It wouldn't be that bad. With what we've discussed of succession laws, inheritances getting doled out as normal upon reincarnation would mean that Walder's current Heir, Stevron would inherit the Twins, while Walder... Walder gets a new body, recognizable different from his old one whether we used Cyclic Reincarnation or not.

Coincidentally, one could argue this would void your current marriage, as your "predecessor" is now 'legally dead'.

:V

Don't thank us too profusely, Walder Black.

@DragonParadox just thought you'd find the above amusing.

It is not the problem that he gets his fortune back or not.

It is that he will attempt to fuck another army into existence. Again.

If we ever accept to reincarnate the guy I wanna place a Greater Infertility Curse on him. Because otherwise a hundred years from now everybody will have a bit of Frey blood on them. *Shudders*

...they don't already?

The man has been in the game a long time. Over eighty years.

I think he's ahead of you.

I think we should limit our Frey acquisition, y'all. I don't care if they're loyal now or not, that's too many related mages to bring into the Scholarium so close together. Together, they could end up forming a disproportionately influential power bloc within the Scholarium, SD's magical community, and possibly even the Imperium.

If y'all insist on taking them all, at least split them up between various Scholarium branches. We'll be opening several of them soon.

Sorcerer's Deep, Lys, Myr, Tyrosh, Naath, Tolos, and Mantarys. I believe those are the areas with established branches. Plenty of places to split them up amongst.

@DragonParadox, seeing as we still have actions we had no sight of completing, and a ton of minor actions, all on top of the festival?
And, what, mere 10 days left till the end of the month?

I'd highly appreciate you churning out interludes like there is no tomorrow.

Like Fungal Pods.
Or Teana talking with Queen Rhaella (the driad)
or seeing how Shara is doing in finding her ancestral sword.
Or getting a bunch of items we are due from Silver Eye.

You know, the things we don't even need Viserys' IC look into, but need a note on ending.

that, or you just drop all minor actions to one-liners when we reach the end of the month.

G'night.

They deserve better than one liners.

I'd do the Shara one but she is at the festival currently not looking for the sword.

Influence is universal. If they wait until a branch opens up closer, and go to that one, they won't have contacts in SD, but they could venture there and piggyback off the ones their other relatives made.

If you're a Mage in the Imperium, you're a part of the Scholarum. I'd rather not contrive reasons to keep people from directing their ambition into state-run and overseen institutions. They could turn it towards other directions.

I basically mean Fiends, yes. And other ilk.

Only Tyrosh has a finished branch. Naath isn't finished yet, and nor is Mantarys even, and it had a headstart on nearly everyone.

Everyone else hasn't even begun the action yet.

I will fight for them getting one-liners if I have to }:C

I'd rather have that, and ask questions OOC, than eat into the next month/lengthen the last few days of this one to unreasonable amounts.

Just...

Ah, whatever.
I probably shouldn't feel so responsible for these things others asked me to add to the list only because I keep it relatively orderly :/

I understand. I'll see into getting interludes to pull double duty.

I'm ... not really sure where you're coming with this. The Freys are gonna have a fair amount of influence, yes, but I thought that was something you came to terms with when we decided to ally with them instead of sending Black Walder packing. Taking a bunch of the younger and better ones gets us a chance to mold their loyalty to the Imperium instead of strictly their family.

Because enrolling that many of them in the Scholarium together is just begging for a clique to form around them, which may not necessarily turn out to be a bad thing, but has an all too likely chance of turning the developing academic culture of the Scholarium into a toxic mess of entitled nobles lording their supposedly superior status over common born Initiates.

If the Scholarium is going to have Slytherins, I want them to develop naturally, not because we planted them there.

I would say the same thing if we were admitting a dozen members of any other family of Westerosi nobility.

@Goldfish fair enough, would it help that we likely cannot bring them over just yet? That's enough time to get more institutions set up to split them off into.

Yes. We have two now, with the Tyrosh branch opening next month. The others should be opening soon after that, with most if not all ready by the time we're ready to bring the Freys. I don't mind teaching them all, but I would prefer that they not all be concentrated in a single location.

@Goldfish, @Azel @LonelyWolf999 I want Perwyn as an aide for Ser Gerold, and Olyvar as our batman/assistant. We need to think into te future here, eventually Alinor will need to go to her lands and cannot maintain status as our Steward.

Relax. The place will be full of Essosi anyway: they can't possibly become a dominant faction. And our headmistress can (and will) handle it. She certainly doesn't sympathise with entitled nobles :D

To be fair to Goldfish, while I agree with you, these are Freys we're talking about here.

Cut throat internal politics aren't just an inclination for them, they're a matter of survival.

@Goldfish is very right in pointing out what he did, and I agree. Lets stagger their entrances and put them in different branches.
Not in any acceptable format.
It's long and bad to copy.
I can try for the mechanics at least:
Creating a Dragon Vassal"Dragon vassal" is a template that can be added to any giant, humanoid, or monstrous humanoid (referred to hereafter as the "base creature").
A dragon vassal uses all the base creature's statistics and special abilities except as noted here.Size and Type Size remains unchanged. The creature's type changes to monstrous humanoid (augmented giant/humanoid, if necessary). Vassals with 5+ HD also gain the same elemental subtype as their Dragon Overlord.

Hit Dice Increase racial hit dice by one die type, to a maximum of d12. Hit dice from class levels remain unchanged.

AC Natural armor improves by +2.

Special Qualities Dragon vassals retain the abilities of the base character, plus the following special qualities:
Darkvision (Ex) Dragon vassals gain darkvision 60 feet.
Fast Healing (Su) Dragon vassals have a fast healing of 5.

Saves Dragon vassals gain a +2 racial bonus to all saving throws.

Abilities Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +8, Dex +4, Con +6.

Skills Dragon vassals have incredibly sharp senses, granting them a +6 racial bonus to Listen, Search, and Spot checks.

Feats Same as the base creature.Climate/Terrain Same as the base creature or the dragon variety.

Organization Same as the base creature.

Challenge Rating Same as the base creature +1.

Treasure Same as the base creature.Alignment Same as the dragon variety (Any).

Advancement By character class

.Level Adjustment +2.
Now that's very, very nice.

I'm totally down for researching this.
Also keep in mind that grafted stuff can't be regrown, so taking a bunch of scales from Viserys will result in baldness.
I don't think this is a graft in that sense.
