I think I'm not the only one.
I remember taking that from some other character?

I think I may have accidentally house-ruled that into existence.

Nothing to see here...

I was really hoping to see Mia drop an Invisible Summon Monster III on her opponent. :(

Oh well, still great to see her move on to the next round!

Ah, I thought this had been discussed long, long ago?

It's been like that for so long, since before I came back to the quest over two years ago, that I just assumed we were deliberately using 3.0 Spellcasting Prodigy.
