That does sound workable, though I would also keep the hardness and thickness of the ship's bulkheads in mind too, since for instance someone might trick to crack the deck in order to end in a boarding party into the innards of the ship.
Obviously. I'm keeping track of that in the designer, so I will include it in the write-up.

Though I've included a few nice things that ensure standing on the upper hull is far from pleasant. :drevil:

@DragonParadox
Who among our companions will participate?
Or Wylla or Taena maybe?

I'm afraid if Siduri only faces our level 3-6 no-name mages or even the level 7-8 named mages like Horio, Sarah or Velen she'll have an effortless win. That's not much fun for anyone.

Wyla vs Siduri would be super interesting.

On a side note, Alysande should be participating as well. She's here with Uthero the Only.

Would be fun if Viserys partook in the team event - one Viserys versus 4 mages ...
Actually, this would be fun. We just have to find a way to make it remotely fair for the mages. Viserys is a... I don't even know what CR he is. He's literally a Mythic challenge, a level 17 Sorcerer Adult Red Dragon armed to the teeth with magic items.

No, what I dubbed "Steam Projectors". Which is basically a water thrower, except the water is over 400°C when it leaves the nozzle. Also, Launcher turrets shooting ballista bolts and alchemical funsies at you.
Interesting question - what effect has 400°C water on fire elementals?

Of course it would be a special event with the 4 winners of the tournament.
And yes. It wouldn't be subtle.

Wyla is thinking of participating, but none of the companions since they don't really need the prize or the cheers. Teana will be in the jury guaranteeing the fairness of the competition so she can't participate obviously.

Then we really need to think of someone we can put in there.
Wouldn't do if none of the Sorcerer King's Sorcerers can give a good performance.

Would probably be better if Lya took that role so that Teana can show her chops.

As for Viserys participating... I think you could call every contestant into the arena for that and it would still be a curb-stomp. Siduri is the only one so far whom I'd suspect to survive the opening salvo.

Having Teana be able to show her claws would be great. I'm all for having Lya do the judging if she's available.

No idea. Rules wise, they deal half bludgeoning and half fire damage, but no idea how a fire elemental will react to a very fast jet of water going through his body. Probably poorly.

I would say they take no fire damage but 50% more bludgeoning damage since it is water.

Will Alysande be competing or is she just enjoying the festival?

She is enjoying the festival

You could do it like that sure.

... Grand Melee? Viserys versus the 1st, 2nd, 3rd of all contests?

Just a minor hint to all witnesses what 'dragon king' means. Not because showing off is such an ego-stroking thing.

Because the issue isn't constrained to fighter craft.

Tell me, how do you resolve a dragon fighting a ship? No, not the PCs on deck, but the actual ship.

Pathfinder has a pretty simple ruleset for naval/vehicle combat that they had to make, if I recall correctly. Sure, it doesn't model everything perfectly, but nothing will.

A Gathering of Wargs and Witches: Lord Eddard Stark is the latest high lord to petition the crown for permission to train their own sorcerers. Cunning men and hedge witches from the Mountain Clans and the Neck are said to have already begin to make their way to Winterfell as few doubt the king will not grant the request, even with the current tensions.

Come on Robert pull through. Say no. Let lord stark come to our side.
The Miracle of Crakehall: Angels descended upon Crakehall to slay the foul spawn of the depths which had taken root unseen among its people, and in their midst stood the Father's own Champion with his band of miracle workers. Yet even such wonder was darkened by the sins of a fallen world. A thief in a maester's grey garb stole tomes of great worth from Lucan's keeping while he conversed with Lord Roland Crakehall, some say even tempting away one of his followers to foul apostasy.
This bitch needs to die. I swear to god I'm starting to think it's time to have angels fall.

Mass Turtle Beam. Imperious Glare, trigger Frightful Presence.

Laugh at puny B party cast.
Best 2 of 3. Last one is with Viserys not using a spell>3.

No, seriously, given that some serious Westerosi will likely be part of that - that should, well, give them a 1st person perspective what it will mean fighting the dragon.

See the whole "AC 0, 100,000 HP" thingy. The Moonchaser is just too large to model it as a creature like Pathfinder does.

It might work decently for fighters, though they might end up with ridiculous HP.

The only way to effectively model it with some realism that I can think of would be Battletech lite, which was designed around vehicle combat instead of personal. But I am not subjecting DP to that.
