I legitimately thought that Snowfire's avatar was the Simurgh, from Worm. It took me ages to understand that the dog memes were about them - and then I was shocked when they said their avatar was a sword !

Hey! The Elder Scroll's lore has Restoration as a magic school that deals with healing, draining, absorbing, fortifying, and damaging attributes.

Baurus, the guy on my profile picture, knows a few spells from it and I wouldnt call him a 'sexy necromancer'.

Plenty badass though!
Does it handle undead ? No ? Then it's just a new flavor of buffing/debuffing, not necromancy.

Speaking of insulting names that aren't really that insulting, does anyone think that "Blood Dragon" is a little too awesome sounding to be something Septons came up with???

1. Get the Pleasure Devil that enthralled Garth the Gross, proceed to diplomance him and sneak our way into the Conclave of the Faith at Highgarden.
"No, it stops at the lord and his heir," Bloodraven answers. "Others may know of treachery and unexpected wealth, but they have sworn no pacts with Hell. Garth Tyrell, called Garth the Gross, does know of the dark pacts and foul magics, but he is in no position to do give warning, for he is in the thrall of a Brachina posing as his latest mistress."

"Garth the Gross... that would be the Lord Seneschal of Highgarden, then?" Dany asks. At your surprised looks she explains: "Mother has been helping me learn the names and places of all the great lords and ladies."
2. Send Yrael to very publicly rescue Septon Dondar of Weeping Town and release him, thus make it so Lucan isn't the only one throwing around angels in Westeros. (Also possibly see if you can get any of Lucan's angels to defect)
Thunderous Faith: Septon Dondar of Weeping Town, a man of much spirit known for preaching in the less affluent parts of the town, had been arrested by the local armsmen for spreading what is starting to be called the 'Particularist Heresy' by the clergy in King's Landing, for its emphasis on the personal responsibility of each septon to lead their congregation and for each man or woman to choose their septon. So far Dondar's followers have only been responsible for sporadic attacks on the armsmen of House Whitehead, though many fear it might escalate to rioting if the renegade septon is killed.
3. Investigate the dealings of the Smith and the Crone in the Vale, especially with them apparently manufacturing Dragonbane weapons (though those would come in handy against Tiamat...)
"I might almost pity him were it not for all the harm he has done," she snorts. "What can you tell us of the Champions of the Smith and the Crone?"

"The first is a boy and uncertain of his path where he does not hold a hammer in hand before the forge," the Last Greenseer replies. "He forges 'holy arms' for the renegade lords, many of them supposedly with the virtue to slay a dragon, and from what I have glimpsed of them they will indeed cut deeper than common steel, but nowhere near enough to prove a threat to you and yours, Your Grace, even if the knights were to be suddenly be given wings. The Crone's champion is an old Woods Witch granted a vision as she lay dying, given the choice to serve rather than perish. Be wary, for she welds magic and miracles both and is all the more crafty for it..."
4. Clean up the Devil Cultists in Westeros, help the Royces get back their ancestral Valyrian Steel Sword, continue nudging Lord Grafton to get ready to sacrifice Corbray to the Old Gods.
Dany clears her throat, breaking the uneasy silence. "Can you tell us the precise names and composition of each diabolic cabal Varys knows of, the manner they are organized, and the names of any fiends who might be in contact with him?"

Such a lovely ice-breaker, you think, the slightest bit bemused by the sudden sense of how far you had come, from the day when the mere mention of fiends would turn your stomach with fear.

Thus you learn that in addition to the Brachina acting in the Reach under the guard of a pair of Bone Devils, the Vale cabal, which includes the Corbrays, is headed by a Gilded Devil which has sacrificed many of the usual powers of his kind for the skill to mimic divine miracles, playing a part not unlike the mask of Dywen you donned before Lord Grafton. What is of greatest note for this fiend is the possession of Lamentation, the ancestral blade of House Royce which now lies in the desecrated barrow some three miles south of Heart's Home. No doubt Waymar will be eager to reclaim the sword as well as put paid the fiends who stole it.

"What about the names?" Dany prompts. "It would probably be better to just summon the fiends away and leave the mortals without allies to be swept up either by us or the local lords."

"In the interest of sparing my tongue the contortions needed to utter those names..." Bloodraven tilts his head slightly towards the glided calligraphy wyrm who claims of a sheet of parchment from the stack you had brought and starts writing quickly at the sorcerer's silent command.

Gained List of Devil names operating in Westeros
5. Get started on seeding the Reach and Dorne with Inquisition agents.
Finally then you come to the matter of the Inquisition. In addition to offering the fledgling outposts' aid you also ask Bloodraven for suggestions on where to place future outposts, laying out your initial thoughts and their reasoning: Darry for its friendly lord and major crossroad, Oldtown for its importance both arcane and mundane, White Harbor for being the part of the North most open to the world, the Dornish Marches as a crossroad of three kingdoms, and finally Runestone, as much to serve as a shield for the House as to be your eyes and ears in the Vale.

"I can certainly see why Oldtown might be tempting. However, there are many powers vying for dominance there and already an abundance of spies," he cautions. "You might wish to allow your agents to have their first foray into the Reach be in a safer city, like say the Arbor, then with the use of local contacts move into Oldtown."

You nod along, seeing the logic behind his words.

"For the Dornish Marches you might be better served subverting one of the trader families which crisscross the area," he finishes. "The lack of large cities and centuries of mistrust would make setting up shop in any of the towns in the area troublesome."
6. Clean up all of Varys' and Illyrio's known agents in Essos, and especially collaborate with the Sealord to ensure that Pentos is fully secured when the time comes.
Of perhaps even greater concern is a similar plot to incite bloody rebellion in Pentos on the eve of the Braavosi attack, with mobs of freemen primed to burn down the harbor including the holdings of many Braavosi merchant houses as an opening move, thus making it untenable for the Sealord to negotiate with the rebels, turning Braavos and you from liberators into seeming oppressors. He was seemingly quite taken with that particular plot as it would resonate well with the dark rumors the Lannisters were spreading about you in Westeros. At least there are no devils in Pentos, instead using Illyrio's old contacts.

Apart from that Varys had vaguely planned to overthrow the current lords of Lorath and Qohor, but his spies and agitators had been slow to recruit in the former city and sent into utter disarray by the religious conflicts in Qohor. Having finished drawing the map Bloodraven's assistant dutifully jots down the name of every agent of note throughout the east before moving on to the informants. Many of the people mentioned there will doubtlessly find themselves scrutinized by the Inquisition in the fullness of time. Some might even be cultivated as sources. Varys was certainly skilled at his craft, that much even you must admit while cursing the man's name.
7. Get in contact with the rebel Yi Tish general Varys planned to assassinate.
Where plots are concerned perhaps the most surprising discovery is that the three devils you had called from the court of the Azure Emperor had not been under Varys's control, indeed he had known nothing of them. Mammon it seems is no slower than Tiamat in making moves against a treacherous servant.

"Our enemies' spies seem to be rather thin on the ground east of the Bone Mountains," Dany muses. "I do not think either Illyrio or Varys were expecting to fight that far east."

"The Spider planned to absent himself from the Red Keep for most of next month," Bloodraven agrees. "It is in his mind that he could simply assassinate the rebel Yi Tish general to soften the enemy and hand the Golden Company an easy triumph and a smooth path to Yin."

As far as I can tell these, in addition to Molten Skies infiltration which @Goldfish has been scheming for, are the things that'll be eating up our time next month.

I'm keeping careful count, you know. Of all those for whom there shall be a reckoning.

Seriously though, just click on the picture to get a better view of it, and if your eyes are actually functional it should be fucking obvious.

This prompted me to finally read the lengthy article on Aegon the Unworthy.

This here made me stop again:

God. Dammit. Westeros.

Hahaha ayup. This is why even the least generous possible interpretation of Rhaegar and his actions still ranks rather low on my list of "Worst Targs EVER."

I still think it's a toss up between Aegon "let me intentionally inflame regional tensions with MUH DICK," IV and Aerys "burn them all!" II. Like at least the latter kinda had some other goals in mind than just being a petty dick. Sure thinking that burning a city of a million+ will make you a dragon is bonkers, but it at least technically shows more forethought than the petty shit Aegon IV did.

Honestly Snowfire, I preferred it when it was a dog to me. Still try to look it that way. Its the head of a big and pretty badass Skye Terrier with heavy metal chops.

I think your... Ahem episodes when called that may have made the 'problem' worse though. Its quite hilarious when you go all ballistic about it, and that just further spreads the meme!

Hm...

I was just reading up on Harrenhal to plan how to use it during the Invasion.

Turns out, Harren the Black decided to use some good old human blood in the mortar.

So, yeah. That place is hyper-cursed.

Sounds like a great place to send some magelings to level up.

And also a great Legion base.

If it is the nice sort of curse, that sends restless ghosts after everyone daring to stay, sure.

But if it's something not good for training, like "every roll in here critfails dramatically on a one or two", then no, we don't want anything to do with it.
Unless we can sacrifice a castle?

I like the idea, but we should use someone other than Yrael. He's rather publicly connected with us, after all. We should summon some of our own celestials and see if we can work with them.

You just exorcise the spirits?

I'm pretty sure we can sacrifice a castle. If there was a way to sacrifice a cave had we deemed it suitable, we can definitely sacrifice a castle.

Any of Yrael's subordinates would do as well.

We should be prepared for more angels guarding this Septon, though. That said, I'm excited to see if we can get any of them to defect.
