You know, between the work in the flesh-forges and the new ideas about power armor, a thought does occur...

Are we taking the entirety of House Darry as guests, or just the ones who want to compete in the joust?
Why do we have to limit ourselves? We can come back as many times as we need to and get everyone.A party, presumably limited to the number you can fit into a Greater Teleport spell.

This isn't a question of spell limitation, it's about who we actually want to bring.
I'm probably off base here...really, really off base...but how far back in time has Viserys traveled? Millions of years? And here is the other half of the equation, with Viserys applying himself quite heavily to the task at hand. I've done my best to apply his knowledge and other skills, as well as his basic Int score, and I hope that's coming through. Viserys at this point is cribbing Lya's experimental method: interview, experiment, divination, more experiments. Research has never been his forte, and in this I'm not talking ability, but temperament. Still, he's made progress, and the combination of Lya's experimental method with his own advantages in this world has paid dividends. He's not there yet, but he's come further much faster than Harry would think possible.
I'm not completely happy with this chapter as there's a lot of…what just feels like infodump. But there's also a limit to what I can really do about that, with a basic lack of anyone Viserys can talk to about this – Harry and Molly are out because of their Mantles. Dark Sister and Varys are there, and they help, but neither are in the same space as Viserys academically. So he's doing a lot of internal thought, and writing a lot of notes. And when he gets distracted, he talks with Naomi or trains. It's not entirely healthy, but it's functional.
I've also probably made a bunch of tense errors in the writing of this. I hope you'll forgive me those.

For these purposes we may as well have unlimited spellslots. We have Versatile Spellcaster, and at the end of the day there aren't that many Darrys to begin with. We could probably accomodate all of them if we wanted to with little issue.Last I checked we do not have unlimited spell slots. To be quite honest though, I don't really mind how many. I'm expecting a small party, 2-5 at most, but if more want to come and it's felt to be possible without making things obvious then the limitation is the number of Ribbons of Disguise we have.

Point on the Ribbons of Disguise, I don't know how many free ones we have.
So far off base that I looped around the solar system and landed right on target?Super off-base. Like, the base is in another solar system
Interesting idea, though.
Taking them back is not an issue. It'll be more than a few days later given the length of this tourney, and Viserys can teleport them back with fully replenished spell slots.Basically, if we have enough Ribbons of Disguise for them and it wouldn't be a problem for the entire House to vanish, then sure, we take all of them. As it would be a problem for that to happen, I'm not expecting the entire House. Just some of it. Though do remember that we need to take them back again, too.
It's not only impractical to try to bring the whole household, it's suspicious and logistically more complicated than it is worth. Just because we can do something doesn't always mean we should. For these purposes we may as well have unlimited spellslots. This is interesting. Specially the thought that the Outer Gates might actually be a prison meant to safeguard the innocent denizens of the Far Realm from the great threat within, which is kind of funny and actually explains why the Elder Brain would chuck Viserys in there. You can only imagine how much power the Elder Brain must have committed to punch you through into this reality, unless it was easier to enter from the outside then escape from within. One might bode ill for a quick rescue, but the other…makes you wonder and fear at what the barrier might be holding in.

As bad as the Far Realm, Abyss, Abaddon, and the Pit are, no one in the greater cosmos wants to deal with the clusterfuck that is the NeverNever. This is interesting. I was also surprised by the fact Viserys decided to abandon any potentially complicated plans and went for just building a better mindblank, but I guess it is much more workable.
