Oh to be clear, I'm not advocating for Azel to be removed. I'm just pointing out that him taking a step back for a minute does (apparently) open up the discussion for other people to try their hand which I think? He agrees with.

Anyway definitely not advocating for anyone to leave, just pointing out that this argument had given some other people time to shine.

Also, you know, sleep.
That time Azel "stepped back" was something like 2AM+ in his timzeone :D

Yeah, just today I clicked "next page" and saw there were somehow zero posts on it (messed up the formatting, actually).
So I logged out and searched the thread for their username (firefrog something?). They have indeed been back!
But they've been back with more horribly spelled troll questions showing they don't even follow the quest, so... On my block list they stay!

:D
I'd go full Dreaming of Sunshine on this mess. Retell the story - but with actual character development! Slow-build plotlines throughout the action! Female characters being relevant! No more fanservice! Worldbuilding relevance and in-setting social and economic issues! All this without getting rid of action OR most filler!

Oh, and like Silver Queen I'd straight-up decide "this is the final boss I'm sticking with" and wouldn't escalate past them. Maybe Frieza?

And hell, it's not like I could make the dialogue any weirder. As long as I get to keep the animation crew (they're not bad, considering the era) I'm sure I could produce something worth watching. Maybe not something as famous as IRL Dragon Ball, but it'd be something!

EDIT: I don't actually want to spend years of my life working on an anime. I have other plans!
And I like being part of society, thank you very much :p
If there's a ROB, please stay away!

I'd recommend wrapping up at the Cell Saga. Its a good ending for Goku.

@chryssalideater:
To be clear: your inferiority complex isn't a reason to kick Azel out of a fun activity he enjoys. Well, when he isn't getting into Alignment debates at least.
I would appreciate if you don't shoot at people on my behalf. I think I've made it amply clear that I can do that myself. :V
Worst case, just block him (and discover that everything suddenly becomes incomprehensible :D ).
Speaking from experience there?

You know, I once had a conversation with a priest when I was twelve. He was talking about morality, and how you needed to have strict rules you shouldn't cross no matter what. Me, being the smart-ass that I was, immediately began to list off a bunch of exceptions and scenarios in which they wouldn't be proper or make much sense.

He told me that doing the right and wrong thing was never obvious when it really mattered. That there'd always be a dozen different factors making the decision murky, and that if you tried to treat such rules and scenarios like mathematical equations to applied when and where you judge appropriate, you may as well not have a code of ethics at all.

At the time I didn't agree with that. Now, I think I understand a little more where he was coming from.

Evil begins when you treat people as things.

A code of ethics is more about preventing you from becoming a monstrous threat to the world around you, not keeping the world from becoming monstrous.

Alright.

We can't loot the place of all valuables like I wanted because we're trying to get spies in the Red Keep after all this... @DragonParadox, if we took a piece of dragon bone from every single dragon skeleton, would that go unnoticed? And could we also try to go around collecting the hairs of everyone in court?

Well, thing about dragon skeletons, they are probably a lot of fucking bones. And they were moved out of the way specifically because the current owners don't care for them or want to even look at them.

So I would say that answers some questions here.

Viserys isn't sure. Robert certainly would not care, but a suspicious Lannister mage might notice if they have an eye on those skeletons.

Uh, that's almost certainly more than a little impractical.
Also pointless since 90% of everyone in court is irrelevant. There's a dozen people we would care about that much, and those would be the ones whose hair is hardest to collect.
Context, guys. By "court" I was referring to everyone who matters whose hair we could reasonably get access to. I don't want to jump hoops over this, but getting that hair is a major strategic advantage when it comes to scrying. Why would I care about the irrelevant courtiers?

Could we cast an Augury to determine how safe it is to take a small bit of bone from every dragon skeleton?

No, actually.

Anyway, I've had these quotes in my "reply" box all night. Time to reply!

Crake can do a decent job there. For economics, try TNE, Tomcost and Talon. Preferably all three of them, because TNE veers towards Neo-Liberalism and Talon towards Socialism (the actual stuff, not the right-wing pundit version of it).
Let's be fair: none of us would have bothered to write out actual tax plans. We'd just have resorted to abstraction.
Without you, this quest would not have it's it's current (great!) "Shithole country economy simulator"!

Edit: How would you describe your own economic position?

[Several quotes removed now that the argument has died down]

Cooperate with him under the false pretence of representing a anti-Viserys faction from Slavers Bay that is looking for influence in Westeros. See where to go from there. Preferably sabotage the finances of Robert and Tywin by creative schemes.

Bug TNE and Tomcost on ideas how to really tank a government's coffers.
You are overcomplicating things. No need to manufacture an even worse economic crisis.
That's your kind of plan.
No, without you around I would start pushing my kind of economic warfare plans: theft. Less evil, less time-consuming, less annoying to think through. Straight-up steal their tax revenue (Dalla gets it! Yay for high Wis! Forget overcomplicated plans!), sabotage their most expensive possessions (castles? Cash crop fields?), and do all this while implicating Devils or something.

You know, if we did manage to snake a bone from every dragon, it only becomes a shame we don't have more trustworthy riders who could claim a mount.

Because that's like at least a half a dozen dragons of combat weight, assuming half the ones who died in fear and madness respond to the call.

We could have the relevant people claim one though, in lieu of hatching their egg instead, like Malarys, Rhaella, Dany, Teana, Hermetia and Maelor.

So actually we could make that work.

I was actually in favor of just giving them all their own eggs, but if they want a grown dragon instead they're certainly welcome to it.

Well it just becomes a strategic question. Having a dragon within reach of all of our war theaters means that no one can form a plan against any of our armies with intent to avoid dealing with them, which adds some logistical concerns to our enemies that they are forced to deal with.

Also do we not have message? Send one to them and ask what is going on in their end, While we are in the Red Keep grab some bones of dragons. And then use the remaining bones there to fabricate smaller replacements. Or we could just take them all and frame Varys.

So besides dragon bones anything in Red Keep we want to loot? Most important places likely warded up tight.

If we take a bit of bone, and immediately use them to resurrect whichever dragons will reply to the call A) It doesn't matter if it is discovered, because we will have already gotten all relevant use of them and B) It would immediately become obvious who took the bones if people recognize the dragons on descriptions alone.

If we hold them in reserve, then the question becomes relevant again.
